Circuit History Plugin Link Not Working

Psymin1Posted on 07/31/05 at 16:04:22

Hey,

I just woke up this morning and was happily greeted when I came to the TNM7 homepage with the release of the anxiously awaited Circuit History Plugin.  But then, when I hit the link to download the trial, it says the page is Forbidden, then there is some german writing.  Any ideas on whats going on?  Is it just me, or are other people having this problem too?  Alright, well, hopefully everything is fixed shortly so I can enjoy what should be an awesome plugin.

Thanks,
Psymin

Getting the same thing here.  It looks like Oliver forgot to change the link to point to the download file.
Rick GarrardPosted on 07/31/05 at 17:20:36

http://www.tnm7.com/downloads/tnmcirch.zip

Looks like you can get it at the link above though.  (just kinda guessed after looking at what the file is named for those that are buying the plugin, and then looking at the naming conventions for other plugins)
UnrightPosted on 07/31/05 at 20:20:39

Good guess, Rick. It works fine.

Plugin is sweeet...
Rick GarrardPosted on 07/31/05 at 20:40:38

Just an FYI to those that have downloaded the plugin:

It may take a while for it to run in an already existing circuit, especially if you have a LOT of titles and title changes.  Just ran it on the TNM with my Championship Wrestling circuit on it, and it basically computerizes everything I already do by hand.  :)

WTG, Oliver.  :) :) :)
Psymin1Posted on 07/31/05 at 21:20:03

Great!  Its working now.  Cant wait to fire it up...

Thanks,
~Psymin
Psymin1Posted on 07/31/05 at 21:24:46

OH NO!  Not even five minutes after my last post, I unzipped  it into my NEWPLUGS folder, opened TNM, it prompted me to install it, and I said yes and chose it to install.  Then, I went into one of my circuits (which has only 12 cards) and tryed to run it...then...an ERROR!  I had to click a bunch of time to read the entire error message, but I am almost positive it says "Program too big to fit in memory"  Any ideas here even though it just came out?  Maybe Oliver knows the problem?

Thanks for any help,
~Psymin

Hmm...  Doesn't seem to recognize title changes or defenses in unorthodox matches (triangle, Brawl-for-All, etc..).

Also at least one match that ended in a double countout didn't show up under either person's records.

Still.. pretty good..
Rick GarrardPosted on 07/31/05 at 21:58:15

Also the radio buttons for sorting don't work when you are looking at "overall rankings".
Oliver CoppPosted on 07/31/05 at 23:09:13

Unright - since there are literally billions of possible match results and "strange" finishes, it's unlikely to catch every single one of them by testing it yourself and with about 20 beta testers :-)

If you were to send me your TNM, it'd be most appreciated because then I could check out what the problem is, fix it and ship the new plugin version to you.

Psymin - can you run the Weight Class Wizard or does it give you the same error?

Rick - sorting buttons? Do you mean the Weight Class Wizard?
Oliver CoppPosted on 07/31/05 at 23:23:20

Rick - would you believe it... this hasn't ever worked and nobody seems to have noticed so far. Updated version is currently being uploaded. Finished now.
Psymin1Posted on 07/31/05 at 23:28:41

Nope, the weight class wizard gives me the exact same error.  Good guess Oliver.  Any ideas?

~Psymin
Rick GarrardPosted on 08/01/05 at 00:07:57

Thanks for the quick fix on the sorting buttons.  Surprised no one caught that.

My Rule #1 of testing...  Click on every button and make sure that everything works before proceeding.  :)

Oliver CoppPosted on 08/01/05 at 09:15:32

Psymin - first guess: how many wrestlers, moves and managers do you have?

Second guess: when opening a DOS shell (click Start, then Run, then type cmd and press ENTER) and typing

mem /c > c:\mem.txt

what does the file C:\MEM.TXT contain?
Psymin1Posted on 08/02/05 at 03:25:51

I'll give ya that info sometime during the weekend, because I am at my Cousins this week.  Thanks for your getting back to me though.

SeanH529Posted on 08/02/05 at 17:37:12

I am also getting an error when I start my circuit history. The Weight Class wizard is working, but I can't get this one to start up. I am running windows XP. Any ideas?
Oliver CoppPosted on 08/02/05 at 18:21:49

Hi Sean,

I'm pretty sure there's something in your card results which throws it off.

You'll probably see the Weight Class Wizard crash also once you click the "Wrestler Records" button (appears after the Circuit History plugin is registered).

If possible, please send me your TNM, and I'll work out the reason why it's getting killed, fix it and ship a new version of the plugin back to you.
SeanH529Posted on 08/02/05 at 19:09:03

Oliver I am one step ahead of you I zipped it and sent it to you last night. It should be in both of your e-mail boxes.
Oliver CoppPosted on 08/02/05 at 19:54:53

No dice, Shawn... it's in neither...
Oliver CoppPosted on 08/02/05 at 23:00:11

It just arrived *now*. I knew that AOL was slow but this is ridiculous ;)
triad4evrPosted on 08/05/05 at 02:37:52

Two things on my end- seems to work okay for a very small circuit I run but it is not working for either of my larger circuits and I think I know why- in my two larger circuits, I had it set to let me put in comments between each match- and in Circuit Editor, it shows those comments as, evidently, matches, instead of in the Comments tab- I know you were looking into this a long time ago but I never heard what you came up with. So, I'm thinking it can't figure out what to do with the comments. It goes from the Parsing Data box, which then disappears, and nothing else happens, my circuit window remains open but is unresponsive.

Also, none of the download links for the plugin appear to be working.

Thanks in advance!
triad4evrPosted on 08/05/05 at 02:58:07

Well, update, I tried another older circuit that is nearly as large as the other two and it didn't work either! Eventually it crashed and gave me the "report to Microsoft" window. This one _doesn't_ have comments with every match and it still seems not to be working...
Oliver CoppPosted on 08/05/05 at 09:58:38

triad - I'm sending you the very latest version that I finished yesterday.

So either that's going to work for you or - if not -, I ask you to please send me your TNM. As in every other case so far, I'll return you a new version of the Circuit History plugin most likely within 24 hours.

There are so many possibilities for match results in TNM - and with the ability to edit results ex post, you can't have a perfect plugin from the start.
triad4evrPosted on 08/06/05 at 02:22:57

Will do. Sending it as soon as I strip out the Media section.

Alright, I am finally home.  For the first guess:

Wrestlers:  573
Moves:       859
Managers:  40

As for the second guess, I couldnt get that to work.  I got to the "cmd" screen.  But, after that I cant get anything to work with the line you want me to type.

Oliver CoppPosted on 08/06/05 at 19:30:58

The moves are a bit on the high side. Running the Database Cleaner on the move database plugin might help.

After the black cmd screen is open, just copy and paste the next line and hit RETURN:

mem /c > c:\mem.txt

It won't give you any output but a new prompt (i.e., it'll look like nothing happened). That's because its output had been redirected to the file C:\MEM.TXT.

When you open that file in Notepad, what does it contain?

Thanks,

Oliver

That's perfectly fine... it's more than I have.

In that case, I really do recommend checking if the Database Cleaner can help.
Psymin1Posted on 08/07/05 at 21:30:51

Only problem here is that I dont have the Database Cleaner and my trial has already expired for it.  Any other suggestions, or was that my last resort??

~Psymin
Oliver CoppPosted on 08/07/05 at 23:31:50

Not even I can give you another trial period for plugins... security is pretty darn tight.

You *could* send me your TNM, and I'd run it for you using my codes.
