NAWA Glory 1/27/05

Footage is shown from Luck of the Draw 2005, mostly the NAWA World Title versus NAWA International Title match, with the superplex all the way to the floor from Harry Harris to Miles Stylish shown three times before the simultaneous pinfall/submission that leads to both men keeping their titles. Also, we see a replay of Teddy Hart wiping out Harry Harris with a running chop block to his surgically repaired right knee. The final moments of the Luck of the Draw match is shown with Ron Waterman putting both Teddy Hart and Raven over the top rope to earn an NAWA World Title Shot March 20th at Reality Check.

TONIGHT: In a special return match from the main event of WrestleClash III, Christopher Daniels squares off against Raven!

"Sharp Dressed Man" by ZZ Top plays and out comes the NAWA International Champion Miles Stylish to a loud round of boos, as he steps into the ring, before calling for the microphone. Stylish talks about how last Sunday at Luck of the Draw was bullshit, as he had the title won. Harry Harris's shoulders were counted down to the canvas a half of a second before he instictively tapped out. Stylish points to the NAWA vision, where the finish is shown at a camera angle that indicates that Stylish may have in fact pinned Harris before he submitted. Stylish demands an NAWA World Title Shot tonight but out comes Commissioner New Jack. New Jack says that Stylish has no right to demand anything and besides, Harry Harris is not in the building tonight, in fact, he is currently in the hospital after Teddy Hart took out his leg at the Pay Per View. Stylish suggest that the match happens at our next Pay Per View, Blinded by Fury, on February 13th, where the winner goes on to defend the belt against Ron Waterman at Reality Check.

"Wanted Dead or Alive" by Bon Jovi plays and out comes Teddy Hart, who is not down with the possibility of Miles Stylish getting an NAWA World Title Shot before him. Hart remarks that he is going to take a page out of Stylish's book, by showing a replay of three weeks ago when he pinned Harry Harris in the center of the ring in a non title match. Hart states that he should have received the next NAWA World Title Match by default because he beat the champion in a non title match and last night, he lasted longer than anyone else in the Luck of the Draw match. Stylish says that Hart might have beaten Harry Harris, but there is no way Hart can beat him. New Jack cuts in as both men go face to face, before he says that they do need an NAWA World Title Match at Blinded by Fury, so he's going to make Teddy Hart against Miles Stylish where the winner faces Harry Harris for the NAWA World Title at Blinded by Fury. And that match is right now!

Alex Shelley(w/ Mr. Fernando) vs. Spanky

Shelley is dazed and Spanky paint brushes the back of the head of Shelley several times, before he grabs a headlock, working that move for a few seconds but Shelley shoves Spanky off. Shoulderblock by Shelley and Shelley quickly bends down, putting Spanky in a front facelock, before bringing him down with a vertical suplex. Two count. Shelley picks up Spanky and pair of uppercuts, before Shelley works the abdominal stretch, attempting to put Spanky down, before he drills a series of kneelifts to the chest, before he whips Spanky into the ropes. Spanky rocks out to his music, to cheers from the fans, before he runs back to the back. Shelley pulls himself up and Mr. Fernando is up, which causes Shelley to yell at Fernando, browbeating him for the loss. Fernando yells "Si, Si, Si, Si" but Shelley isn't having any of it, walking off in the huff, leaving Mr. Fernando in the ring. It's obvious that hooking up with the law firm of Richard Ramos Ricardo, Attorney at Law hasn't given his NAWA career the shot in the arm that Alex Shelley wanted and this loss to Spanky tonight might have clinched that.

New Jack is sitting in his makeshift office, behind police tape when a black man, who is identified as Julius Smokes steps into the scene. Smokes talks about the rumors that the New Age Wrestling Alliance have been looking into signing a few new talents, but New Jack should look no further than his Rottweilers. Low Ki and Homicide are two of the toughest bad asses on the independent circuit and the time is right for them to make an impact in the New Age Wrestling Alliance. The Commissioner says that wrestlers from all over the world are looking for a shot in the New Age Wrestling Alliance, he just can't sign any two hoodlums off the street to a contract. However, since he is a fair man, New Jack says he's going to give Homicide and Low Ki a tryout and if they win, they get contracts with the New Wrestling Alliance. Smokes says his men are in the building right now and New Jack makes their tryout match for tonight. With that we fade to a

