GLWF Action TV: 9/24/05...

Welcome to GLWF Action TV!  We're coming to you live from the GLWF Facilities in Kalamazoo, Michigan for a great night of wrestling action!  We've got quite the card in store for you tonight so lets get to the action!

Shannon Moore vs. Josh Abercrombie

Many thought this match was going to be filled with high spots and flying from the very start.  Those people would be wrong.  This started off as a brawl.  Moore attacked Abercrombie as he slid into the ring, but Abercrombie quickly recovered and the two were duking it out with no clear cut advantage.  Moore tried to duck to the outside for some rest, but Abercrombie was having none of that and tried to jump onto him with an asai twisting plancha, but Moore saw it coming and Abercrombie ate floor.  Moore kept it on the outside as long as he could using the floor, the edge of the ring and the ring posts as much as he could to wear Abercrombie down.  He rolled Abercrombie into the ring and tried for the Mooregasm, but Abercrombie fell into the ropes, crotching Moore.  Abercrombie took the advantage back, but was struggling as he took a lot of damage on the outside thanks to Moore.  He got a two count with a Blue Thunder Bomb.  They got up and were exchanging blows.  Moore tried for a clothesline, but Abercrombie ducked and hit a lungblower for two more!  He whipped Moore into the corner and changed in, but when he got their no one was home!  He crashed into the turnbuckle chest first and stumbled back.  Moore popped up top and came off with the Mooregasm for the win!

Shannon Moore pinned Josh Abercrombie with the Mooregasm in 0:10:06.

Non-Title Match: "The Cat" Ernest Miller & "The French Phenom" Rene Dupree vs. The Destruction Crew ("Bulldozer" Bobby Lashley & Tank Toland) (c)

A win for the Destruction Crew seemed almost academic tonight.  Miller and Dupree hold wins over them and even took away the Great Lakes Tag Team titles at one point, but today's Miller and Dupree is a much different machine.  They've been fighting more than ever while Lashley & Toland are still quite the brick house of a team.  This match saw a lot of arguing between Miller and Dupree on just about every subject that could present itself in a wrestling match.  They truly were like an old married couple and more times than not Toland and Lashley just conserved their energy and let the two argue.  The dog and pony show grew tiresome after a while for DC though and realized they don't get paid by the hour and stopped letting Dupree and Miller have their little quarrels every few minutes.  Lashley grabbed Dupree and hit a big german suplex.  He went for the Hammer of the Gods, but Dupree squirmed off and got behind him, Miller distracts the ref, low blow from Dupree!  Dupree schoolboys him and gets a hand full of tights!  Toland doesn't make it in time and Miller and Dupree pull out a non-title win against the tag team champions!  Lashley and Toland were pissed and chased Dupree and Miller up the aisle to the back.  It was a non-title victory by the Destruction Crew knows that chances are pretty good that Miller and Dupree will get a title shot of some kind now and they are the only two people in GLWF that can claim to have beaten DC for the titles before.

[Non-Title Match]:
Ernest Miller and Rene Dupree defeated The Destruction Crew (Bobby Lashley and Tank Toland) when R. Dupree pinned Lashley after a low blow in 0:15:48.

Just when we think we're going to have the introductions for the 6-man tag team match some slightly familiar music plays and out emerges someone from behind the curtain... It's Paul Burchill!!  Burchill has returned!  He was fired a few weeks ago by Michael Shane and has since moved onto the pastures of GCW and aligned himself with Doug Williams and Lance Storm, but it appears he's come back with a purpose as he receives the boos that are so familiar to him.  Burchill says he has come back for a very important reason.  He wants to destroy Michael Shane.  He wants to be the one that dethrone him.  He says it should be him and not Joe.  Joe has had his chance and every time failed, but he realizes that Samoa Joe is the #1 Contender.  Which brings him to his next point.  Burchill says he knows that Samoa Joe still isn't happy with him for turning on him and joining Michael Shane all those months ago, so he's got an idea.  A chance to to let Joe vury the hatchet and a chance for him to get what he wants, which is a title shot against Shane.  Burchill challenges Samoa Joe to a match.  If Samoa Joe wins then they can consider the hatchet buried and he'll never stick his nose in Samoa Joe's business again, but if Paul Burchill wins, he becomes the #1 Contender and gets the title shot against Michael Shane.  Samoa Joe appears at the entrance to a chorus of cheers.  Samoa Joe asks Burchill if he thinks that he has a chance against him.  They've had meetings in the ring before, but Samoa Joe feels more primed to snatch away that Heavyweight title than ever before and he'll be damned if anyone is going to take that away from him.  Samoa Joe accepts the match, but says he doesn't want to waste anytime.  They are going to have their match tonight in the main event!  Burchill doesn't look terribly pleased at the lack of time between laying out the challenge and the actual match, but he sure is hell isn't going to back down.

