americamamushiPosted on 07/30/06 at 08:53:03

Welcome to GLWF Action TV! We're coming to you live from the GLWF Facilities in Kalamazoo, Michigan for a great night of wrestling action! We've got quite the card in store for you tonight so lets get to the action!

Alex Shelley vs. Josh Abercrombie

Alex Shelley and Abercrombie had a very pretty, but also very spot filled match to kick off Action TV tonight. Both men looked good, but when it came down to it the match was really all Alex Shelley. He was on fire. After some impressive spots on both sides of the bout Abercrombie came flying off the top rope at Alex, but Shelley caught him and hit the Shell Shock! Shelley gets the three! Shelley helps Abercrombie to his feet and the two shake hands and hug after the match. This is a very different Alex Shelley.

Alex Shelley pinned Josh Abercrombie with the Shell Shock in 0:05:33.

Nigel McGuinness vs. Gunner Scott

This match started off as a technical spectacle, but when Nigel got frustrated it became a brawl. There was a lot of give and take between these two and several times the match could've gone either way. Nigel tried to used the iron right in front of the ref, not caring about getting DQed apparently, but Scott hotshotted McGuinness causing the iron to fall to the outside. Nigel was letting his frustrations get to him in a way that they weren't able to get to him in their last meeting for some reason. It was costing him a lot more and he wasn't wrestling the smart match he has showed that he can wrestle. Scott managed to catch Nigel with a shoulder stunner and quickly followed it with a belly-to-back suplex which he bridged to just barely get the three. Nigel was bewildered. He couldn't believe it. He threw a fit in the ring until he eventually turned his ire towards the ref, blaming him, demanding that he reverse the decision. The ref tried to escape but it was no use. Nigel crotched him on the top rope and nailed the Tower of London! He walked to the back, still fuming at his loss.

Gunner Scott pinned Nigel McGuinness after a belly-to-back suplex in 0:11:48.

Unfamiliar music plays and out from the curtain steps... Jim Cornette! What in the world is he doing here? Cornette asks for a microphone and begins to tell everyone how he has seen it all during his many, many years in the wrestling business. He knows this sport inside and out and that when someone needs something done, they tend to come to him. Jim Cornette reminds everyone that two weeks ago someone hit Raven with a car behind the GLWF facilities and put him on the shelf for who knows how long. And shortly after that incident he received a call from the management of the GLWF asking him to come in and get to the bottom of this situation for them and thats exactly what he intends to do. He's not afraid of whatever sycophant did this and he's going to find th culprit and make sure they are brought to justice!

Tag Team Title Match: "The Cat" Ernest Miller & "The French Phenom" Rene Dupree vs. The Destruction Crew ("Bulldozer" Bobby Lashley & Tank Toland) (c)

Tonight was Dupree & Miller's big chance to regain the tag team titles. They've beaten Lashley & Toland before, but would they be able to do it again? When things started off it seemed like no, they couldn't They seemed unable to catch a break, but after a little while it seemed like Lashley and Toland were almost trying too hard. Like they were over thinking everything to compensate for taking their opponents lightly last week. Miller and Dupree got the advantage. Dupree and Toland were brawling on the outside. Miller hit the Feliner and went for the pin, but Lashley was in the ropes. Miller picked Lashley up and whipped him into the ropes, but Lashley came back with a desperation spear! Lashley pins Miller... and here come Garza and Mistico! 1... 2... Miller kicks out and Mistico comes flying down onto Bobby Lashley to break the pin! Garza and Mistico are attacking the tired Lashley and Toland! Miller and Dupree can't believe it. They had the match almost won. Lashley hit a desperation spear, but Miller had kicked out! They seemed to feel like they would've won the titles which they very well might've had the mad not be awarded to DC by DQ thanks to LCN! They joined in on the brawl, specifically attacking LCN! After security breaks up the brawl Toland and Lashley get on the microphone stating that Miller and Dupree feel like they deserve another shot given what happen... and that LCN feel they deserve a shot... so next week they're gonna have a triple threat elimination style tornado tag match to settle this.

The Destruction Crew (Bobby Lashley and Tank Toland) defeated Ernest Miller and Rene Dupree when Lashley defeated E. Miller by disqualification in 0:07:19.
Rating: * 3/4
(The Destruction Crew retained the Great Lakes Tag Team titles.)
[Mistico interfered against Bobby Lashley.]

Main Event Pinfall Only Cage Match for the Great Lakes Heavyweight title: Paul Burchill vs. Samoa Joe vs. "The Essence of Excellence" Michael Shane (c) w/ Traci Brooks and Chris Masters

These three men have a storied history and there is a lot of animosity between them. This match wasn't going to be pretty and Michael Shane seemed down right scared to be in that cage with Burchill and Joe and not being able to have anyone help him. Burchill and Joe actually worked together at first to take out Shane. They had him wearing a crimson mask well within the first 10 minutes of the match. After it seemed that Michael Shane was pretty much disposed of physically it came down to Joe and Burchill fighting it out to see who would actually be the one to dethrone Shane and take home the title. They matched power move for power move and went back and forth like to titans fighting in Greek mythology. Every so often Shane would start to stir and they'd smite him back down. By the end Joe and Burchill were bleeding buckets too. It was an extremely brutal match for all parties, but it did seem like Shane caught the worst of it, if anything because he was giving up so much size and power. Traci and Masters were really worried on the outside, but there wasn't anything they could do... or was there. Burchill tried for a C4 from the turnbuckle, but Joe threw him off and hit a diving elbowsmash. He hoisted Burchill up and hit the island driver! Burchill appeared to be out, but Joe wasn't quite done it seemed. He backed up to the cage and seemed to be waiting for Burchill to get up. Just then Masters used his strength and actually managed to pull a small portion of the chain link fence away from the bar that was holding is secure! He reached in and grabbed Joe's foot! Masters is holding on for dear life and Joe can't seem to get loose! Masters yanks and Joe falls to the mat! Masters pulls his leg out a big to get a better grip! While all this is happening, Shane stirred enough to hit Burchill with a low blow as he started to get up. Seeing what was happening Shane started climbing up the cage... and off he sails with a Picture Perfect Elbow! PPE from the top of the damn cage! Shane seems to have hurt himself on that but lucky for him he's laying on top of Burchill... 1... Joe is trying hard ot get loose! 2... Joe can feel the title slipping away... 3!!!! Damn it all! The Age of Shane has once again screwed Samoa Joe out of the damn title!