Christopher Daniels is backstage with the members of the Archangels of Anarchy. Daniels might have not won the Luck of the Draw as planned but tonight will begin his quest for total control of the New Age Wrestling Alliance. Destruction and Armageddon are called forth, as Daniels says that Chris Sabin and Matt Bentley have been making noise backstage, about wanting a shot at the NAWA World Tag Team Titles, which are of course held by Destruction and Armageddon. Tonight Armageddon has Sabin one on one and Daniels suggests that he takes out Sabin tonight. Daniels then motions for Rapture, saying that Ron Waterman is an ever present thorn in the side of the Archangels of Anarchy, and that continued last Sunday in the Luck of the Draw match. Daniels wants Rapture to take out Waterman tonight which Scott Steiner seems angry about, yelling that he more likely to take out Waterman than Rapture was but Daniels says that this is all part of the plan. As for the Fallen Angel, he has an old debt to settle, as he goes one on one with his most dangerous rival, Raven in the main event. The domination of the Archangels begins tonight, so says the gospel of the Fallen Angel.

Chris Sabin(w/Matt Bentley) vs. One Half of the NAWA World Tag Team Champions Armageddon(w/Desdomia and Destruction)

Two count off the cover and Armageddon slaps on a nerve pinch, to wear down Sabin.

The crowd rallys behind Sabin as the arm drops two times, before Sabin fights up, attempted elbows, but Armageddon grabs Sabin in a headlock, before he drops him down across the knee. Armageddon steps back and falling headbutt bright to the shoulder. Stepping to the outside and waiting for Chris Sabin to come up. SPINNING BACK FIST OFF THE TOP ROPE DRILLS CHRIS SABIN! Sabin crumples down in a heap, that super martial arts strike might have knocked him out but only a two and a half count off of the Armageddon cover. Armageddon lifts up Sabin, chops and he attempts to throw him over the top rope to the arena floor but Sabin hangs onto the top rope, before pulling himself up. Armageddon turns around, right into a springboard dropkick! The crowd cheers as Sabin pounds away at Armageddon before whipping him into the corner. Leaping clothesline in the corner stuns Armageddon. Wait a minute, Desdomia is on the top rope as Sabin gives the signal, she's been known to leap off the top rope, but Matt Bentley is up as well, and he grabs Desdomia in a fireman's carry, before jerking her off the top rope. She's kicking and screaming as Destrucition enters the ring and goes after Sabin, but Sabin kicks Destruction, before facelocking him. Sabin and Bentley celebrate this win by Sabin, as the Archangels are up in the ring, not looking too happy, as Sabin and Bentley now have an even better case on their receiving an NAWA World Tag Team Title Shot soon.

Backstage:

Dan Marion is backstage with CM Punk. We are reminded that Punk lasted the second longest in Luck of the Draw, underneath Teddy Hart. Punk says he would have won, had Raven not stuck his nose into his business and threw him over the top rope. Punk says Raven just epitomizes all what's wrong in the New Age Wrestling Alliance, a man with a history of demons, who is just a black mark on wrestling. Punk says that Raven is a two time NAWA World Champion, along with receiving countless shots to regain the title, but Punk has not received one NAWA World Title shot, not even one. And the fans cheer Raven. Punk theorizes that the fans, can identify with Raven, as they are nothing but "fat alchoholic pill popping vagrants who cut themselves for pleasure and whine when something doesn't go their way". Punk says he's going to show the world why he is the greatest wrestler in the NAWA today and he will be the NAWA World Champion before its all said and done. Tonight, Tony Mamaluke will be the latest to go down to the Anaconda Vice.

And who should show up but Tony Mamaluke, who offers CM Punk a hug. Punk stares a hole through Mamaluke, who chastizes Punk for speaking ill of the fans. "Just because they've never touched a female breast in their life, doesn't mean they don't have feelings". Mamaluke vows to become the NAWA World Champion which causes Marion to break out into laughter, that he quickly disguises as a cough. Mamaluke says he's for the people, for the fans, and if it wasn't for an unexpected bout of the bubonic plague, he would have won of the Luck of the Draw last Sunday. In fact, Mamaluke says he's in a good mood tonight and offers to call off the match with Punk. He suggests they forfeit the match, hell, Mamaluke will even buy Punk a beer. Punk is not down with this suggestion and he pie faces Mamaluke, knocking him down before storming off. Mamaluke looks in confusion, as if he can't figure out what he did wrong.

A replay is shown for fans who might just be tuning in of Teddy Hart pinning Miles Stylish to go onto challenge for the NAWA World Title against Harry Harris February 13th at Blinded by Fury.

