GLWF Action TV: 11/19/05...

americamamushiPosted on 08/14/06 at 23:23:56

Welcome to GLWF Action TV!  We're coming to you live from the GLWF Facilities in Kalamazoo, Michigan for a great night of wrestling action!  Tonight we've got some great action for you including the wrestling debut of the Age of Shane's Chris Masters against the #1 contender for the Great Lakes Heavyweight title Samoa Joe.  To start the show the lights are dimmed and a spotlight placed on the center of the GLWF ring where an Eddie Guerrero T-Shirt is draped over a chair as the ring bell is struck 10 times in memorial for GCW wrestler Eddie Guerrero.  After which Clara Michaels formally welcomes everyone to Action TV, but before we get to any matches we've just gotten word that Shannon Moore is backstage looking for Josh Abercrombie, lets see whats going on.

We're show the locker room area just as Shannon Moore walks up to Josh Abercrombie, who is taping his wrists for his match with Delirious.  Shannon Moore isn't terribly happy and tells Abercrombie that he knows what he did and that he'd better tell the truth or he's going to be sorry.  Right as Shannon says that last part Jim Cornette had walked up behind him.  Cornette startled him by mentioning how that doesn't sound like something an innocent man would say.  An innocent man would let the truth speak for him.  Shannon tried to backtrack, but with no luck.  Cornette reminds Shannon that he's got his eye on him and it's just a matter of time before he finds the evidence to formally accuse him as he walks away.  Abercrombie adds a smug "Shannon... I have no idea what you're talking about anyway.  Lie? Me?  Never.  Especially not about a stand up guy like you.  But I want you to watch my match with Delirious tonight, because I plan on unveiling my new finisher and I want you to see what you're in for if you try and 'make me sorry.'"

Alex Shelley comes out with the TV title around his waist.  He looks like he's all business tonight though.  Once he's got a microphone in his hand he says that he knew that there was a risk by asking Harry Smith to be in his corner, but he thought that Smith was an honorable guy and would respect that he was trying to turn over a new leaf.  Hell, he'd have gladly given Smith a title shot if he had asked to return the favor of him being in his corner.  Now though, he's not going to give Harry Smith a TV title match to return a favor, he's giving him a match to settle a score that he thought had been settled long ago.  The past is the past and he wants to put things to rest once and for all next week!

Josh Abercrombie vs. Delirious

Tonight it seemed like Abercrombie not only wanted to get his hands on Delirious, but also wanted to prove something to Shannon Moore.  He was on Delirious fast and furious.  He had talons sunk into the neck of advantage and he was holding on for dear life.  Delirious managed to kick out of Abercrombie's old finisher, the Phoenix Splash at 2.9 and got a nice combination of reversals going which ended in a Shining Wizard and a short string of hard Delirious Offense.  He hit the Shadows Over Hell for two then tried for a back suplex, but Abercrombie flipped over!  He grabs Delirious... LUNG BLOWER!  Abercrombie calls that the Taliban Backpack!  One... two... three!

Josh Abercrombie pinned Delirious with the Taliban Backpack in 0:08:06.

Backstage we're shown the locker room area where Michael Shane is with the Age of Shane going over tonight's game plan for Chris Masters' match with Samoa Joe.  Needless to say it involves underhanded trickeries and interference as to take Joe out before he and Shane's ladder match in two weeks time.  Traci Brooks comes in and taps Shane on the shoulder.  She wants to talk to him... privately... and pulls him aside.  She asks him, just as she did last week, to not have any interference in the match with Samoa Joe and Chris Masters.  Shane tries to argue with her about it, but doesn't put much effort into it and just agrees, no interference, stating that Chris Masters is a monster, he shouldn't need the extra bodies down there to put Joe out of commission anyway.  Traci thanks Shane and walks off.  Shane definitely doesn't get whats going on in her head since she came back last week.

