GLWF Action TV: 9/17/05...

americamamushiPosted on 07/29/06 at 04:11:53

Welcome to GLWF Action TV!  We're coming to you live from the GLWF Facilities in Kalamazoo, Michigan for a great night of wrestling action!  It looks like Austin Aries is in the ring already and has something to say so lets kick it down to ringside.

Austin Aries looks mighty proud of that GLWF Television title has currently lays on his shoulder.  Polishing it up and what not as he waits for the crowd to die down a little.  Aries starts off by saying that it didn't matter one bit who won the battle royal last week and became the number one contender because at the end of the night it'll be Austin Aries who walks out of the arena with the title still around his waist.  Smith is a strong guy, he'll give him that.  But when they go toe to toe Aries plans to show exactly why the TV title is around his waist in the first place.  Smith couldn't get it done in the 4-corners match to decide the Television title and he sure as hell isn't going to do any better tonight in the main event.  Aries plans on making his Television title defense as epic as Michael Shane's Heavyweight title reign has been thus far.

Gunner Scott vs. Nigel McGuinness

Gunner Scott and Nigel McGuinness are two very technically sound wrestlers and this had all the makings of a mat classic on paper, though it didn't translate quite as well into the ring.  They had several nice exchanges, but it seemed that every exchange that Scott showed up Nigel, Nigel would get extremely frustrated and slip to the outside, stopping the momentum until he was ready to get back in the ring.  Gunner let Nigel have his time outside, not wanting to get caught by surprise as he tried to make his way out of or back into the ring.  Scott wrestled an extremely smart match in that regard.  He didn't let himself get baited by Nigel.  He stuck to his guns and tried to actually wrestle Nigel, who would always resort to going back and trying to wrestle Scott right back wanting to show him up.  One thing it was obvious that Nigel didn't want it was to have his talent belittled by someone else's.  At the end of the match Scott tried to shoot in at Nigel for an amateur style takedown, but Nigel got out of the way and pulled the ref in Scott's path!  The ref was a little stunned but ok.  Scott made sure the ref was ok before bringing attention back to Nigel.  Nigel had seen his opening though and clocked Scott with the iron while the ref was recovering.  Nigel tossed the iron out of the ring, brought Gunner up to his feet and hit an enzuigiri for the pinfall.

Nigel McGuinness pinned Gunner Scott after an enzuigiri in 0:09:41.

"The French Phenom" Rene Dupree & "The Cat" Ernest Miller vs. Shannon Moore & Josh Abercrombie

Both Dupree and Miller and Moore and Abercrombie have had their problems with eachother lately.  And I don't mean the teams have been going at eachother, I mean that the partners themselves aren't getting along one bit.  Miller and Abercrombie started the match off and it stayed even for the short length of the match.  Abercrombie tried to tag in Moore but Shannon refused the tag!  The two started arguing while Miller just lay in wait.  Shannon eventually hit Abercrombie with a hotshot and left!  Abercrombie bounced back and turned around in the process, right into a jumping side kick and pinfall from Miller!  Miller and Dupree let their excitement get the best of them and celebrated together before realizing that they were still mad at eachother a little and abruptly stopped in mid-embrace.

Rene Dupree and Ernest Miller defeated Shannon Moore and Josh Abercrombie when E. Miller pinned J. Abercrombie after a jumping side kick in 0:05:37.

Ron Killings vs. Shocker

Killings and Shocker aren't happy with eachother in the least.  They each cost eachother a chance at being the number one contender for the TV title in last week's battle royal.  Shocker started off big, but it wasn't long before Killings made a huge comback and took control, where he managed to keep it despite from great and impressive efforts from Shocker to turn the tables back in his favor.  Things looked bleak for Shocker as Killings went for an axe kick, but Shocker dodged it.  He tried for a german suplex, but Killings flipped out of it!  Killings charged at Shocker and right into a drop toe hold onto the middle rope!  Shocker quickly capitalized and hit the Shockwave which was just barely enough for the three!

Shocker pinned Ron Killings with the Shockwave in 0:09:24.

We've just gotten word that Raven, who is set to face Samoa Joe in a #1 contender's match for the heavyweight title next has been attacked in the back lot of the GLWF facilities.  We've actually got a camera back there.  EMTs are attending to Raven who is laying bloodied and seemingly unconscious next to a car with a broken windshield.  It appears as though someone hit Raven with the car and just left the car in the dirt lot behind our facilities here in Kalamazoo.  They put a neck brace on him and put him on the backboard and drive off with him in the ambulance.  Raven could be out for quite sometime, hopefully we'll have an update for you soon.  Who on earth could have possibly done this?

#1 Contender Match: Samoa Joe vs. "Savage" Siaki

With Raven out of the picture for tonight and who knows how far into the future, Siaki was put in the #1 contender match with Samoa Joe.   This was a huge opportunity for Siaki but coming into this match with no preparation time wasn't going to do him any favors especially with Joe on the other side of the ring.  Surprisingly Siaki did pretty well for himself all things considered.  Samoa Joe started pulling out the big guns towards the end of the match hitting more strings of strikes and moves that were going to put a whole lot of hurting on Siaki.  Samoa Joe always wrestles at a setting of 10, but tonight, Samoa Joe kicked it up to 11 after Siaki just wouldn't stay down from his normal arsenal.  They ended up getting into a headbutt war, headbutting eachother back and forth with Joe eventually coming out on top.  Joe ran into the ropes and almost got hit with a Savate kick from Siaki, but he caught Siaki's foot spun him a full 360 and scooped him up, hitting the Island Driver for the three count and another shot at Michael Shane and the Great Lakes Heavyweight title.

