GLWF Action TV: 10/8/05...

americamamushiPosted on 07/30/06 at 10:23:27

Welcome to GLWF Action TV!  We're coming to you live from the GLWF Facilities in Kalamazoo, Michigan for a great night of wrestling action!  Unfortunately no one has heard from Samoa Joe or Traci Brooks all week.  Not even a rumor.  We can still only hope that she's alright and that Samoa Joe doesn't do anything rash.  But tonight we've got quite the card in store for you tonight so lets get down to ringside.

Delirious vs. "Bulldog" Harry Smith

We start things off tonight with the debut of a wrestler by the name of Delirious... who is a little... ummm... odd.  He proved this by spending the opening moments of the match running around the ring shouting what seemed like gibberish while the ref began to count him out.  Smith wasn't quite sure what to make of it, but quickly grew tired as he wasn't in a mood to dick around with Captain Insane-o over here.  He went to the outside and cut Delirious off with a clothesline as he came around the corner.  Smith threw him hard into the ring post and then back into the ring where he proceeded to beat on him in a manner like we've not seen from Smith.  Something in him had changed.  He pretty much dominated Delirious until Delirious managed to duck out of the way of a clothesline in the corner.  Instead of capitalizing on a stunned Bulldog though, he decided it'd be a good idea for some reason to get on all fours and run around barking and pretending to pee on the ref.  The fans loved it but Smith was not amused once he recovered from his meeting with Mr. Turnbuckle.  He grabbed Delirious and threw him shoulder first into the ring post, then hit the Running Powerslam for the pin.

Harry Smith pinned Delirious with the Running Powerslam in 0:06:08.

Non-Title Match: Shannon Moore vs. "The Essence of Excellence" Michael Shane w/ Chris Masters

Shannon Moore was as excited as all get out that he was getting a chance to face Michael Shane.  Even though it was a non-title match, a clean win over Shane would surely garner him a title shot and with what happened to Shane last week there was no way he could be 100%.  And sure enough when Shane came out he was bandaged on his head and his ribs, not to mention he had a distinct limp about it.  Masters had a bandage on his head as well, but was quite better off than Shane was obviously.  Moore tried to wrestle Shane, but Shane just didn't have it in him.  Physically or mentally.  After a couple minutes he just gave up and walked out.  Chris Masters asked if Shane wanted him to attack Moore, but Shane told him not to bother.  Moore didn't want things to end this way and tried to go after Shane, when he saw that Chris Masters noticed him leave the ring he got a stare down from 30ft away that made him put his tail between his legs and get back in the ring, accepting a victory by countout.

[Non-Title Match]:
Shannon Moore defeated Michael Shane by countout in 0:03:58.

Jim Cornette makes his way down the the ring.  He says tonight he officially begins his investigation of the GLWF on the actions perpetrated against Raven  3 weeks ago.  He says tonight he's going to question his first suspect and it seems to be the most obvious one... H.B. Cade!  Cade comes out a little confused.  He asked Cornette why he's a suspect.  He finished things between he and Raven in a match like a wrestler.  He was done with him.  Cornette says he doesn't buy that for one second.  "That bullrope match was brutal but it wasn't enough, was it Cade?" Cornette said.  He continued on like that badgering Cade, trying to get him to admit to doing it, but Cade stood his ground and saying that he has an alibi.  He was at the arena that night, but he was Roadkill in the back eating KFC and that if Cornette can get Roadkill to say anything besides "Chickens" then he'll attest to that very same fact.  Cornette finally lays off of Cade with a "we'll see about that."

GLWF Television Title Match: Alex Shelley vs. Austin Aries (c)

Austin Aries, like every other member of the Age of Shane, had a wonderful bandage on his forehead from being brutalized by Samoa Joe last week.  He was not 100% and it showed as Alex Shelley seemed to make easy work of Aries, though to his credit, Aries wouldn't give up, he just couldn't seem to get any real worthwhile offense in.  Offense?  Yes.  Offense that was going to keep that belt around his waist?  Not so much.  When things started looking really bleak Nigel McGuinness came down to the ring to help out his comrade, but before he made it to the ring out came Gunner Scott like a bot of lightning!  He turned Nigel around... HUGE Belly-to-Belly overhead suplex on the outside!  All the commotion outside of the ring caught Shelley's attention allowing Aries to get an inside cradle and with his feet on the ropes the surprise and leverage was enough to get a three.  He got out of the ring quickly as Shelley was none too happy about losing the bout.

