I wonder what is wrong with Arn Anderson? Maybe he has substance abuse problems and forgot he was booked?  :-/ Seriously, you should make an angle out of it, or one of those "worked shoots". I don't think I've ever had a show that was missed twice in a row by a worker in TNM.

You should hire Mark Starr. I vaguely remember him, but I always thought he had a lot of potential.

YAY IT'S BACK!

So nostalgic and awesome.

As for Arn, you might wanna make sure he hasn't got into any scissor fights . . . :P

As I've actually started watching the old WCW Saturday Night shows again on 24/7, I have only one thing to say -- get crackin' with this circuit, sir.   :P
Rick GarrardPosted on 09/11/06 at 23:58:02

I have been putting in 60-80 hours a week at work.  Hell week (those of you who know what I do, should understand if you look at the scheduling for where I work) is now over and I should, in the next couple of weeks, actually get back into working on TNM.

On a side note, Icon, just how close is what I have been doing to that of WCWSN?  ;)
Perverted_IconPosted on 09/13/06 at 00:42:52

It's pretty close.  Squash matches, interviews and maybe two "main event" matches involving JTTS, as well as Tony saying "major league of professional wrestling" 174 times in a two-hour broadcast.
The one thing I haven't seen from you is really homo-erotic videos starring guys like Magnum TA or Manny Fernandez, which I didn't remember from my younger days and don't really mind you not reproducing.
Rick GarrardPosted on 09/13/06 at 01:00:13

I've got plans for some "coming soon" vignettes but not the Johnny Gunn and Tom Zenk go shopping for clothes type of music video.  More along the lines of Arn Anderson, prior to his JCP debut, wearing a Yankees cap while on the beach in Florida type of "We were sent this tape and we haven't watched it yet" type of thing.

It's the National Wrestling Alliance.... The MAJOR League of Professional Wrestling!

I really miss the good ol' starfield and the music from the NWA On Tour segment... and sadly I can't even find a decent copy of the music from that.  And at one time PBS show, Tony Brown's Business Journal was using it as it's theme as well, so it's gotta be in the public domain.

You can so tell that Dusty is booking it, too, looking at it 20 years later.  Dusty is at the center of like every angle going on.  He's challenging Flair, Blanchard, hell, he told the Russians that has fam-illl-ee, if you weeeel, in Boogie Woogie Man Jimmy Valiant and Buzz Sawyer for them there six man titles.
You should add more barely dechipherable Nikita Koloff promos, too.  He did such a great fake Russian, it's unreal.
Rick GarrardPosted on 09/13/06 at 06:40:18

shi-stu-is-tah Dusty Rhothes, Nikita Koloff is coming for you.  I Nikita Koloff am zee champion.

Or something like that, correct?  ;)  I've seen MANY of the legendary interviews of the Russians vs TA and Rhodes.  Great stuff.  (I do have to point out I'm only about 6 weeks on this circuit, which MAY be why there are so few really good interviews yet).

It's almost like when Ole was booking it and every angle involved the Four Horsemen.  ;)
