GLWF Action TV: 3/4/06...

mamushiPosted on 10/11/07 at 04:12:01

Welcome to another exciting edition of GLWF Action TV coming to you from our facilities in Kalamazoo, Michigan!  We've got two great matches lined up tonight one of which will be for the Great Lakes Tag Team titles!  And Joel Gertner and Samoa Joe have a big announcement regarding the future of the #1 Contendership for the Heavyweight title!  I'm being told an angry Rene Dupree is looking for Joel Gertner backstage and we've got a camera following him.

As the camera cuts to the back we see a very angry Rene Dupree walking around the back throwing a tantrum one could equate to the kind thrown by young children as he looked for Commissioner Gertner.  Ernest Miller was right behind him and was sort of half heartedly throwing the same fit.  For every chair Dupree threw, Miller threw a cup. For every staff member Dupree pushed,  Miller would throw the nearest food item on the floor, usually after taking a bite.  And for everything Dupree yelled in his fit of rage, Miller would back up with a loud, triumphant "Yeah!"  Finally they found Gertner, who was none to happy at the mess the odd couple had made.  Gertner asks what the duo want and tell them it'd better be good because he's tipping the janitorial staff with money from Dupree's paycheck.  The French Phenom says he wants Jimmy Jacobs in a match tonight and he won't take no for an answer!  He's irate over what Jacobs did to him last week and he plans on putting Jacobs back on the shelf for ANOTHER year.  Joel Gertner says that Rene can have his match all right... but Ernest Miller will be banned from ringside!  Dupree doesn't look happy that his buddy will be banned, but what Gertner says is final and we have ourselves another match signed for this evening.

Josh Abercrombie vs. Sonny Siaki

It'd been almost a year to the day since the first time Josh Abercrombie and Sonny Siaki had been across the ring from each other in a GLWF set for singles action and despite the fact that the first win belongs to Abercrombie (albeit via countout) three more encounters after that have labeled Sonny Siaki as the victor.  Even in just the few months since their last encounter the two have become quite different people.  Both men brought their A-Game and the match was fairly evenly matched.  Josh Abercrombie thought he had Siaki down enough to pop up top for a high risk move, but it proved fatal for him.  Siaki crotched him and hit a big superplex for the win.

Sonny Siaki pinned Josh Abercrombie after a superplex in 0:12:59.

At this point in the evening Samoa Joe makes his entrance with the Great Lakes Heavyweight title on his shoulder, Traci Brooks on one side and GLWF Commissioner Joel Gertner on the other.  They make their way down to the ring to the cheers of the fans as they have been promised a big announcement as to how the next #1 contender for the Great Lakes Heavyweight title will be determined.  Joel Gertner gets on the microphone and says that he was thinking about it and they really need to make sure that Samoa Joe faces the most deserving man in the GLWF.  He's thought of the perfect way to decide who that man really was.  He's going to revive something he hasn't seen in wrestling for a while.  GLWF is going to have a good old fashion Battlebowl!  24 men will be placed on 12 teams at random.  Those 12 teams will face off in 6 matches.  The winning team from each match will be put into a 12-man battle royal on April 8th and the winner of that battle royal will be proclaimed the most worthy man in GLWF to face Samoa Joe and next week, those 12 teams will be announced right here on Action TV.

"Hussamania" Jimmy Jacobs vs. "The French Phenom" Rene Dupree with "The Cat" Ernest Miller banned from ringside

It was obvious that Rene Dupree was still extremely unhappy that his partner in crime Ernest Miller wouldn't be ringside for this match with Jimmy Jacobs tonight.  Things started off in favor of Jacobs.  He took control and latched onto it, the thought of Dupree putting him on the shelf for a year still fresh in his mind.  His offense was fast and furious and thankfully better than the movie of the same name.  Rene Dupree almost didn't know what to do with Jimmy's explosive offense.  He kept seemingly to look to where Ernest Miller should have been for help, but none was there and none was coming.  Dupree finally found an opening that he was able to run with and kept Jacobs from shutting him down after a few moves.  Dupree didn't play fair, but he wasn't getting caught either so it was working in his favor.  Dupree hit a Michinoku Driver for what he must've assumed was the win because he was shocked when Jacobs kicked out.  He locked in the Cobra Clutch right after and thought for sure he had the match won.  Jacobs seemed to be fading.  He just couldn't seem to fight out.  The referee dropped the arm once... then twice... but the final time it just wouldn't go down!  Jacobs was fighting and putting all he had into it.  He shoved Dupree back into the corner hard, causing him to release the hold.  Jacobs immediately grabbed the French Phenom's head and ran across the ring, jumped up the turnbuckle and hit the Contra Code!  Jacobs hooks the leg... one... two... three!