[Main Event]: Triangle Cage Match:
Michael Shane defeated Samoa Joe and Paul Burchill when M. Shane pinned Burchill with the Picture Perfect Elbow in 0:31:28.
Rating: **** 1/2
(Michael Shane retained the Great Lakes Heavyweight title.)

Masters finally lets go and Samoa Joe seems to be in shock! Master and Traci run over to the door to wait for the ref to unlock it. The ref is having trouble finding the right key on the keychain... and Joe is getting up... and he looks uber-pissed! Without any hesitation he grabs the ref on the inside of the ring and throws him like a ragdoll into the cage wall! He picks up Shane and drives him down with an STJoe! Then an Island Driver! Masters is screaming at the ref to get the right key as he pushes a fan out of a chair and grabs it. Joe props Shane on the top rope... Muscle Buster! He sits Shane in the corner and starts hitting facewashes! Masters has had enough and shoves the ref hard out of the way and pulls on the cage door until he actually manages to pop the hinges off! He quickly gets in the ring with chair in hand and changes at Joe, steel raised hi, but Joe Yakuza Kicks the chair right into Masters' face! He picks up the chair and gets a sick grin on his face! Masters gets back up... CHAIR SHOT TO MASTERS! That looks to have busted him open as well! He gives Shane a final facewash with the chair! And here come Austin Aries and Nigel McGuinness! They get into the ring one right after another and are met with matching chair shots! Joe has gone of the fucking deep end! Refs and security want to get in the ring and stop this, but they all seem terrified to do so! He lays in chair shots until he's busted open McGuinness and Aries as well! Masters seems to be the only one capable of coming back and trying again, but each time Joe strikes him down! Joe puts Shane on the top rope and grabs him for another muscle buster, this time onto the chair when Traci gets into the ring! She's crying, begging Joe not to do it! Joe seems to have a streak of compassion... as he amazingly drops Michael Shane unceremoniously to the mat. Traci immediately attends to Shane. Joe seems to have regained his composure... but wait... that sick smirk is coming back! Joe grabs Traci and drags her to the cage door! He pulls her out of the cage, slings her up on his shoulder and is walking away with her! Samoa Joe is kidnapping Traci Brooks and at the moment the Age of Shane is in no position to stop him! Joe has finally lost it. All the months of getting screwed by them has finally taken it's toll! There is no telling what on earth is going to happen next!

I'm not exactly sure what to say about tonight other than wow. I can however tell you about next week. Harry Smith will be in action against a new talent making his debut by the name of Delirious, if Michael Shane is in any shape to wrestle he'll have a non-title bout with Shannon Moore, if Austin Aries is in any shape to wrestle he'll be defending his Television title against Alex Shelley and in the main event it'll be a triple threat elimination style tornado tag match featuring the Destruction Crew defending the titles against Garza & Mistico and Dupree & Miller. There is also word that Cornette will formally start his investigation into the Raven situation next week and hopefully if need be we'll have updates on the conditions of everyone after that main event... and also... hopefully we'll know something about the where abouts of Traci Brooks and Samoa Joe. Traci isn't exactly a peach, but good girl or not, with Samoa Joe's mental state, we here at GLWF are more than a little worried about her.

Shelley was going to win this match, no doubt about it, though I didn't expect the handshake at the end.  All of this niceness from Shelley is going to make when he goes nuts on Aries look all the cooler.

Nigel suffers his first lost and well... he didn't take it very well, now did he?  Scott needed to win a match or he would be completely buried, and winning against Nigel is the type of win to really establish him.  Looking forward to more from these two.

Ha ha... for some reason I picture Cornette as a detective in the next few weeks, complete with a magnifying glass and trench coat. :)

Don't like another shady ending to a tag title match, but with next week's triple threat, it looks like this will be settled once and for all.  I'm predicting that LCN walk away with the gold.

That was by far your match of the year to this point.  A great fucking main event.  One, it gave Joe the reason to finally snap and become the monster we know he can be.  Two, it really put over Chris Masters as more than just a generic bodyguard thug, but rather a super bad ass.  I mean, he ripped a portion of the cage open, ripped off the door, and kept coming back after the beating Joe was giving him.  You might have to get Masters in the ring for a match with Joe sooner or later.  Cap that off with a kidnap angle and we have ourselves the GLWF story of the year.  I can't wait to see where this goes next.  *claps*

Surprised to see Scott take the win against Nigel, he seemed on fire in his first few matches in GLWF. Not that I'm disappointed though, I am not too fond of the SE way of booking new wrestlers, you need to lose some matches as well.

Brutal main event, that's an understatement. Your Samoa Joe seems like a combination between TNA Joe and RoH Joe, an honorable madman.. haha!

So Ryan has persuaded you to bring in Delirious as a developmental talent, huh? Well, I wish you good luck writing him, I don't picture him as easily writeable.
