Week 38 - RumbleClash '84 Primer
Coming November 18, 1984
From Philadelphia, PA

[hr]

-- Tag Team Title match:
Champions The Midnight Express vs Ron Garvin & Rick Steamboat

The Midnight Express are in the midst of their third Tag Team Title reign in Championship Wrestling, having defeated most of the top teams from all over the world.  At RumbleClash, they face the team of Rick Steamboat and Ron Garvin, a team that holds a disqualification win over the Express.  Garvin and Steamboat appear to have a love/hate relationship that has seen some very strange actions on the parts of both men, but if they can get on the same page, the Midnight Express could be saying goodbye to the title currently in their possession.

Prediction:

[hr]

-- Anything Goes - Falls Count Anywhere:
Road Warrior Hawk vs Maxx Payne

Starting back on August 26, these two men were introduced to Championship Wrestling fans in the first ever unsanctioned, anything goes match held in a Championship Wrestling ring.  Since then, they have had many matches, and even tagged on occasion.  At RumbleClash, these two meet one more time.  And this time it will be in a match similar to their first match with us as it will be an anything goes, falls count anywhere match.

Prediction:

[hr]

-- Tony Atlas & Rocky Johnson vs The Wild Samoans

The war between these two teams started in the World Wrestling Federation and has since been brought to Championship Wrestling.  First with the appearance of Tony Atlas and Rocky Johnson, and then with Captain Lou and the Wild Samoans following them into the area, making their debut in Championship Wrestling on October 7 against Atlas and Johnson in Raleigh, North Carolina.  Since that night, these two teams have been brawling their way through most of the Championship Wrestling arenas.

Prediction:

[hr]

-- Heavyweight Title Match:
Champion Dusty Rhodes vs Lady's Man Terry Allen

The man formerly known as Magnum T.A. had been what seemed to be a very close, long-time, personal friend of Dusty Rhodes, so it came as a shock on June 10, when Magnum T.A. denounced his friendship with Dusty Rhodes and his Magnum T.A. name, to reclaim his identity as Terry Allen while aligning himself with Rhodes's then rivals the Horsemen.  Rhodes got a fast win over Allen on July 29 in their first ever singles meeting since Allen jumped Rhodes.  The following week on August 5, Terry Allen returned the favor by pinning Dusty in Savannah, Georgia.  Arn Anderson and Ric Flair came to the aid of Dusty Rhodes in Augusta, Georgia on August 26, turning their backs on Terry Allen, as Terry Allen had since become "The Lady's Man" and partnering up with Tully Blanchard.  These two men have stepped foot in the same ring in the same match on several occasions since their, but only twice have they had one-on-one encounters with each holding a win.  RumbleClash has even more meaning to it, since their feud escalates even further as Dusty Rhodes puts the Heavyweight Title on the line against Terry Allen.

Prediction:

[hr]

-- Who will the match #1 and who will be #30?

Arn Anderson and Ron Garvin ended their match with a double countout last week as they battled for the right to be the coveted thirtieth entrant into the RumbleClash match.  Who will be awarded #30 and who will have to enter the ring first to kick off the main event?

-- RumbleClash

Prediction: I'm inclined to go with CotD for some reason, but just to be different, I'm gonna say Jimmy Valiant.  Valiant vs. Rhodes would make a nice match to build up to since they were partners in the begining of CW.
