Ole Anderson made his way to ringside early in this one, and actually threw a frying pan in for Ron Garvin to use.  One has to speculate if Ole was trying to get Garvin disqualified for the use of the illegal object.  This one did end in disqualification when Condrey refused to release a chokehold thusly giving Ron Garvin the #1 contendership to the Heavyweight Title held by Arn Anderson.

Tonight on the card, Wahoo McDaniel & Billy Jack Haynes team to take on Nikita Koloff & Paul Jones.  Ivan Koloff does battle with Dusty Rhodes.  Krusher Khrushchev steps in the ring against Jimmy Valiant.  In non-title action, Beautiful Bobby faces Heavyweight Champion Arn Anderson.  Magnum T.A. and Rick Steamboat face off with Tully Blanchard & Ric Flair in tag team action.  And in the main event, the Tag Team Titles are on the line as the champions Masa Saito and Riki Chosyu defend against the #1 contenders Ricky and Robert, The Rock N Roll Express.

It appears that Ricky Morton has just been jumped while on his way to the ring by the Midnight Express.

Robert Gibson needs a partner, and Manny Fernandez is out to help check on Ricky Morton.  It looks like Manny is going to take Morton's place here this evening in the main event.

The Ishingun retain the titles here this week, taking on the makeshift team of Gibson and Fernandez.  Can the Ishingun continue to hold on to the titles while keeping up their rigorous travel schedule in Japan?

Join us next week as Ivan Koloff and Krusher Khrushchev take on Dusty Rhodes and Jimmy Valiant in a tag team chain match.  And Arn Anderson defends the Heavyweight Title against Ron Garvin.

Until next week, so long everybody!

Ole with... a frying pan?  I guess that really cooked his sausage.... I'm so sorry for that. ;)

I'm curious as to Ole (and Arn's) true agenda here tonight.  Was Ole trying to get Garvin DQed? Or was Ole trying to give Garvin the edge over Loverboy?  Which did Arn feel was less of a threat?

I'm surprised Wahoo was able to block that second piledriver after falling off the ladder and then getting dropped on his head once.  Too bad the time limit ran out.

:o wow... Eaton over Anderson? Thank god it was non-title.

I don't think Ishigun's days as champs are numbered.  Being back and forth so much has to take it's toll.  Although they got lucky tonight.  With Morton out Gibson didn't stand a chance even with his temporary partner.

Anderson/Garvin next month is gonna rock.  I think Anderson will retain, most likely with a little help from his friends.  (Maybe Ole will cook his sausage too... ok, seriously, I'll stop saying that  ;D)
Critic of the DawnPosted on 08/02/04 at 19:02:59

The poor Russkies just can't seem to catch a break!  They haven't won anything in approximately forever.

Also, damn that was a lot of Bionic Elbows!  I'm surprised the match didn't end faster.  How have you managed to ensure that doesn't happen?  Do you just keep using the C key, or have you droppoed Dusty's push rating sharply so that he usually won't get a pin with his finisher?

Eric "Critic of the Dawn"
Rick GarrardPosted on 08/03/04 at 00:36:26

yes lotsa Bionic Elbows.  The only thing I have done is set match length to 8.  As far as it ending sooner.. I wish it would have... it would have ended the misery of watching the WWE syndrome of wash rinse repeat until you get a pinfall from Rhodes.

As for the Russians, well... they just can't seem to get a win ever.

And Mushi.. I'm curious to Ole's true agenda as well.  Should be fun watching that one unfold.

As for Wahoo.. He was probably as surprised as I was when it was a ladder match (a booking oops on my end of things).

Eaton always faired well in the real NWA when challenging Ric Flair in non-title matches.  So it's only fitting that he did it in CW as well.

and yes Anderson vs Garvin should be a real good matchup.

Critic of the DawnPosted on 08/03/04 at 06:05:29

I'm telling you, Rick, all you have to do to make Dusty's matches a bit more competitive is to change his moveset a bit.  Give him a series of jabs as the setup to the Bionic Elbow.  He'd still be a repetitive brawler, but he wouldn't be quite as overpowering.
