GLWF Action TV: 10/15/05...

Welcome to GLWF Action TV!  We're coming to you live from the GLWF Facilities in Kalamazoo, Michigan for a great night of wrestling action!  Tonight we've got quite the card in store for you tonight so lets get down to ringside.

"Savage" Siaki vs. "Bulldog" Harry Smith

Not only was Harry Smith in the house, he brought his sour new attitude with him.  Smith took early control attacking Siaki before the bell.  He over powered Siaki and kept in charge for much of the match.  Siaki was able to get offense in, but nothing that was going to win him the match.  He was just out matched by Smith tonight.  It seems along with Bulldog's new attitude has also come a new found fighting spirit.  He really almost looks like a different wrestler in the ring these days.  Smith finished Siaki off with a Running Powerslam to put an exclamation point on the match and claim the victory.

Harry Smith pinned Siaki with the Running Powerslam in 0:07:30.

"The Angry Amish Chicken Plucker" Roadkill vs. "The French Phenom" Rene Dupree

Roadkill hasn't been seen for the past few weeks around the GLWF.  It's been rumored that much of that time was spent down in Amish country getting back in contact with his roots and may or may not have also involved unsuspecting chickens.  Roadkill is back though and he's already on Cornette's hit list.  First however, Roadkill had to wrestle Rene Dupree, who didn't seem any worse for wear after he and Ernest Miller's big match in last week's main event.  Dupree had something to prove and took the early lead.  Roadkill didn't seem to be able to catch his bearing at first, but quickly did and we had quite the match up on our hands.  At one point Ernest Miller came down to the ring.  He wanted to help Dupree, but Dupree told him he didn't need help it was fine.  Miller tried to insist, but Dupree said no.  He turned his attention back to Roadkill to hit the Barn Burner and followed it up with the Amish Splash for the win.  Miller couldn't believe that Dupree lost and he got in the ring.  He still tried to help his partner up and see if he was ok, but Dupree didn't want consolation from Miller, yelling "No!  I am mad at you again!"  The two talked up the aisle arguing with each other... looks like the odd couple is back..

Roadkill pinned Rene Dupree with the Amish Splash in 0:06:08.
Rating: *** 1/2

Before Roadkill has a chance to leave Jim Cornette comes out.  He tries to ask Roadkill a few questions about Cade's alibi and the Raven situation, but Roadkill just answers by saying "Chickens" with various intonations.  Cornette quickly grows tired of this and just tells Roadkill to not say anything... just nod yes or no.  Then he asks him if he was in fact eating KFC with Cade when Raven was strike by the car.  Roadkill slowly nods... then says chickens.  Cornette loses it and just leaves.  I guess Cade and Roadkill are off the hook.

Alex Shelley & Gunner Scott vs. The Age of Shane (Austin Aries & Nigel McGuinness)

When you think of crisp technically wrestling sprinkled with just the right amount of high spot wrestling, this is pretty close to what you should be thinking of.  Nigel and Shelley started off.  Nigel was able to keep his cool a bit better tonight though, whenever he'd get flustered he'd just tag in Aries and regain his composure.  Aries was never too keen on getting in the ring the same time as Shelley, but refused to show weakness by shying away from the confrontation either.  The ref lost control of the match towards the end.  Shelley and Aries were the legal men.  Shelley had the Border City Stretch locked in, but Nigel broke the hold and hit the Guvna's Crumpet!  Scott grabbed McGuinness and threw him over the top rope to the outside with the overhead belly-to-belly suplex.  As Scott followed Nigel out Aries had popped up top and came off with t he 450 Splash, but caught a gut full of knee!  Aries bounced off and stumbled on his feet holding his midsection as Shelley quickly got up, ran into the ropes and hit a springboard elbow!  He hooked the leg and just barely got the three!

Alex Shelley and Gunner Scott defeated The Age of Shane (Austin Aries and Nigel McGuinness) when A. Shelley pinned Aries after a springboard back elbow in 0:13:19.

No Count out, No DQ Main Event for the Great Lakes Heavyweight Title: Shannon Moore vs. "The Essence of Exellence" Michael Shane (c) w/Chris Masters

You could tell from the get go that Shane's heart just wasn't in this match again tonight.  He tried to wrestle with Moore, but Moore was dominating him in their exchanges.  It didn't take long before Shane just gave up and got out of the ring.  Moore followed him out, but he was met on the outside by Chris Masters.  Moore tried to get away, but Masters grabbed him and threw him hard into the ringpost.  He locked in the Masterlock and flailed Moore around like a ragdoll and til he was out and rolled him back in the ring.  Shane slid back in, took the pinfall and left.

[Main Event]: No-Count out-No-DQ-Match:
Michael Shane defeated Shannon Moore via pinfall in 0:05:44.
Rating: ** 1/2
(Michael Shane retained the Great Lakes Heavyweight title.)

This thing with Traci is really interfering with Shane's mind.  We need Traci back to make sure she's ok, but not only that, so we have a fighting champion once again.  Michael Shane was never one to shy away from underhanded tactics and getting help from his cronies, but this is ridiculous.  Join us next week when Mr. Kennedy takes on Josh Abercrombie, Delirious wrestles Ron Killings, Nigel McGuinness and Gunner Scott will once again meet in singles action, and in the main event, the Destruction Crew has been given a chance to regain their Great Lakes Tag Team titles against Hector Garza & Mistico of Los Corazones Negros!  Plus Jim Cornette continues his investigation and hopefully we'll have some update on the Samoa Joe/Traci Brooks situation.  Tune in next week to GLWF Action TV!  We'll see you then!

Though I have no beefs with Harry Smith being put over, boy, Siaki's push got quelched pretty quickly, didn't it?  Smith being a bad ass though.  Woo.

Roadkill wins, which is nice as he needed the victory, and Dupree and the Cat keep arguing like an old married couple.  I love this team. :)

LOL at the Roadkill/Cornette exchange.  I was a little skeptical at Cornette being the detective, but this has been fun so far.

Scott and Shelley get the win in a great tag team match.  This has to earn Shelley another shot at the TV Title, methinks.

Though the angle was pushed forward, the main event was very deflating way to end the show.  Moore got his ass kicked though.  I didn't expect him to get the title tonight, but I expected a little more from the main event.

A transitional card, but next week should be good.  Yay Delirious! :)

Surprising how dominated Siaki was. Smith is definitely looking like a Great Lakes Title contender.

Thinking of Dupree yelling "No, I am mad at you again" in an offended French accent makes me giggle for no real reason. And Cornette and Roadkill goodness afterward. Quality.

Shelley keeps getting little victories over Aries, but can he get the big one? Good to see Scott stop being the AoS's whupping boy too.

The main event seemed a little abrupt with Masters just wringing Moore around. But it did make Masters seem even more imposing plus it furthered the Shane misses Traci storyline.

Good card, but the main event brought it down.

Yeah, Siaki has kinda gotten lost in the shuffle at the moment :-/

In retrospect I really should've switched the tag match and the Shane match. Very lame of me. Especially since it dawned on me just now after reading your comments and it seems to fuckin' obvious :D

As well it should Azrael... as well it should :)

Miller and Dupree are GLWF's Booker T and Goldust. In other words, entertaining.

It's about time that Joe showed up and demanded a title match in exchange for Traci. Maybe that'll bring us great main events again  ;D