Austin Aries pinned Alex Shelley after an inside cradle in 0:08:54.

Main Event Triple Threat Elimination Tornado Tag Match for the Great Lakes Tag Team Titles: "The French Phenom" Rene Dupree & "The Cat" Ernest Miller vs. Los Corazones Negros (Hector Garza & Mistico) vs. The Destruction Crew ("Bulldozer" Bobby Lashley & Tank Toland) (c)

This match was the ultimate clusterfuck.  It was non-stop action whether it was in the ring or out of the ring.  No matter what there were always at least 2 people going at it at 110%, usually more.  There were several close calls on all account and you could tell everyone brought their A game.  The Destruction Crew even managed to hit the Desolation on Mistico, but Garza made the save just in the nick of time.  At one point Garza and Mistico hit dual planchas on their opponents with the recovering there after being the only thing you could remotely call a lull in the match.  It was pretty obvious that anyone could take this match.  One of the big things was going to be the first elimination, which came when Dupree got clocked with the Tank Turret after Garza whipped him into Toland.  After that they quickly threw Toland over the top rope and onto Dupree & Miller!  Garza hit a facebuster to stun Lashley and then carefully lifting him up on his shoulders, being careful to make sure he got the big man all the way up.  Mistico hopped up top and they unveil their tag finisher that it was rumored on the message boards they'd be debuting if they got the chance!  It's El Rana del Diablo (Doomsday Rana)  Mistico covers and gets the three!  Los Corazones Negros are the new Great Lakes Tag Team Champions!!

[Main Event]: Triple Threat Elimination Style Tornado Tag Match:
Hector Garza and Mistico won a 3-team Battle Royal:
x Tank defeated R. Dupree (partner: Ernest Miller) after the Tank Turret in 0:14:34
x Mistico defeated Lashley (partner: Tank Toland) after El Rana del Diablo in 0:15:17

(Hector Garza and Mistico won the Great Lakes Tag Team titles.)

We've had quite an eventful night tonight and next week looks to be promising as well.  We'll see Harry Smith face off against Siaki, Rene Dupree will face Roadkill who it's rumored is next on Jim Cornette's list in people to talk to to corroborate Cade's story, Alex Shelley will team up with Gunner Scott to take on Austin Aries and Nigel McGuinnes of the Age of Shane, and in the main event, due to the fact that he walked out on his non-title match with Shannon Moore tonight,  Michael Shane will be forced to face Shannon Moore again next week in a no countout, no DQ match for the Heavyweight title to make sure Shane doesn't try the same things again.  We'll see you next week from Kalamazoo!

Delirious is insane, and I enjoy you for making him so.  Too bad Bulldog doesn't enjoy him quite as much.  Expected him to get destroyed, but that was fun.

Wow... Shane is cowardly, but this is a new side of him.  It wasn't so much cowardice as it was... genuine emotion from worrying about Traci, I'd assume.  A nice little twist to the heel character.  It's nice thaty he's a bastard, but he has some emotion to him as well.

Ha ha... Cade was eating KFC with Roadkill... that's the best alibi ever, and it reminds me of how hungry I am. :)  Cade was the obvious first suspect, but no way it was him.  Cornette's quest continues.

I expected Shelley to take the TV Title tonight, but the way he lost sets up a rematch for certain.

New tag team champions!  I called it... hooray!  Mistico and Garza should make good tag champs, and this was a great way to end this good show.

Next week's show should be good as well... particularly looking forward to the tag match.

Finally, tag-straps for LCN. Well-deserved I must say. A singles rematch for each team is in order however.

Jim Cornette investigating Raven's hit and run is pure gold, looking forward to more of his sleuthing.
