Minor Build 4 Beta problem

Critic of the DawnPosted on 08/15/05 at 17:08:57

Oliver, I just downloaded the Build 4 beta and everything about it looks pretty good thus far.  I have run into one minor issue, however.  Every time I choose the Plugins menu, I get the "Hey!  You set your clock back you bastard!  I'm deactivating all your unregistered commercial plugins because you're trying to cheat!" message.

I DID adjust my clock a half dozen times or so by a minute or less about a week or so back, and I DO occasionally use my computer's calander function to see what dates are on what days of the week in the future, but I never apply those changes.  The dozen or so clock changes that I kept came as I was attempting to get it exactly in line with official US time as reported at time.gov, and I got it within a second before I got bored and gave up on more accuracy.  The old build I was using (Build 3 - I skipped 3b because of all the SP 2 issues with it) never so much as grumbled about this.  But this beta has given me the message every time I access the plugin menu anywhere in the program.

Getting this message is especially annoying because I don't believe I HAVE any unregistered commercial plugins.

Oh, and now that I think about it, I have an outright bug report as well.  In the improved Mystery Wrestler functionality, when it gives you a list of categories (Male, Busy & Female I believe they are), deselecting the Busy option while choosing a Mystery Wrestler (as in one not on your roster) will result in an empty list because all wrestlers not on your roster are apparently considered as being busy by default.  Thus, I don't think Busy should be selectable as a filter for Mystery Wrestlers.  Random Wrestlers from your roster, yes.  But for Mystery Wrestlers it's unnecessarily confusing, I think.

Update: TNM finally stopped bothering me about my clock after I ran a card, closed the program and re-entered it.  Not sure which solved the problem, but it appears to be gone now.  If it's possible to do so, however, you may want to disable that message for people who have nothing with an active trial period installed.

Hi Eric,

it probably was due to the time zone difference between Europe and the US. The code handling plugins is pretty sophisticated but not enough so to pick up on running across time zones :)

It should be ok now because it's been more than six hours since the release.

Right you are about the option being strange in that context. The behaviour you found only appears in regular circuits (not e-mail mode) when selecting non-busy mystery wrestlers. I've posted a fix here: http://www.tnm7.com/downloads/cardsdu.zip

I'll be reuploading the Build with the changed file as well.

Thanks!

Got a bug report...

I went to the Talent Limitation screen, to make sure everything was set correctly. Problem is there's no way to exit the screen.

I have 9 fed currently going. I don't know if that covers the Ok button, but no hotkeys for exiting are working either.

Here's a feature request for the added Mystery Wrestler functionality.  So far it's working very nicely and I love it.  However, it'd be nice if you could include one more sorting option.

What about a set of two checkboxes, one labelled "Weight greater than" and one "Weight less than?"  Presumably you would have a field next to these where you could type in the limiting weight.  This would allow us to choose Cruiserweights or Heavyweights without memorizing the weights of hundreds of wrestlers and manually going through the list and selecting them one by one.

Is that plausible?

That one's already being implemented, Eric :-)

The "groundwork" is already there - I just have to add the buttons and the filter.

Unright - I'll check that later. Can't seem to duplicate it on my end right now. Maybe you could send me your CARD.LGS file?

Thanks!

I don't know if it's because of Build 4, but it seems the unofficial Card Statistics plugin (found on TNMUK) doesn't work now... I never got a chance to test it out earlier, so maybe it never worked.

Since it's not an official plugin, it's really not your headache, Oliver. I can just as well remove it.. Just wanted to see what it did.

I've had the problem with the talent limitation as well, when running too many circuits, so I think that is something (maybe a bug) that has been in the game for some while.
Oliver CoppPosted on 08/16/05 at 12:40:39

Likely so, Rey. In any case - I'll fix it today, I promise :-)

Zedja - I'm not aware of it ever working in SE due to some added verbiage in results that the plugin couldn't have been aware of.

Thanks for the heads up, Oliver. I'll be sure to remove it when I get home.

That's excellent to hear.  Thanks much, Oliver!  Like I said, I'm really enjoying Build 4.