"Bulldog" Harry Smith, Ron Killings & "The Showstopper" H.B. Cade vs. Los Corazones Negros ("1000% Guapo" Shocker, Hector Garza & Mistico)

As far as 6-man tag matches go, LCN has been a pretty much dominant force in them.  Coming from a luchadore back ground, it is after all their natural habitat.  Cade, Killings and Smith came to play though and held their own better than most have in the past.  Mistico and Smith started out.  Mistico had some great high flying offense that caught Smith, but when he tried to springboard off the ropes, Smith caught him and put him up across his shoulders.  He ran with Mistico into LCN's corner and used Mistico to knock Garza & Shocker off the apron, following it with a Samoan Drop.  Smith, Killings and Cade looked crisp together which seemed to catch LCN off guard enough that they made a mistake or two regarding when exactly they should tag out.  They just weren't expecting this kind of offense from them.  They held their own and looked good doing it, but their 6-man tag edge had been greatly reduced thanks to what seemed like a week's worth of hardcore practice from Smith, Killings and Cade.  Killings and Shocker had some great exchanges in the middle of the match with Killings usually coming out on top, making up for his loss last week to Shocker in singles action.  He dodged a Shockwave attempt and followed it quickly with an axe kick but it wasn't enough to get the win.  In the end Cade and Garza were duking it out.  Garza ducked a superkick which caught Cade up in the ropes, essentially crotching Cade.  Garza shook the ropes until the ref threatened to DQ him.  He followed it up with a backbreaker and then the Twisting Corkscrew Moonsault for three.  Smiths and Killings tried to make the save, but were cut off by Mistico and Shocker just in the nick of time.  LCN high tailed it out of there celebrating their victory.  Killings checked on Cade while Smith was visibly upset at what had happened.  Killings walked over and tried to console him a little but Smith just pushed him away.  Shouting something about how this is bullshit and just left.  Killings and Cade seem a little confused.

Los Corazones Negros (Hector Garza, Mistico and Shocker) defeated Harry Smith, Ron Killings and H.B. Cade when Garza pinned H.B. Cade with the Twisting Corkscrew Moonsault in 0:11:41.

Alex Shelley's music plays over the speakers and out he comes to a round of cheers.  It's very energetic and into the fans now that he's returned form injury.  It's a much different Alex Shelley that we're seeing here.  Shelley is wearing a shirt that has has a picture of a TV with the words "Champ" in it along with an arrow pointing up at him.  He obviously feels good about his apparent campaign to dethrone Austin Aries.  Once Shelley has the microphone he gets the blatant home crowd pop by mentioning Kalamazoo.  He firstly thanks everyone that sent him e-mails to him while he was on injury saying "Normally I only check my e-mail to get passwords to *air quotes* 'Adult' 'websites'" but that he was pleased to see those in there as well and it made him realize why he got into wrestling in the first place.  It was for the fans.  Somewhere along the there he lost his way, but now he sees the light again.  He attacked Austin Aries last week to make a statement.  Alex Shelley is back and he's on a mission.  He lays out a challenge to Aries who doesn't immediately come out.  After a little coaxing Aries finally makes an appearance.  He says he accepts Shelley's challenge, but he's not going to be able to attack him from behind like he did last week, he's going to have to go toe to toe and face to face with him.  Aries finishes off his little spiel with an ominous remark regarding the fact that he won't be alone either.

"American Dragon" Bryan Danielson vs. Mr. Kennedy

Danielson came out of the stables a lot quicker than Mr. Kennedy expected and caught him off guard in the beginning of the match.  Danielson stuck on Kennedy for the opening minutes not letting him get even a punch in edgewise until Kennedy found a little opening and took control, working Danielson's leg.  Kennedy kept on Danielson's leg and didn't let up, giving him the same treatment Danielson had given him moments ago.  Kennedy got cocky though as is prone to do and played to the fans a bit, making fun of them and patronizing them.  Danielson gained control of the match back and things looked good for him aside from the fact that the referee had been knocked out after Kennedy pulled him in front of a clothesline.  That was until Elix Skipper came down the aisle!  What is Skipper doing here?!  His presence distracts Danielson as Kennedy recovers... but Kennedy doesn't need to worry about getting the advantage while AmDrag is distracted because Low-Ki has just come through the crowd and slid into the ring... Ki Krusher!  Ki slides out of the ring.  Kennedy sees his spot and jumps onto AmDrag with the Kenton Bomb, picking up the win.