The announcers talk about how Mamaluke is a geek who is oblivious to the fact that everyone mocks him as Punk attacks Mamaluke at the bell with chops but Mamaluke fires back with chops of his own, along with a pair of clotheslines. Punk is off balance and Mamaluke grabs Punk before he whips him into the corner. Monkey flip out of the corner to Punk and Mamaluke delivers a series of forearms to the face, before he turns around, giving a big smile and a hokey thumbs up. Attempted kick but Punk blocks it. Mamaluke spins around and spin kick cracks Punk to the face for a two count. Springboard legdrop down across the chest of Mamaluke for a two count. Punk picks up Mamaluke and elbow driven to the back of the head. Armlock by Mamaluke before Punk brings down Mamaluke with an armlock legsweep DDT! Mamaluke has been driven down and Punk covers, but scores a two count. Up again and more forearms, before Punk whips Mamaluke into the ropes. Running knee to the back and waistlock. German Suplex right into a bridge but Mamaluke rolls the shoulder up at two and a half! Punk to the top rope, taking his time but Mamaluke is up and dropkick to Punk crotching him. To the top rope and SUPER DDT BRINGS PUNK DOWN OFF THE TOP ROPE! Both men are down on the canvas and the referee puts a standing ten count on both men before Mamaluke manages to roll over Punk, making the cover for a two and three fourths count!

Mamaluke, a bit more confident that he nearly broke his three month plus losing streak, catches Punk with a pair of European Uppercuts, before he hooks Punk. Pair of snap suplexes brings Punk down, before Mamaluke hangs on, hoisting Punk up. Brain Buster brings Punk down and Mamaluke covers, for a two and a half count! Punk is picked up and Mamaluke with chops to Punk, before he whips Punk into the corner. Double leg takedown as Punk staggers out of the corner and Mamaluke turns Punk over into the Sicilian Cloverleaf, but Punk rolls over into the ropes, forcing the break of the hold. Pair of running kneelifts and Mamaluke dropkicks Punk into the corner. Climbing behind Punk and hooks him around the head, before going for the Sicilian Neck Tie, but Punk hangs on and Mamaluke flies off before Punk leaps in, quickly applying the Anaconda Vice! Mamaluke struggles for a few seconds but the hold is locked on tight, as Punk makes Mamaluke tap out for the victory.

CM Punk made Tony Mamaluke submit to the Anaconda Vice in 0:10:00.
Rating: **** 1/4

Punk leaves with the victory, as he has made Tony Mamaluke submit to the Anaconda Vice tonight on Glory. Mamaluke gets up, a little put off that he lost yet again tonight on Glory to CM Punk.

Backstage:

Raven is in a dark damp room, talking about the fact that some demons are never exorcised. At WrestleClash III, he thought he was done with the Fallen Angel, but it seems as if they were fated to enter the ring one more time, tonight on Glory. Raven says that CM Punk, Christopher Daniels, Miles Stylish, Ron Waterman, and many others want the NAWA World Title, but he says tht the one person that Harry Harris should worry about is the person standing right before him. Raven's beaten Harris before for the championship and he can beat him again. Sooner or later, their paths will cross again and Raven will be the NAWA World Champion for a third time. Tonight, Christopher Daniels will go down once more to the Evenflow DDT. So it is is written, so it shall come to pass. Quoth the Raven, never more. Raven looks at the camera with his usual sullen expression as we fade out.

We are backstage in the Commissioner's Office, as Sedrick Skyhawk is flanked by his entourage of his publicist Candace Sweet and his bodyguard, the monsterous Bruno, along with a couple of guys with cameras, who look absolutely disgusted with New Jack's office setup. Skyhawk says that New Jack better have summoned him here for a good reason, because he's got a photo-op that he's running late for, the NAWA Television Champion is in high demand. New Jack says that he's called Skyhawk here on the matter of his first title defense but Candace reminds New Jack that Skyhawk "so totally doesn't have to defend his title until thirty days after he won it". New Jack knows this and is giving Skyhawk his first title defense at Blinded Fury, on February 13th, thirty days after he won it. Skyhawk says he's cool with that, suggesting Twizted Youth or Mr. Fernando as opponents but New Jack says that Rapmaster Killings will in fact get his return match which causes Skyhawk to go ballastic, saying that he's a star and shouldn't have to fight a nobody like Rapmaster Killings. New Jack says Skyhawk's abuse of the rulebook reminded him of a new rule and that's the former champion gets a rematch at the current champion. Skyhawk and his entourage leaves New Jack's office in a huff, as the NAWA Television Title Match has been set for Blinded By Fury, as Skyhawk defends his belt in a return match against the former NAWA Television Champion Rapmaster Killings.

