The Ishingun showed just why they are the tag team champions in our opening match here tonight.  Wahoo and Billy Jack were obviously overlooking this match as they prepare to face each other in the first round of the tournament next week.

Tonight on the card, we have the bullrope match that was supposed to happen last week between Magnum T.A. and Tully Blanchard.  Paul Jones faces Manny Ferenandez yet again.  Robert Gibson takes Rock N Roll into his match against the Midnight Express's Bobby Eaton.  It's no disqualification as Dennis Condrey takes on Rick Steamboat.  Ricky Morton takes on Arn Anderson in what could very well be a preview of the finals of the tournament next week.  And in the main event, 13 men enter into a battle royal for the eighth and final spot in the tournament with the winner facing Arn Anderson in the first round.

Sakes alive... Ole Anderson wins.  Will the Championship Wrestling officials allow for Ole to face Arn in the first round?  They are a tag team much like Wahoo and Billy Jack.

Next week join us in Norfolk, Virginia from the Scope Coliseum as we crown our very first Championship Wrestling Heavyweight Champion.

Until next week, so long everybody!

Excellent show, Rick.  I'm really enjoying CW so far.  I'm somewhat surprised that Ole Anderson picked up the win in the battle royal, but from what I remember in BCW, I wouldn't be surprised to see him coming out with your heavyweight title... again!

So... yeah.  My pick for the winner of the Tourney is Ole Anderson.  Just got a good feeling about him.

Congrats on the ****1/4 match, by the way.  It's hard to get a lot of those if you don't use booking to make sure that major matches tend to go longer than most.

Still, I'm a bit dissappointed.  No Dusty, Steamboat, Flair, or Koloff in the tournament.  Sure it makes things unpredictable, but it's hard to imagine them not being included in such a major event.

Still looking forward to it, though.

Gibson and Eaton wouldn't have been the two guys I'd have guessed to put on a ****1/4 match this early in the circuit.  And I do have match length set to 8 instead of the default 7, so that helps a bit toward betting more lengthy old school style matches.

As far as the tournament goes, I've had it run for a couple of days now, and I can truly say, we will have a champion crowned.  (Like I'd give away the ending? HA!)

Arn will face Ole in the first round, contrary to what was being hinted at on this card though, as Wahoo will face Billy Jack.  Morton faces Paul Jones and Condrey faces Gibson on the other half the brackets.

8 wrestlers
7 matches
1 champion

Kinda figured he would.  No sense in shifting the brackets of the tournament around wildly, especially when you can get stuff you can use to lead in to a future tag team breakup!
;D