(Raven no-showed.)

Bryan Danielson comes out and definitely has something on his mind.  He makes mention of whats been going on in GCW and that lately he's got a lot on his mind and on his plate with the whole Paul London situation in GCW which obviously didn't help him last week in his 3-way dance with Cade and Mr. Kennedy.  And since he's got much more important things happening else where he wants to nip this qualm he has with Mr. Kennedy due to his actions last week in the butt.  AmDrag challenges Kennedy to a match next week.  Mr. Kennedy comes out and excepts the match, telling Danielson that next week he'll have the pleasure... nay the honor of being pinned by "Miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiisteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrr..... KENNEDYYYYYYY!!!......... KEN-NE-DY!!!!!"

Main Event for the GLWF Television Title: "Bulldog" Harry Smith vs. Austin Aries (c)

Tonight was Smith's big chance.  He could capture the TV title from Aries and make the impact he had hoped to make back in the beginning of July when he squared off against Aries, Cade and Danielson for the vacant title.  Going into the match Smith seemed to have an advantage having defeated Austin Aries once before in singles action and both men have some nice momentum coming into it.  Not only that, but Smith also doesn't have to worry about the Age of Shane as they've all been either banned from the building or banned from ringside!  Aries truly does seem to be all on his own and it appears we have a lot better chance of getting a fair title defense tonight.  Smith had the power advantage and used it to his fullest.  Aries seemed a lot of times to be struggling against Bulldog and had to resort to cheating to get any form of control on the match.  Smith stayed on Aries and kept at it.  Smith was pulling out all the stops in the match and seemed to have prepared himself excellently over the course of the past week.  Aries seemed to be down and out as Smith popped him up on his shoulder for the running powerslam, but Aries wiggled off and got behind him, dropping down and hitting a lowblow which got him admonished by the ref, but not DQed.  Aries looked like he was motioning for someone to come out from the back... but the Age of Shane has been banned, they can't come down... wait!  It's Los Corazones Negros!  Shocker, Hector Garza and Mistico head down to the ring and yank Smith out as Aries distracts the ref!  They do a quick number on him and roll him back in where Aries positions him and hits an elementary 450 splash to retain his title.

[Main Event]:
Austin Aries pinned Harry Smith with the 450 Splash in 0:15:34.

(Austin Aries retained the GLWF Television title.)

After the match Aries throws Smith to the outside where LCN continues their assault until H.B. Cade and Ron Killings come out and make the save!  The 6 men are brawling on the outside and brawl all the way to the back.  Austin Aries is still in the ring celebrating to a chorus of boos.  Wait... someone is running through the crowd!  He slides into the ring... IT'S ALEX SHELLEY!  He's measuring up Austin Aries... Aries turns... SHELLSHOCK TO ARIES!!  Shelley picks up the TV title and poses with it as the crowd cheers to end the show.

What an amazing night here on Action TV!  And next week is shaping up to be just as eventful!  Josh Abercrombie has demanded that he receive a match against Shannon Moore after Moore screwed him over in their tag match tonight, Dupree & Miller will be in action against the Destruction Crew in a non-title match, Harry Smith, Ron Killings, and H.B. Cade will take on Los Corazones Negros in 6-man tag action, and Bryan Danielson faces Mr. Kennedy!  Plus we'll hear from Alex Shelley who apparently is back from injury and ready to rock!  And hopefully we'll have further word about Raven's condition and the events surrounding it!  Make sure to tune in next week for more great and exciting GLWF Action TV!  We'll see you then!

Glad Aries isn't just a whipping boy anymore.  I'm still predicting Smith to take the title tonight, but a good promo by Aries here.

Nigel wins again.  He's being built up nicely.

Moore officially makes the turn, which is nice.  Abercrombie is fodder anyway.  Hehe.  And the Dupree/Cat moment of the hug and remembering they were still mad at each other was pure brilliance and made me chuckle out loud.

Didn't expect Shocker to get a clean pin on Killings, but a good match, and could lead to some good rematches down the road.

Wow... someone hit Raven with a car.  Maybe it's the same guy who tried to hit Lesnar with a car a couple months back and I never mentioned again. :)

Siaki just didn't stand a chance against Joe without having any warning ahead of time that he'd be in the match, and Joe wants one more shot at Shane so bad at this point, nothing was going to stop him.

God, Ken Kennedy is so damn entertaining.  Hehe.  Can't wait until he's in GCW. :)

Great main event until the ending.  It furthers a lot of stories, but I was hoping for a clean finish.  But I digress.  Good stuff, sets up a 6-man tag and I was shocked as hell to see Alex Shelley back as a face, but what a way to bring him back.  Well done there.

I suspect LCN did this to put Age of Shane in their debt. Now, maybe they can return the favor helping LCN to win the tag-team titles (which they will, eventually).

Who ran over Raven? Guess time'll tell, unless you completely forget about the angle, like Snabbit  ;)

I'm really getting into GLWF now, it helps reading many cards in a row, so you don't forget who's feuding with who and so on.. hehe..

Chris does an awesome job with GLWF.  He's been great running my developmental territory so you get to see the journey of the guys from GLWF to GCW, like Danielson and Burchill.

Would it be a lot of work for you two to put up your respective rosters on a sticky post or something?
Snabbit888Posted on 08/02/06 at 11:38:26

Nope, not at all.  Though people won't go to my website for that stuff now.  Hehe.