Back into the arena, as "Hell's Bells" by AC/DC starts up and Rapture makes his way down to the ring. The announcers talk about how the former Lenny Lane, now known as Rapture, was released by the New Age Wrestling Alliance last October but Christopher Daniels approached him, offering to get him back into the New Age Wrestling Alliance, in exchange for joining the Archangels of Anarchy. Lane accepted this Faustian bargain and now is Rapture. It is implied that Daniels might have done this to finally gain revenge for Lenny Lane forcing him to dress up as a cheerleader in the early days of the New Age Wrestling Alliance when Lenny won a match to force Daniels to be his servant for a few months.

"The Unforgiven" by Metallica plays and out comes Ron Waterman, the man who won the Luck of the Draw Match for the second year in the row, to cheers from the fans. Waterman walks out to the ring but SCOTT STEINER RUSHES DOWN THE RAMP AND ATTACKS WATERMAN FROM BEHIND WITH A RUNNING DOUBLE AXE HANDLE! Steiner spins Waterman around but Waterman fights back, as these two men are exchanging hard punches in the aisle, as Rapture stands in the ring, not wanting to get in between these two men. Waterman manages to shove Steiner into the guardrail but Steiner comes out swinging, knocking Waterman back with a clothesline before Steiner grabs Waterman. STEINER CRACKS WATERMAN'S HEAD AGAINST THE RINGPOST AS HARD AS HE COULD!

Waterman drops to the ring apron, blood pouring from his forehead. He attempts to pull himself to his feet but he drops to one knee. Scott Steiner grabs a steel chair and Waterman fights to his feet. BIG POPPA PUMP DENTS THE CHAIR RIGHT OVER THE HEAD OF WATERMAN! A vicious chairshot and Scott Steiner throws Waterman ribs first into the ringsteps! Waterman is slumped against the steps as Scott Steiner is pulling back the mats, exposing the concrete. Waterman swings a few punches, still trying to fight back but Steiner bearhugs Waterman, squeezing him before dumping him on the floor with a vicious belly to belly suplex! Waterman's back cracks off of concrete!

Waterman rolls over before he attempts to pull himself up to his hands and knees, but Scott Steiner catches Waterman with a running soccer kick to the ribs. Blood drips from Waterman's mouth as Scott Steiner rolls him into the ring. Steiner stands over Waterman and Steiner Recliner locked on Waterman! Big Poppa Pump is pulling back on the head of Waterman, putting pressure on the back as blood is pouring from the mouth of Ron Waterman! The crowd is booing, throwing trash into the ring but this only prompts Steiner to pull back on Waterman's head even more, as referees and security enter the ring, pleading for Steiner to break the hold but Steiner refuses, as he continues to put pressure on the Steiner Recliner as Ron Waterman slumps forward slightly. The crowd is in a hush as Big Poppa Pump has just rendered Ron Waterman unconcious in the Steiner Recliner!

Steiner finally breaks the hold and spits on Waterman, drawing more heel heat, as Rapture looks down, obviously his match against Ron Waterman will not take place tonight. Steiner walks off, as Waterman lays in the ring, motionless in a pool of his own blood as we cut to a commercial as paramedics, referees, security, and even a few wrestlers are out to attend to Waterman.

[commercial]

We cut back to the announcers, as they talk in hushed voices. Scott Steiner has perhaps showed why he is one of the most dangerous man in the entire history of wrestling. Ron Waterman has ran roughshot over many of the greatest athletes in the New Age Wrestling Alliance, won two Luck of the Draw Matches and Scott Steiner just brutalized him in the center of the ring.

Backstage:

Dan Marion is backstage, looking a bit intimidated, as he stands by with Scott Steiner, who yells at him, telling him to "get the [bleep] away from me" and Marion wisely scurries off in fear. Steiner says for the past two years, he's heard about Ron Waterman, how Waterman is the baddest man in the New Age Wrestling Alliance. Steiner says that he just proved that he's the baddest man in this company, when he destroyed Ron Waterman. He just kicked that mans ass and left him for dead. Steiner says that anyone who steps in his ring will be destroyed. He flexes at the camera, and dares anyone to stop him. The announcers say that Scott Steiner beat up Ron Waterman so badly that he had to leave the ring on a stretcher and they fear for what might happen to anyone else in the New Age Wrestling Alliance if Scott Steiner should get his hands on them. Even Christopher Daniels might regret bringing Scott Steiner in as a hired gun of the Archangels of Anarchy, if he was truly unleashed.