Mr. Kennedy pinned Bryan Danielson after the Kenton Bomb in 0:09:58.

[Low-Ki interfered against Bryan Danielson.]

After Danielson recovers from the assault, he asks for the microphone and tells the fans that tonight was his last night in the GLWF and he's going to wrestle in GCW full time.  He thanks the fans and assures them that Skipper and Ki will pay for tarnishing his final GLWF match, but more importantly for what they did to Paul London!

Main Event #1 Contender Match: Paul Burchill vs. Samoa Joe

Samoa Joe and Paul Burchill can't even make it through the ring introductions.  Samoa Joe attacks Burchill on his way to the ring!  Samoa Joe was right about not letting anyone take this away from him.  The two basically just brawled around the outside, but the fans got majorly into it.  They spilled into the ring and things still looked like a glorified streetfight.  Both men want their respective shots at Michael Shane extremely badly.  It was obvious that Michael Shane had his eyes on the match and didn't like how vicious each man was with eachother because it meant they were going to be 10 times more vicious when they met Shane.  He didn't like this idea one bit so he and his cronies went out to attack the both of them.  If Paul Burchill didn't beat Joe he didn't get to face Shane, and this was a great time to make sure Joe wasn't 100% for their match next week.  The Age of Shane came sailing down to the ring.  Aries and McGuinness attacked Joe while Shane and Master went for Burchill.  Things turned into one big orgy of violence, but Joe and Burchill will holding their own.   The ref quickly threw the match out and the brawl poured to the outside.  Chris Masters was fairing the best out of all the members of the Age of Shane, but Shane called for the retreat and back the Age of Shane went with Joe and Burchill in toe!

[Main Event]: #1 Contender Match
Samoa Joe and Paul Burchill battled to a double DQ in 0:08:46.

[Austin Aries & Nigel McGuinness interfered against Samoa Joe.]
[Michael Shane & Chris Masters interfered against Paul Burchill.]

Thats all for GLWF Action TV for this week and what an evening it was!  We've just learned that due to the Age of Shane's interference in the main event tonight, that his title defense next week will not only be a triple threat... but it'll be in a pinfalls only steel cage match!  Plus we'll see Alex Shelley in action for the first time since March as he faces Josh Abercrombie one on one, we'll have a rematch between Nigel McGuinness and Gunner Scott and the Destruction Crew will defend the tag team titles against Ernest Miller and Rene Dupree!

Moore better beat Abercrombie.  You don't job my developmentals to nons, you hear me!? :)  Good match with the expected and correct result.

Miller and Dupree win!  Lashley and Toland took them too lightly and it cost them.  Don't think Miller and Dupree are going to take the tag titles from them again, but they do seem to have a good win/loss record against the dominant tag team champs.

Great interview segment with Burchill and Joe, and that's going to be one awesome main event, and truthfully, I can't think of how it will end.

LCN had to win that match as they are the more experienced unit, but I was glad to see Cade, Smith, and Killins give them such a good match.  And what is up with Smith's little attitude at the end there?  Interesting.

That promo was needed to cement Shelley's face turn, and I already like his new gimmick here.  I'm looking forward to the match with Aries.  Here's hoping for a clean contest.

Kennedy continues to rule.  That was a perfect way to bring in the one-time use of Skipper and Ki, and it gets AmDrag out of GLWF and propells him officially into GCW.

A little bit of a mess in the main event, but it was fueled by a lot of intensity which made it a lot of fun to read.  The only thing that Joe and Burchill seem to hate more than each other is Shane, so the cage match next week will be marvelous.  You got a huge show next week that I am greatly looking forward to.  Two title matches, Shelley's return... huzzah!

Certainly didn't see the old married couple win this one. I really don't hope this means that LCN is out of the title hunt, as I've prophesied them as your next champions.

Hmm.. I really failed to see what Joe could gain on accepting the challenge from Burchill, but I guess the big Samoan doesn't back down from a challenge either way.

Skipper interferring against Danielson? Nice to see some of the GCW feuds spill over into GLWF. We all know how that went, so even if Skipper one-upped Dragon, he got what he deserved in the end.

And what's this anti-Abercrombie bandwagon Ryan?
Snabbit888Posted on 08/02/06 at 20:12:42

I have nothing against Abercrombie IRL.  He's seems like a nice enough guy.  Just as a guy on TNM, I had no use for him.  He's just a fun guy for me to demand he gets his ass kicked. :)