Tank Toland vs. Hector Garza

Tank Toland took an early lead.  With Lashley's win over Mistico last week, a win for him over Garza tonight would surely garner the Destruction Crew another chance to regain the Great Lakes tag team titles.  Garza was keeping up with Toland nicely, but Tank was in charge.  The match slipped out into the ringside area and it was obvious that Toland wasn't concerned about playing nice, he was concerned about winning and the road back to the titles.  He slammed Garza around as much as he could on the outside, growing his advantage even further.  They stayed outside until the ref counted seven and then Toland rolled Garza back into the ring and got a two count.  It was at this point that Shocker came to the ringside area.  Toland noticed him on his way down and took his attention off of Garza which was a mistake as Garza recovered and hit a big release german suplex!  Both men got up and Toland tried for a clothesline, but Garza pulled the ref in the way.  Toland checked on the ref as Garza went up top and waited for Toland to turn around.  When he finally did Hector came off the top rope, but was met with the Tank Turret when he came down!  Garza was out but there was no one to count!  Thats when Shocker decided to interject himself into the match.  He hit a flying dropkick to Tank's back that landed him neck first on the second rope, setting him up perfectly for the Shockwave!  Shocker revived the ref as both Garza and Toland slowly climbed to their feet.  Garza hit a kick to the midsection and a faceslam for the victory.

Hector Garza pinned Tank Toland after a faceslam in 0:07:56.

[Shocker interfered against Tank Toland.]

After Shocker and Garza have left ringside.  Bobby Lashley comes out seemingly to help his partner, but he doesn't look happy in the least.  He acts for a microphone and says that this was the last straw.  For almost nine months he has carried Toland on his back.  He says he places the blame squarely on Toland for both times that they lost the tag team belts no matter who it was that got pinned.  He used to care about winning the Great Lakes Tag Team belts again, but he can't take having to carry Toland on his back anymore.  He slaps Toland in the face and tells him to find a new partner... because he quits!  Toland is shocked by Lashley's words and actions and seems at a lack for what to say as Lashley walks out without so much as looking back.

"The Angry Amish Chicken Plucker" Roadkill vs. Shannon Moore

Shannon Moore has a lot on his mind tonight as he has the past few weeks and on top of that, he was giving up quite a bit of weight to Roadkill.  It wasn't going to be an easy match for him by any means as he tried to hit Roadkill with a lot of offense, but he just couldn't seem to get the big man down.  Roadkill toyed with Moore a bit and seemed to let Moore get a lot more offense in that he could've otherwise given Roadkill's size and strength.  Moore eventually got smart and started trying to work Roadkill's legs with kicks.  He managed to stay away from most of Roadkill's attempts at really punishing moves, but Moore was definitely taking some damage from the Angry Amish Chicken Plucker.  Eventually Moore tried to take a powder on the outside.  He slid a chair into the ring which the ref immediately grabbed and disposed of, but while he was disposing of it Roadkill stuck his torso through the ropes to try and grab Moore to bring him back in the ring.  Moore had a second chair and hit Roadkill square in the head with it out of frustration.  Roadkill was out and the ref didn't see it.  Moore hit a slingshot senton and got the pinfall.

Shannon Moore pinned Roadkill after a slingshot senton in 0:08:46.

