Minor Vizualizer problem

ZedjaPosted on 08/15/05 at 20:06:30

I just noticed that after adding the minimize button, the lower photo/s are cut off at the last quarter. Before the update some of the team names also doesn't wrap enough so that some of the text is outside what is shown.

Do you have a screenshot for me? I can't get this to happen on my end...

Thanks!!

I have the same problem with my visualizer window. My manager pics on the bottom hardly show up at all.

I'm using Win 98 so I can't send the screen shot.

I'll get you one when I run a card tonight. It's in that window, not in the Vizualizer itself.

Just mailed it to you on the mail from the mailinglist.

I can confirm that this is happening for me as well. I am using Windows XP SP 2.

It's probably something really small. I'll have a look at it when I get home tonight.

Thanks, guys!

Probably just a height fix for the window.
Oliver CoppPosted on 08/16/05 at 19:51:46

Don't know for sure yet... I'll let you know ASAP.

Guys - it's not that simple. Graphics windows such as the one displaying the Visualizer aren't meant to have a system menu and a minimize box. Once you add those, Windows gets confused.

Sizing the window doesn't help the lower images being cut - it just stretches the space in between the images.

Unfortunately, that means I'll have to remove the minimizer function from the Visualizer again - or you'll have to live with it.

I've put in a support call at MS for this. Let's see if/when they respond.

The thing is: adding the minimizer box doesn't change the size of the title bar at all. Hence, there is no reason whatsoever why all of a sudden the image spacing is different.

I've just uploaded Beta 1b. It reverts back to the original Visualizer binary and fixes a few other problems along the way.

Aww, that's just too bad. So adding margins to it so that the photos doesn't go all out to the edges doesn't work then??

If it does, wouldn't adding enough margin space below to account for how much of the picture that disappears below the window edge, as well as adjust the height of the window to compensate, fix the problem?.
Oliver CoppPosted on 08/16/05 at 21:09:10

Like I said - if I make the window higher, the photo is still cut at the same position... it's just displayed farther down.
ZedjaPosted on 08/16/05 at 21:40:23

Then there's no option for a bottom margin.. That's too bad. I thought it could be put below the pictures, pushing them up...

*shakes head* Bloody stupid Microsoft.

Actually, it looks more and more like this is an issue with Graphics Tools Pro, the image display library I use to display JPGs. I've put in a support call with them. Let's see - they're usually very good about this type of thing.
