Ha ha, squat thrusts for the Russians *does a raspberry*  I think Dusty & Valiant are going to have quite the reign as CW tag champions.  I can't wait to see who will win be crowned the first CW world champion either.  I'm predicting Ricky Steamboat or Flair.
Rick GarrardPosted on 07/07/04 at 05:52:16

not just squat thrusts... but also mystery opponents for Krusher and Nikita in tag team action next week.

I made a prediction that Valiant and Dusty would win, just because I wanted the finals to be the Midnight Express vs the Rock N Roll Express... which it obviously didn't.  That's what happens when you go unbooked though.  :)

And as much as I'd like to see a Flair vs Steamboat match for the heavyweight title, I can see something more toward an Arn Anderson vs Ron Garvin match, just cause my TNM likes to play mind games with me.

And Ole Anderson is still out injured with that ankle sprain.  Bah.

Critic of the DawnPosted on 07/08/04 at 06:22:59

Dusty Rhodes will win the Heavyweight Title.  You heard it here first.

The Armstrong Brothers look like a good fit in CW.  If they stick around, they should do well in your new Tag Team Division.  That is, if anyone can get the title off of Dusty and Valiant. ;D

I'm still eagerly awaiting your newest signing.  I really like the unpredictability the mystery wrestler mechanic adds to this rule set, and all things considered, there's a good chance that the people brought in will be more familiar to me than some of the guys here, who I know only by name and reputation.

Critic of the Dawn brings a good question to mind, forgive me if you've already answered it somewhere and I missed it.  Since you're starting off with an era based roster, will the mystery opponents be from the general era too?  Or is it a full database.

Here's hoping that Big John Studd makes and appearance once Dusty Rhodes wins the title (I'm holding you to that CotD :)) and they have a drawn-out feud.  Dunno why... just cause. ;D
Rick GarrardPosted on 07/08/04 at 07:45:00

very good question about the database I am using.

I tried very hard to use as many of the older 70's & 80's guys as possible when importing guys, granted I did bring in some other more current talents as well, but they had to meet some criteria to make the cut.  (either a fave of mine, or current style that would have worked in the era of this circuit)

And yes Big John Studd is in this database.  :)

And I have unchecked that the Figure Four can pin an opponent due to the "always pins for a win" bug involved with it.

And I can tell you that the Russians "mystery opponents" are from the Land of the Rising Son for the next card.

was a big fan of BCW, now a bigger fan of CW, as NWA Mid-Atlantic was my all-time favorite area. ;D

This is similar to a circuit I was trying to start, but never got around to.

You did answer one question I had regarding your databse, but i have another...

was Rising Son an intentional misspelling ;)

another question just popped into my mind...

have you edited any wrestlers, i.e push, workrate, etc.
or did you just use them as they were in the database.
I did see you unchecked the figure-four pin.

Just wondering, and sorry for rambling on.

no it was a quick reply late at night, so that would be a typo on my part.  But they are from the Land of the Rising Sun.  :)

Good questions... and I did edit Paul Jones.  :)  well actually I created him from the Ivan Koloff export and highly modified it.  and yes I did uncheck the figure four pin, considering the number of guys I have that use it.  And for now I have used the guys just as they were in the initial database.  But depending on how things go, that may change.  The one factor that I did change is that I set match lengths to 8 instead of the default 7, which I feel is more fitting to a classic style circuit.