Main Event: Samoa Joe vs. Chris Masters

This match started off a little slow but then again, these were two of GLWF's hosses in the ring.  It was a battle of power, not a battle of speed.  Samoa Joe wore Masters down with hard kicks and punches, but Masters always seemed to come back.  Masters also seemed to have the distinct strength advantage as he was able to simply power out of some of Samoa Joe's attempts of suplexes and slams.  It wasn't like it didn't take effort for him to do it, it took great effort, but none the less Masters was doing it which is not something anyone else thats currently employed by GLWF can say.  Masters wasn't wrestling a technical classic by any means, but he was getting the job done and you could see he was wearing Joe down.  Michael Shane held true to his promise too.  The Age of Shane didn't so much as peek out from behind the curtain during the entire bout.  Samoa Joe had been doing a good job of avoiding the Masterlock up to a point.  When Masters finally locked it in Joe was holding on for dear life and trying anything he could think of to break the hold.  Slamming Masters backwards into the turnbuckle, he even tried low blowing him but even then, Masters just cringed and kept the hold locked in!  Things seemed bleak for Samoa Joe and it was fading.  He seemed to be out so the ref started dropping the arm.  It dropped once... twice... but not a third time!  Joe is still hanging in there.  Since he couldn't fight his way out, he fights and struggles... and eventually gets to the ropes!  Masters hold onto the Masterlock as long as he can without getting DQed, but finally lets it go.  He drags Samoa Joe into the middle of the ring and tries to apply it again, but Samoa Joe doesn't let him!  He hits a big Death Valley Driver out of nowhere!  KOKINA CLUTCH!  Masters is trying to fight out of it but he can't!  And theres no way for him to get over to the ropes!  Masters is struggling, but it's to no avail!  He's refusing to tap out, but he's fading away slowly but surely as the fans erupt with chants of "Choke him out!"  After a longer amount of time than anyone has come close to lasting in the Kokina Clutch the ref checks Masters' arm... it drops once... it drops twice... it drops three times!  Masters has been choked out!  Joe wins!

What a night tonight folks.  Samoa Joe adds a huge win to his momentum going into the ladder match with Michael Shane for the Heavyweight title in two weeks, things between Moore and Abercrombie are starting to heat up again as Shannon remains #1 on Cornette's hit list, and we've witnessed the falling apart of two time Great Lakes Tag Team Champions the Destruction Crew as Bobby Lashley has literally QUIT GLWF!  What does this mean for the tag division?  Los Corazones Negros have to view this as a huge monkey off their back.  Join us next week live from Mount Pleasant, Michigan on the campus of Central Michigan University in CMU's Student Activity Center when we'll see H.B. Cade in action against Public Enemy #1 Shannon Moore, Ron Killings gets a re-match with Ken Kennedy after winning by DQ last week and in the main event it'll be Alex Shelley defending the GLWF Television title against Harry Smith!

Ooooh that Shannon Moore. He is stuck in between a rock and a hard place. Abercrombie is dastardly but I love the fact that he is unveiling a new finisher tonight. that was oen of my favorite things back in the day...I remember when Booker T told everybody before a PPV taht he was unveiling a new move and it was the Harlem Hangover. Classic! A new finisher usually means that the other guy will lose though and I hate to see Delirious lose!

I have a feeling that a match next week won't be enough to settle things between Shelley and Smith. SMELL THE RATINGS~!

Hahaha, the Taliban Backpack. Delirious kicked out of the Phoenix Splash and I'm impressed. Let's see where both of these guys go from here.

Lashley quits! Whoa! I was never a big Tank Toland fan and I kind of saw something like this coming but it will be compelling to see what happens now. Will Lashley get called up or will Toland get a chance to get soem revenge? Questions questions questions.

Moore uses a chair for the victory! SHOCKING~!

Samoa Joe is a man beast. I'm not sure how he'll fare against Michael Shane though...I have a feeling he might be able to pull something out especially since it's a ladder match and they seem to run in his family's blood.

great card!

You are actually starting to make Abercrombie interesting.  This story with Moore and Cornette is actually entertaining.  I like Moore and Cornette, but you've somehow made Abercrombie exciting, so good work. :)

I like the stuff with Alex Shelley and Smith.  It's interesting because you essentially flipped the roles and did it well.  That match should rule.

Taliban Backpack is the best name for a finisher ever.  Abercrombie takes it to Delirious and it looks like Moore is in for more than he bargained for.

