status report

This status report post, which I'm going to theoretically sticky and just keep editing, will probably confuse some people because my TNM 3:16 Universe circuits are still back in 1999. :P

TNM 3:16 Website Status (May 2, 2004):
-site update today
-for Rick's OSR, added the Year  1 Month 5 addendum and the new Year 2 Month 1
-2 additions to the circuits list: Josh Cooper's WWA and Critic of the Dawn's NDW (links to his forum)
-not actively working on anything for the site right now other than circuits.  updates for the immediate future will probably just continue to be new Rick's OSR and updates to the circuits page.

PWF Status (May 2, 2004):
-about 2/3 done with the last Monday Mayhem before IYF: Stairway to Heaven, Highway to Hell.  completetion of this unknown.
-Fallout before the PPV is booked but not ran
-will probably post old cards here, from Superstarz onward (from the last PPV till now) in the near future

SOTBW Status (May 2, 2004):
-posted cards 1-3 here
-have ran card 4.  was going to start the writeup today but was burnt out mentally from a bunch of AOE2

AOW Status (May 2, 2004):
-card 4 is booked but not ran
-since AOW is a little ahead of PWF and SOTBW, I'm gonna try to focus on catching them up to AOW though I may do a card or two though just as a change of pace.

IHLW Status (May 2, 2004):
-I had sworn off real wrestler circuits indefinitely because I'm not watching wrestling on TV at all and haven't for awhile.  but I started getting ideas the other day for a roster for IHLW, Take 4.  So goofy gimmicks could make a return for a few cards.  Mostly waiting on an export of Mark Jindrak...

*tap-tap* Is this thing still on?   Hey, it is!

Greetings again TNMers!  I have returned...sort of!

At the very least I am working on an update to TNM 3:16.

Stuff for the update
-update Circuits list
-bringing Matt Harms' rules set up to date (weeks 53 thru 96)

Have there been any other rules set updates or new rules sets since I've been gone?  Point me in the right direction for those, or anything else you'd like to see in the update.

As to where my circuits stand...I haven't really done anything since I mostly retired from TNM-land almost 2 years ago.

AOW is only a couple shows with light writeups and will presumably be continued as is should I stick around TNM-land for awhie.  Ditto SOTBW.

And then there's PWF.  Oh boy.  I actually clearly remember all the major storylines I had planned out for the next year.  But I'm not sure if that's going to happen.  There's some problems with PWF which I'll take a few moments to expound on: PWF attempts to exist in this odd little wrestling universe with various fighting games as well as the now defunct circuits USWA (by BigCat), SCW (by Joe "Kod" Krystiak), and Kirk's SMWA.  All good and wonderful and I was even going to loosely pick up SMWA from where Kirk stopped posting it at Crash Carnival 99 in May 1999 (conviently where PWF almost is anyway).  But you see, PWF runs its main show live on Monday Nights...the same night as SMWA's main show which is also love.  So Zangief, Jack Slade, Highland Hell, and others have been somehow in two places at once on numerous occasions.  Not to mention at the April/May 1999 period, Jack Slade was in the middle of an angle where he was concussed.  Then at Crash Carnival he went on to take a dozen chairshots from Skarzz.  But wait!  Two weeks prior to this at a PWF PPV (which I haven't written yet), Jack Slade will be utterly brutalized by Jack Slater, knocking him out of action for months.  Any wrestling fan in this "universe" watching both shows not only has to try and understand how Slade nearly gets killed on PPV then shows up merely concussed the next day on the other show, not to mention the fact he's appeared live on both shows at the same time for months.  Space time contiuum, EXPLODE~!  Of course, I could just stop having PWF share a storyline universe with SMWA...but then the prescence of numerous SMWA wrestlers doesn't make as much sense, and more importantly the identity of Jack Slater makes even less sense.  I suppose its not impossible to detach the SMWA guys from SMWA but it'd be a disservice and a backstory hatchetjob that I sort of feel would be a disservice to SMWA's memory.  Not to mention that I'm pretty sure SMWA has been mentioned numerous times so far in PWF's short history.  And while we're on the list of things wrong with PWF, its short history is full of multiple starts and stops, varied writing styles, and me falling into the horrible TNM circuit cliched trap of writing the circuit as if it suddenlywent from non-existant to having multiple live TV shows each week and PPVs.  Unrealistic, even for 1999 when pro wrestling in America was in an arguably better and more popular state of being than it is now.  In the nearly 7 years since I first started PWF, I've grown alot as a person and a writer and some of the real life person characters that were spawned out of my high school days are long changed.  It's hard to write a character who is a person you haven't really seen or spoken to in 5 years.

So to get to the point of that long paragraph, my plan right now is to retire PWF, which will become refered to as PWF-1998.  I will finish the last part of the card I left off on and then do a big writeup covering how the next year of angles was supposed to play out.

PWF will then be rebooted as PWF-2006.  It will eschew use of most SMWA wrestlers; a few exceptions will probably be made for minor wrestlers that I'd like to expand (Grand Redstone, Rod Emerson, and The Philadelphia Extreme Machine come to mind) and maybe Highland Hell just because the dirty Scottish heels were always fun to write.  It will also go on a slower and more realistic rise to being a major fed.  Of course, whether this happens will depend on how long this return to TNM lasts.  We shall see...
