GLWF Action TV: 12/23/05...

americamamushiPosted on 11/14/06 at 21:13:46

Welcome to a very special Christmas edition GLWF Action TV!  Tonight we're once again coming to you live from our home in Kalamazoo, Michigan at the GLWF Facilities for another great night of pro wrestling!  Three matches are lined up for tonight's Holiday special along with a special guest appearance from none other than St. Nicholas himself!  But for now lets get down to our first match of the evening.

Tank Toland vs. "The Cat" Ernest Miller vs. Hector Garza

After last week's main event three matches were made.  This triple threat tonight, another triple threat match next week featuring Rene Dupree, Eric Young and Mistico and finally a triple threat tag team match scheduled to take place January 14th for the Great Lakes Tag Team titles.  The outcomes of tonight's match and next week's match should help gage who will be the team to watch out for come January.  Tank Toland's arm was still hurting, but he wasn't about to let that stop him form wrestling tonight and trying to pull out a win to give him and Eric Young more momentum towards getting the tag team titles he feels they should've won last week.  Unfortunately Toland's arm was an easy and obvious target and was continuously worked over by Miller and Garza.  Toland refused to give up though and just kept coming back for more.  Much of the match seemed to be between Garza and Toland as when they'd get into things Miller would take a powder without either of them noticing and catch his breath.  In the end Garza was wiped out on the floor around ringside after being shoved off the top rope by Toland.  Toland turned around and ducked a savate kick from Miller and hit a couple jabs with his good arm which stunned Miller.  Tank went for the Tank Turret, but Miller ducked and hit a backdrop, quickly latching on a cross armbreaker.  To Toland's credit he refused to give up, but a great deal of damage had already been done to his arm and it was only a matter of time before he was overcome with the pain and passed out, giving Miller the win tonight.

Triangle Match:
Ernest Miller defeated Hector Garza and Tank Toland when E. Miller defeated Tank when Tank passed out in a cross armbreaker in 0:12:35.

It appears that Kris Kringle is on his way to the ring as "Here Comes Santa Claus" plays over the PA.  The jolly fat man himself makes his way down to the ring, ho ho hoing and handing out candy canes to the kids in the audience.  He tosses his bag of toys into the ring and then proceeds to climb in himself.  He asks Clara Michaels for the microphone and coaxes her into an innocent kiss on the cheek before giving her a candy cane as well.  Santa starts off by saying that he's glad to see so many good boys and girls in the audience this evening and gets himself a cheap pop by mentioning how Kalamazoo is his favorite stop while making all his Christmas time toy deliveries.  Santa then gets down to business by inviting "Savage" Siaki down to the ring.  Siaki meanders his way down to the ring.  He gets in the ring but seems to be a little bit leery of Saint Nick.  Santa says he's got a very special present for Siaki this Christmas.  Something he thought he had lost long ago.  Thats when Santa pulled something that we haven't seen in several months out of his bag.  Something that we never thought we'd see again.  Something made of cardboard, with sparkles, racing stripes and for some reason unicorn stickers.  Something that had once been ripped in half but was now being held together by a lovely bit of duct tape.  Something labeled as the "Universal Championship."  Something in Siaki seemed to click all of the sudden.  Someone turned the lights back on.  He wasn't sure quite what to say or what to do, but you was obvious that "Savage" Siaki was gone and Sonny Siaki was back.  Santa told Siaki merry Christmas, but Siaki didn't seem to be able to respond.  He was in a state of awe and shock to see his Universal title again, almost nine months after it was destroyed by the Amazing Red.

Gunner Scott & "The Angry Amish Chicken Plucker" Roadkill vs. The Age of Shane (Nigel McGuinness & Austin Aries)

Things were pretty even from start to finish.  Everyone seemed to want to see Scott and Nigel go at it, but they never seemed to really get the meeting between the two that they wanted.  Nigel would either tag out once Scott was tagged in or he'd demand that Aries tag him in if Scott had already been dazed and he could take easy advantage of the situation.  It didn't so much seem like Nigel didn't want to wrestle Scott, but more that he was trying to play mind games with him.  Roadkill almost finished McGuinness off with the Barn Burner, but Nigel slid off of Roadkill's shoulders and dropkicked him into Gunner Scott in the corner, knocking him hard to the ground off the apron.  At this point Austin Aries got in on the action and he and McGuinness double teamed Roadkill.  Scott got up, but before he could get into the ring to help his partner Austin Aries flew through the air and landed on him with a plancha as in the ring Nigel hit a big DDT and got the pin thanks to some help from the ropes.

The Age of Shane (Austin Aries and Nigel McGuinness) defeated Gunner Scott and Roadkill when N. McGuinness pinned Roadkill after a DDT in 0:09:06.
Rating: *** 1/2

After the match as Scott is tending to his partner Nigel gets on the microphone and tells Gunner that was the pinfall he should've gotten last week and that next week he's going to make sure that he starts the new year on a high note by finishing things between he and Scott and making sure that it's a long time before Gunner is seen in GLWF.  He challenges Scott to a 2-out-of-3 falls match which Gunner of course accepts without hesitation.