Traci again asking for no interference.  It at least means we get a clean main event. :)

Lashley quits after Toland jobs!  I wonder why that is... ;)

Moore gets pissed off, waffles Roadkill with a chair, and wins the match.  Is Cornette going to use his underhanded tactics as another piece of evidence pointing towards his guilt?

Great main event, and was very shocked to see Masters put on such a great match.  Color me impressed.  This did an excellent job of putting both men over.  Well done.

Salivating over the TV Title match next week, by the way.

Last show that not have enough (or any) Cornette. Good to see this remedied immediately. Though Abercrombie's talking like he's going to win tonight, and everybody knows that's not happening.

Good promo from Shelley, and it'll be cool if Shelley makes the match non-title to further the point that it's just going to be a fight, though the whole being a face thing probably means he won't.

Nice name for the Taliban Backpack, but Abercrombie won! NOOOOOOOO [/Vader] And Delirious lost. NOOOOOO [/Vader]

Is Traci feeling sorry for Joe? Or is she just waiting until the World Title match to screw him? The world wants to know.

Good match with Garza and Toland. What's the Shockwave though? It's not his rollup finisher from TNA I assume since that really wouldn't mess Toland up any. And I had thought that JBL's hired goon would be Joe, but reading through this, it's probably Lashley. I hadn't even thought about him as a choice. Unless Lashley just quit at TNM at a coincidental time.

Cornette's turning Moore heel. Soon he'll be all reject-like and hanging out in subway cars. Interesting to see where this goes.

Samoa Joe pulls off the big win against Masters and gets out of the Master Lock with the ropes at least. He looks good going into the World Title match, though I'm curious to see how he'll mess with Shane next.

Yey, Abercrombie gets a win! He's my favorite, if you haven't noticed. You better get Ryan to sign him to a developmental. Delirious is awesome, he should be brought up to GCW to form a faction with D-Ray and Shark Boy. I really hope Delirious does the 1,000 clothesline in the corner move. Taliban backpack is awesome.

Cornette still amuses me, and Shannon Moore really needs to shift the blame on someone else now. Lashley quitting was quite convenient.. wasn't it?

Ooo.. Lashley's got some attitude. Seeing Lashley as a heel in GCW is going to be interesting, as he has been a face so far (or maybe not in OVW?)

Nice to see Joe escape the Masterlock, but since Masters is a "new" wrestler so to speak, I really don't think the Masterlock have been hyped up enough for it to be "worthy" to escape.. If you catch my meaning.. still, nice main event. Has Traci got the Stockholm syndrome or something?
Snabbit888Posted on 08/15/06 at 18:49:54

Abercrombie originally was signed to a developmental deal and was released.  He'll need to do more than beat Delirious to get in my good graces. :)

Poor old Shannon, he just doesn't get any peace and quiet these days. He didn't do it, of course.

Taliban Backpack? HA! That said, how did the announce team know what it was called? That reminds me of when The Undertaker debuted and Gorilla Monsoon had never heard of or seen him before but still knew what Undertaker called his finisher.

STOCKHOLM SYNDROME!

Poor old Tank. Does this mean Lashley is making the step up to GCW or is he just going to beat up Tank Toland?

Shannon wins, I thought maybe Roadkill providing alibis that poor Moore in the guilty frame (even though he's not responsible) would spur on Shannon to deck him and I was right.

Big win for Joe even if he did choke out Masters. Next week is the big step in the story though in the last show before Joe and Shane go at it and I half expect Shane to get the upper hand in that one as Joe has dominated up to now.

Oh yes, Lashley did quit. See ya Bobby, look forward to you facing Rhyno and Abyss very shortly.
91Posted on 08/16/06 at 21:41:18

Just had to come back to this, I'm in the middle of reading Glory right now and Bobby Lashley, as I back-handidly predicted without realising it, has been unveiled as Rhynos opponent.

Everyone now post here about HOW DAMN GOOD I AM! 8)

*edit* I swear on my life I didn't know that was going to happen, by the way.