[Ernest Miller Banned From Ringside]:
Jimmy Jacobs pinned Rene Dupree with the Contra Code in 0:14:01.

H.B. Cade's music hits and he comes out to the ring.   He's got his grumpy face on and once he has a microphone in hand he yells for them to "shut that damned music off."  Cade says that he's tired of losing, he's tired of letting people walk all over him and he's damn sure tired of playing by the rules like a nice guy and paying the price for it.  He's not some Shawn Michaels impersonating goof damn it!  He's Lance Cade!  And next week things are gonna change.  You better damn well believe it.

Main Event for the Great Lakes Tag Team Titles: Team No Fear (Tank Toland & Eric Young) vs. High Impact (Tony Santorelli & Mike Taylor) w/ Tracy Taylor vs. Mr. Kennedy & GLWF TV Champion Petey Williams vs. Los Corazones Negros (Hector Garza & Mistico) (c) w/ Shocker

Our main event tonight was going to be a doozy.  Eight great wrestlers all in one match all fighting for the Great Lakes Tag Team titles.  While the fans were getting quite the treat this evening, our tag team champions Los Corazones Negros were at a distinct disadvantage.  This match wasn't elimination style.  It was one fall to win.  The champions didn't even have to be involved in the fall to lose.  In fact, they HAD to win if they wanted those gold straps to still be around their waists when they woke up tomorrow morning.  Shocker was able to make a few attempts at helping his boys during the match, but for the most part the sheer number of guys that didn't want Shocker involved got their way.  The match was very fluid and flowing and it was hard to pick out exactly who was going to take it as at every turn it seemed like it might be someone else.  Garza & Mistico seemed to be scrapping the most as they did indeed have the most to lose and it wore on them.  Petey Williams and Mr. Kennedy seemed to have a few blaring difficulties with their respective egos clashing.  Tank Toland had the usual problem of a very talented, though very pensive Eric Young and Tony Santorelli and Mike Taylor seemed to have the least amount of strife which proved the deciding factor at the end of the match when a giant cluster fuck devolved into High Impact in the ring with Hector Garza.  Mike Taylor hit the Wipe Out (A reverse lungblower) which Santorelli followed with the Crash Diet (a flying swandive senton) otherwise known as the Daring Combination when used in succession.  Taylor grabs the pin with Santorelli making sure no one can break up the pinfall.  The ref counts the three and we have new tag team champions!

[Main Event]: Four Corners Match:
High Impact (Tony Santorelli and Mike Taylor) defeated Team No Fear (Tank Toland and Eric Young), Mr. Kennedy and Petey Williams and Los Corazones Negros (Hector Garza and Mistico) when M. Taylor pinned Garza after the Daring Combination in 0:21:29.
Rating: *** 1/4
(High Impact won the Great Lakes Tag Team titles.)

After the match Garza, Mistico and Shocker are quite broken up by the loss and drained after seeming to put so much more into the match than the rest of the teams did.  Mr. Kennedy and Petey Williams were at each other's throats as to whose fault it was that they lost and Tony Santorelli and Mike and Tracy Taylor celebrate their victory in the ring as the fans cheer.  We have ourselves brand new Great Lakes Tag Team champions and next week right here on Action TV we'll hear what they have to say on their victory tonight.  Next week we'll also see Alex Shelley take on Mr. Kennedy, the teams for the first GLWF Battlebowl will be announced and apparently, we'll find out just what Lance Cade meant by his words here tonight.  Thanks for joining us for GLWF Action TV, we'll see you next week!

Ernest Miller is a waster of food!  That scoundrel.  He DESERVES to be banned from ringside after pure evil like that.  How much would it suck if Jacobs DID get put on the shelf another year?

Siaki wins pretty predictably.  When is he gonna make a run at a title?  Soon, methinks.

Battle Bowl!  Yay! *creams*

Dupree looks good, but Jacobs gets the win as he should.  I don't think that one is quite over.

The HB Cade gimmick was fun for awhile, but Cade is a bad ass, and I expect good things from him now that he's back to ol' Lance.

A fun fast paced main event, and we have new tag team champions, huzzah!  I like High Impact, so a cool way to end the show.  Battlebowl announced next week!