Main Event for the GLWF Television Title: "Public Enemy #1" Shannon Moore vs. Alex Shelley (c)

In this meeting Shannon Moore seemed to have more of his mind on the match than he's had on any of his matches really since Jim Cornette's investigation started.  This was a huge opportunity for Shannon and he was wrestling a hell of a match.  The problem was that Shelley was wrestling well too, breaking them just about even for the most part.  The match poured to the outside and the referee was pretty willing to give these two some extra time, not wanting to be forced to count the men out.  Shannon leaned Shelley up against the corner post, set up a chair and tried for a spinning leg lariat off the chair, but Shelley got out of the way and Moore hit his legs hard against the corner post.  This opened things up for Shelley a big more as he could smell the blood in the water and started to work over Moore's hurt leg.  Moore seemed to be having a hard time walking or even putting much weight on his leg but he was being a real trooper and playing through the pain.  He managed to hit the Mooregasm, but couldn't capitalize quickly enough with a pinfall attempt so Shelley was able to kick out at two by the time Moore covered him.  Shannon Moore tried to go up top again for another Mooregasm attempt, but Shelley caught him before he left the turnbuckle.  Shelley climbed up and teased a Shell Shock from the turnbuckle before Moore managed to shove him off.  Shelley quickly stumbled back to his feet, but Moore came flying off with an attempt at a flying hurracanrana, which Shelley countered with a powerbomb.  He managed to get two and nine tenths, but Shannon amazingly kicked out.  Both men were pretty wiped out but struggled to their feet as the ref neared ten.  They swung at eachother with a few slow rights.  Back and forth until Shelley blocked one and quickly attempted a brain buster, but Moore kicked his good leg and Shelley was forced to drop him.  Moore shoved Shelley who ran into the ref and took him down.  It was at this point that Josh Abercrombie came darting out of no where and slid into the ring behind Moore... TALIBAN BACKPACK!  Moore is out!  Shelley didn't seem to see what happened though.  He crawls over to Moore and picks him up, it takes a few moments longer than normal since Moore seems to be dead weight and Shelley is running on fumes after a hard match.  He uses every last ounce of fight to hit Moore with a brain buster and drapes his arm across Moore... one... two... three!  Alex Shelley has retained the Television title once again.

[Main Event]:
Alex Shelley pinned Shannon Moore after a brain buster in 0:21:19.

[Josh Abercrombie interfered against Shannon Moore.]

Right after the match before Shelley can even be handed the title by the ref out runs Harry Smith!  He slides in and attack Shelley, easily overpowering the tired champion.  The two brawl around the ringside area and eventually disappear to the back at which point Jim Cornette emerges from the back.  It's obvious that Shannon really doesn't want to deal with this right now after his loss thanks to Josh Abercrombie.  Cornette has a big smile on his face as he holds out a set of car keys in front of him.  He grabs a microphone once he gets in the ring and asks Shannon if he knows what those are.  Cornette says they're keys to a car, the car that hit Raven to be exact.  He then asks Moore is he knows where he found them.  Moore says he doesn't, but Cornette quickly fills him in to the fact that they were found in Shannon's duffel bag.  Moore tries to tell Cornette that he's never seen those before and doesn't know where they came from but Cornette tells him to shut his mouth before he digs his hole any deeper.  Cornette says these keys are the only evidence he needs so he now is able to issue punishment.  He wanted to turn Shannon over to the authorities, but the GLWF has decided that things will be settled the old school way by keeping Moore's punishment within the business.  Thats why two weeks from tonight at the first GLWF show of 2006 Shannon Moore will face off against Josh Abercrombie in a hardcore match.  Cornette adds that when Shannon loses, not if but when, that he'll be fired from the GLWF!  Cornette finishes by saying that his work here is done and gives Moore a sarcastic "Good luck you little reject" before leaving the ring.  Moore doesn't seem to know what to make of the situation, but as the show ends we see that Abercrombie has re-appeared at the entrance curtain with a big smile across his face as he stares down Moore.

Right or wrong, planted or not Cornette has evidence and has formally accused Shannon Moore of taking out Raven by hitting him with a car several months ago behind the GLWF Facilities here in Kalamazoo.  Now with Cornette's job done all that is left is for Moore's punishment: A hardcore match with Josh Abercrombie set for two weeks from tonight.  Given the stipulations you have to think that Josh Abercrombie is going to pull out all the stops against Shannon Moore.  And what about that visit from Santa Claus tonight?  The little hamster wheel in Siaki's head seems to be turning again after Santa repaired and gave back Siaki's Universal title which, thanks to the Amazing Red's destroying it all those months ago, led Siaki down the path of madness that eventually turned him into "Savage" Siaki.  With this show in the books we've got but one show left in 2005 and it'll take place at a special time in the early afternoon of New Years Eve.  Scheduled for next week is Eric Young vs. Mistico vs. Rene Dupree in triple threat action, Ron Killings faces Mr. Kennedy and in the main event it'll be Gunner Scott vs. Nigel McGuinness 2-out-of-3 falls!  We'll see you then.  From everyone here at GLWF good night and Happy Holidays everybody!

Ernest Miller is a ninja!  Good win for him that gives the Odd Couple momentum going into the new year.  Toland needs to take off the holidays to rest.

THE UNIVERSAL TITLE IS BACK!  I saw what you were trying to do with Siaki, but it just wasn't clicking with him being a savage.  The Universal Title stuff was always highly entertaining though, and this was a great way to bring it back.  He should have at least bag tagged Santa though. :)

Oh that Age of Shane.  Being all devious to sneak a win.  Scott vs. Nigel, 2 of 3 falls will be good though.

Great main event, despite the interference (which makes sense, by the way).  You've managed to make Abercrombie interesting to me, so more power to you for that.  Shelley's still the champion, as well he should be.  And Moore has been framed!  Who put the car keys in his bag?  Either way, Moore/Abercrombie hardcore oughta be a good one.
