The Horsemen didn't get the win here due to Ole intentionally attacking referee Tim White in this match.  This made Ole snap.  After the match, Ole started ripping at La Parka's mask while the bloodied Arn was busy brawling with Cactus Jack on out the floor.  Ole then put La Parka in the sleeper and started to unlace the mask.  And out comes...

Chris Jericho!!  For the save on La Parka!  Ole bails and motions that the BCW Title is going to be his next week.

Crazy Bob proved that he's really THAT crazy in this one as he pulled referee James Beard in the way of a Val Venis clothesline which eventually led to the disqualification when Beard regained his senses.  Backlund then protested first to senior official Earl Hebner and then to Beard but neither would listen to him.  So Backlund in his craziness went to the floor, and he's got the timekeeper!  It's the crossface chicken wing!

Bob has snapped!  And the refs are out to break the hold.  And Backlund has a smile of sheer delight on his face.

BCW Event Center

It's time for BCW Event Center:
This is a new segment for BCW.  Welcome fans.

Barry Dudley is said to be unhappy with the current direction of his character.  Perhaps that is why he is not in the arena tonight.

Let's go to nWo presents member Ivan Koloff for his thoughts:

Ivan: "Barry Dudley, Mulligan, Windham... whatever you are.  It is me Uncle Ivan.  I am the Russian Bear and next week, I have hand selected a tag team partner.  You bring a friend if you have any, and I'll be bringing this man.  {Ivan holds up a photo of Terry Funk!}"

Ivan Koloff and Terry Funk taking on Barry and a mystery partner next week!

But that's not all that nWo presents has planned.  Let's go to Kevin Nash and Sid Vicious:

Nash: "Sid, you know, we've been beating people up thanks to Mr. Backlund's funding for some time here in BCW.  And it's time for us to face some REAL competition.  So next week, you and I, Sid have this open contract {Nash holds up an official looking piece of paper} to face ANYONE in BCW that will sign it."

Sid: "Kev, that's right.  We are the masters and rulers of BCW and there's no way that ANYONE here can beat us with Mr. Backlund's money and Ivan's training, we are destined to be the tag team champions here in BCW!"

An open challenge from nWo presents' top tag team.  One has to wonder just which BCW team will accept.

Also next week, the BCW Champion La Parka defends against Ole Anderson in main event.  That's all from the BCW Event Center.  Stay tuned for more BCW action.

Match with Special Referee Lance Storm:
Chris Jericho made Ric Flair submit to the Lion Tamer in 0:12:18.
Rating: *** 3/4

Lance Storm was very quick to call for the submission in this one as he knows of the pain of the Lion Tamer since he was Jericho's former partner here in BCW.  This allowed Flair to suffer almost no damage to his back, and ended up becoming a two on one against Jericho, as the Horsemen seem to be riding tall here tonight!  Flair has locked the figure four on Jericho.  Who will stop this?

On their way to the ring for the main event... it's...

John Tatum and Col. DeBeers?!  With the save?!  for Jericho?!

Tatum with a superkick on Storm that sends Storm flying over the top and down to the floor.  And DeBeers with his Diamond Cutter Facedriver on Flair!  And he throws Flair to the floor through the ropes and the fans are going crazy!  They help Jericho to his feet!  And they raise his hand!

Great card as usual.  My only real complaint is the post-match "Oh crap, he's got the title... wait, no!  Awww!  Such respect for the new champion!" spot seems to be overdone.  I'm not saying it isn't effective, but I don't know that one of those spots has ever ended up with the champion laid out.  It's always a respectful presentation of the title rather than a smack upside the head with 15 pounds of gold.  And, as such, there's not much suspense to it.  It's still classy, but... ya know.

Poor Flair hasn't been doing that well since his return.  And Crazy Bob's first BCW match is a DQ loss to Val Venis?  That's a shame.

On the plus side, Tatum and DeBeers are new Tag Team Champs.  They definately deserve the belts after teaming together for so long and with such little success.  Did you up their push or something, or is it just happenstance that they're winning a lot more often?

Eric "Critic of the Dawn"
Rick GarrardPosted on 04/29/04 at 04:37:30

Oh eventually someone getting smashed upside the head with the title belt will happen. It's just a matter of the right guy or guys doing it.  And it being on a "major" card. :) It's just that I was trying to turn Tatum and DeBeers face.. and figured this would be the easiest way.

Flair wasn't doing well before he left the first time either. Crazy Bob may have lost in a DQ, but he's still crazy.

Just happenstance for Tatum and DeBeers... but turning them to the face side might have had some influence on it. ;)
