NAWA Wildfire 2005....The Preview

SolomattGrundyPosted on 06/29/08 at 18:33:12

The New Age Wrestling Alliance returns to Pay Per View with another blockbuster card. On the heels of a hot Reality Check show, the road to WrestleClash IV continues, August 14th, with this show, called Wildfire.

NAWA World Title Sixty Minute Iron Man Match:
Jerry Lynn vs. Miles Stylish(c)

For the longest time, both of these men have been in the Triumvirate, but it all fell apart, when Stylish turned on Lynn when they failed to win the NAWA World Tag Team Titles from the Archangels of Anarchy. This took out Lynn for several weeks but Lynn returned to a bang, ending the one year NAWA International Title reign of Stylish. In the mean time, Stylish won the vacated NAWA World Title, Lynn lost the NAWA International Title to Tony Mamaluke through dubious means, but won a number one contenders match against Ron Waterman. Now, having both won a match a piece(Lynn having lost to Stylish in the semifinals of the NAWA World Title Tournament), they will compete this Sunday in the most demanding match in wrestling, the Iron Man Match. Sixty minutes, the most decisions in an hour wins. Decisions can be rendered by pinfall, submission, countout, or disqualification. NAWA Commissioner New Jack has informed us that in the event of a tie, there will be a Sudden Death Overtime period.

Prediction:

NAWA International Title Match:
Ron Waterman vs. Tony Mamaluke(c)(w/Larry Sweeney)

To say that Ron Waterman and Tony Mamaluke have had their altercations in the past would be an understatement. They have at least dozens of matches over the past couple of years, with one common factor, that being Ron Waterman beating Tony Mamaluke every single time in the center of the ring. Mamaluke was under a long time losing streak, until he hired Larry Sweeney as his new manager. After winning the NAWA International Title, Tony Mamaluke cost Ron Waterman both the finals of the NAWA World Title Tournament and a number one contenders match. As a result, NAWA Commissioner New Jack has forced Tony Mamaluke to put his NAWA International Title Belt on the line against Ron Waterman, this Sunday at Wildfire. Waterman is out for blood and revenge against both Sweeney and Mamaluke.

Prediction:

CM Punk vs. Raven
This feud started with CM Punk pinning Raven on Glory back in January. Raven scored an amount of revenge in the Luck of the Draw, by eliminating Punk. Ever since then, Punk and Raven have been at each other's throats, in a variety of matches, like for example, a Stairwell to Hell Match at Reality Check, where Punk scored the win over Raven, after decking him with a singapore cane. Now at Wildfire, Raven and Punk will finally go one on one once more, as Raven tries to get revenge on Punk for that vicious cane shot at Reailty Check and a variety of other attacks.

Prediction:

Christopher Daniels vs. The Gambler
After being off for several months with a knee injury, the Gambler returned, pinning Christopher Daniels in a six man tag team match. The next week, Daniels attacked the Gambler, beating him down in the backstage area. As a result, this match has been added to the Wildfire card.

Prediction:

Scott Steiner vs. Teddy Hart

Ever since returning to the New Age Wrestling Alliance, Scott Steiner has had the NAWA World Title in his sights. Seeing the success Teddy Hart has had over the past several months, Steiner attacked him during the Stairway to Hell Match at Wildfire. Steiner has promised to destroy Teddy Hart in order to send a message, but don't count Hart out, as he's came up successful in many big match situations in the past.

Prediction:

NAWA Television Title Match:
AJ Styles vs. Sedrick Skyhawk(c)(w/Candace Sweet, Bruno, Richard Ramos Ricardo, Attorney At Law, and Mr. Fernando)

Sedrick Skyhawk has had the NAWA Television Championship over the past few months, barely hanging onto it due to a combination of sneaky tantics and help from his entourage. However, Skyhawk might have met his match, in the form of AJ Styles, who has refused to fall for Skyhawk's games, pinning him three times in three weeks(two tag team matches and a non title match). Styles has his sights set on the gold and Skyhawk intends to keep it by any means neccessary.

Prediction:

NAWA Cruiserweight Title Match:
Austin Aries vs. Bryan Danielson(c)

Danielson has been on a roll since coming to the NAWA and winning the NAWA Cruiserweight Title. However, Austin Aries has also racked up a series of wins over Cruiserweight competitors over the past month, putting him in contention with his old independent rival, Danielson. These two try and add another chapter to their storied history, as they meet at Wildfire for the NAWA Cruiserweight Title.

Prediction:

Six Person Tag Team Match with the NAWA World Tag Team Titles on the Line:
The Rottweilers and Julius Smokes vs The Archangels of Anarchy(Desdomia, Destruction, and Armageddon)(c)

This all started with the match where the Archangels of Anarchy won the NAWA World Tag Team Titles for a second time, as they tricked the Rottweilers into getting themselves disqualified, taking out Chris Sabin and Matt Bentley in one fell swoop as well. At Reality Check, the Rottweilers earned a title shot, but fell due to the interference of Desdomia. As a result of this, NAWA Commissioner New Jack, has signed a rematch, but also added Desdomia and the manager of the Rottweilers, Julius Smokes(who has been known to interfere a time or two), to make this a six person tag team match, with New Jack's stating since they would interfere anyway, might as well make them an official part of the match.

Prediction:

Rapmaster Killings vs. Norman Smiley

Added at the last minute, as a result of the events of last week on Glory, Killings and Smiley will square off. Killings has had a new attitude as of late, after having been flattened by Scott Steiner at Reality Check but due to a miscommunication with Norman Smiley, which cost him a tag team match against C.W. Anderson and Simon Diamond. As a result, Killings attacked Norman, laying him out. As a result, Norman has demanded and will get the match against Killings. Added to this match, is the intrigue that Larry Sweeney has been scouting Killings for the past several week.
