Ricky Morton was unable to be cleared by the doctors for tonight's card, but Gibson brought a partner.  He called upon the Ragin' Bull to be his tag team partner here tonight.

This one went to a double countout but the fans got their money's worth as all four men were brawling at ringside as senior referee Tommy Young called for the bell.

And who's this!?!  On his crutches!  It's Ricky Morton!  And from behind with a clip to the knee, it's Terry Allen on Morton's bad leg!

OH NO!  And out comes Dusty Rhodes to run off Terry Allen as he checks on Morton.

Join us next week in Savannah, Georgia as Paul Jones and Jimmy Valiant will be in tag team action.  And Waylon Mercy makes a mandatory defense of the Heavyweight Title against Steve Armstrong.

Until next time, so long everybody!

Steve Armstrong gets a good win to get some momentum back going into his title rematch with Waylon Mercy.  Dominant win by Dusty, and R'n'R retain.  Not a bad show.

The one thing about this setup I really like is that when a title is defended, it makes yuo really look forward to it.  I enjoy that.
americamamushiPosted on 09/05/04 at 23:25:25

I'm thinking Gary & Kabuki are gonna be giving Armstrong the assist against Mercy.  This J-Tex Corperation intrigues me.  I'm not too familiar with Gary Hart's work, is this something he had/did for real?  Or is this just Rick Garrard's clever wrestling mind at work.  Hee hee, Ricky Morton coming down after the match is like in horror movies when the 15 year old virgin knows theres a killer on the loose, but enters the abandoned house anyway and leaves the door open, poor bastard.  ;D

Thanks for the comments.  And this is one of the build up shows for future blow off matches, so it did it's job.  :)

That's one of the great things about booking old school style.  Also I have tried to keep both titles have equal importance.

J-Tex was pretty much what Hart always referred to his group's backing (his money men) when he was in Texas as the other heel manager along with Skandar Akbar.  I believe he also referred to J-Tex when he was managing Muta in the NWA as well.

Hee hee, Ricky Morton coming down after the match is like in horror movies when the 15 year old virgin knows theres a killer on the loose, but enters the abandoned house anyway and leaves the door open, poor bastard.
That analogy had me laughing so hard I was almost crying.  And that's only cause it is SO true.  You just had to know that when he came out, he was gonna get destroyed some how.

Now to cast a shadow of doubt out there.. just WHY was he out there, when he wasn't even cleared to be out there?

(yes I'm such a tease for this)