NAWA Cruiserweight Champion AJ Styles is sitting at ringside for the next match, as the camera has a close up on the bruising of his face, as he's out to provide some color commentary for this next match. Styles says he can't remember anything after the first elbow with his match with Danielson last Sunday and at Blinded by Fury, they'll step into the ring once again, with no time limit. The Amazing Red makes his return to the NAWA as "The Final Countdown" kicks up, bringing out Bryan Danielson, who has the usual calm expression on his face. Danielson enters the ring, as the bell rings.

The Amazing Red vs. Bryan Danielson

Red can't even get out of first gear as Danielson nearly murders him with a running Yakuza Kick to the face. Chops in the corner and Danielson whips Red into the ropes, before catching him with a running knee to the face which Red does a backflip off of. Danielson picks up Red, headbutts to the back of the head and full nelson, right into a release dragon suplex! Red is dropped right on the back of his head as Danielson drops the knee, before locking on the seated abdominal stretch. Rapid fire elbowsmashes right to the side of the head of Red and Danielson chickenwings the arms, before he flips into the Cattle Muttilation. Danielson cranks on the hold as the referee checks Red who has been knocked out by the elbows, so he calls for the bell.

Bryan Danielson defeated Amazing Red when Amazing Red passed out in the Cattle Mutilation in 0:03:43.
Rating: ***

The announcers put over the Cattle Mutilation as a submission hold right up there with CM Punk's Anaconda Vice. Styles remarks having been in both holds, he'll have to agree with that statement, before he says that he will walk out of Blinded by Fury with the NAWA Cruiserweight Title when he faces off against Bryan Danielson in a no time limit match.

Clips are shown from WrestleClash III where Raven defeated Christopher Daniels in a barbaric Walk Through Hell Match. Tonight, these two NAWA megastars compete one more time in the main event which is up next. Don't you dare go away!

Punk enters the ring and stomps away at Raven, with Daniels joining them, as they double team Raven to boos from the crowd! The crowd gets on their feet for a split second but most of them sit down when they realize its only Tony Mamaluke making his way out to make the save! Mamaluke jogs down to the ring, with a big smile on his face, trying to slap hands with the fans, who are having none of it. He shrugs and enters the ring, before he quickly gets pummeled by Punk and Daniels, as the heels beat the ever living shit out of Tony Mamaluke, which allows Raven to roll down to the ring and grab a chair, before he chases Punk and Daniels off to a pop. Not because he's saving Mamaluke mind you, but because he's Raven!

Mamaluke pulls himself up as he raise his hand like a dork for Raven to give him a hi five but Raven just kicks Mamaluke in the gut! EVENFLOW DDT SPIKES MAMALUKE DOWN TO THE CANVAS! Raven stands in the crucifix position to cheers as his music plays. We fade to the back with Raven standing tall.

Backstage:

NAWA International Champion Miles Stylish walks from the building, his championship belt draped over his shoulder as he is dressed in street clothes when Commissioner New Jack walks up to Stylish. Stylish says that he isn't in the mood, "because that little bastard Teddy Hart got lucky and screwed me out of my rightful title match". New Jack stops Stylish, saying that while the NAWA World Title Match is always a big match, one year ago at Blinded by Fury, Miles Stylish captured the NAWA International Title. Therefore, Stylish's title defense on the one year anniversary might be just as big and New Jack has lined up Stylish a world class opponent, that if he beats this man, Stylish will be right back in the title hunt. Stylish is his usual confident self, promising victory, before he asks New Jack who the opponent is. The Commissioner says that Miles Stylish will be defending his NAWA International Title against a man who has held the NAWA International Title before as well in the past. That man will be cleared to wrestle on that night and he is Jerry Lynn! This draws a large pop from the fans in the arena as the camera pans to Stylish's wide eyed look at this news as we slowly fade to black, as Miles Stylish will put his NAWA International Title on the line at Blinded by Fury against his former Triumvirate teammate, Jerry Lynn. See you next week.

Though it was still a good match, Stylish has had his chances so there was no way Hart wasn't winning that one.  You've built Hart well in NAWA from the get-go, and though I don't think he's ready to hold the top prize yet, I wouldn't be surprised to see him carrying the title one day (if he doesn't implode first).

And Stylish vs. Lynn will be awesome at the PPV as well.  Lot of history there.  Two great matches signed.  I really like New Jack as the commish, because who would give him that job? :)
