GLWF Action TV: 9/3/05...

americamamushiPosted on 07/22/06 at 07:08:15

Welcome to GLWF Action TV!  We're coming to you live from the GLWF Facilities in Kalamazoo, Michigan and we are packed to capacity here tonight!  Let's get down to the ring and down to the action!

Heavyweight champion Michael Shane, TV champion Austin Aries and Traci Brooks, aka the Age of Shane make their way down to the ring.  As has been noticed before when Michael Shane has come down to talk to the crowd, he makes eyes at GLWF ring announcer Clara Michaels, which Traci interprets as Clara trying to steal her man apparently and goes into uber-bitch mode on Clara, despite it being quite obvious to the casual observer that Clara doesn't like the way Shane looks at her.  Traci threatens Clara and forces her to leave the ring before Shane begins his speaking.  Shane talks about how like in any good regime, you occasionally come to find out down the road that you've acquired a "bad egg" along the way.  Those eggs need to be broken and disposed of, which is exactly what happened to Paul Burchill.  But no matter, because he's already found not only a replacement for Burchill, who will serve the Age of Shane even better, but he's found another man to join them in their quest for total domination of the GLWF.  First he'd like to introduce a man that Shane has been watching for a few months now and has finally decided that he is worthy to join their cause because he is "In it to win it."  All the way from England... Nigel McGuinness!  Shane hands Nigel the microphone and he makes a brief statement about how great his credentials are and that even at his young age he is already a "bloody legend."  He says Roadkill may be physically bigger, but he's Nigel McGuinness... and he's in it... to win it.  Michael Shane then continues the AoS propaganda train by stating that just like behind every great man there is a great woman *looks to Traci* there is also behind every man who is great in ability and character, there is a man who is great in size and strength, a right hand man to go along with his left hand lady if you will.  And since that position was now open thanks to inability and insubordination he had filled it, with someone who will serve him even better... he presents the crowd with the new muscle of the Age of Shane... Chris Masters!  Shane says that tonight will be a great night for the Age of Shane as all three active wrestlers in the Age of Shane (Shane, Aries and McGuinness) will be in action tonight and they'll show why the GLWF is now living in the Age of Shane.

Re-Match for the Great Lakes Tag Team Titles: Los Corazones Negros (Hector Garza & Mistico) vs. The Destruction Crew ("Bulldozer" Bobby Lashley & Tank Toland) (c)

Tonight we start off the card with a re-match from last week where we saw the tag team champions retain their titles with a victory, then followed it with a beat down by LCN.  Lashley and Toland were angry and wanted a re-match to settle things like real wrestlers in the ring.  Shocker however was smart enough to say that the only way they would get a re-match against Garza & Mistico was if they once more put the tag team titles on the line.  The Destruction Crew wanted blood and didn't think twice about putting the titles on the line once more.  The match started off as a brawl between the four men with Shocker no where in site.  The referee had a hard time controlling the match but after a few minutes got things down to just two men in the ring at a time like it's supposed to be.  They stayed amazingly evenly matched.  DC kept LCN from mounting their dangerous high risk luchador offense, but LCN also cleverly stayed away from DC raw power that they use so well.  Things came down to Tank and Garza with Mistico and Lashley brawling on the outside of the ring and the ref appeared to be down and out near the corner.  Garza got a nice string of moves going, ran into the ropes and went for a clothesline, but Toland ducked and hit the Tank Turret when Garza came back at him.  Toland didn't go for the pin right away though, instead, caught up in the moment he played for the crowd for a second.  That second allowed Shocker to run down to the ring and hit Toland with a springboard dropkick knocking him down onto the second rope.  The ref didn't see it, but was starting to stir, which Shocker hadn't noticed and decided to try and further insure Toland was on the down and out by hitting the Shockwave!  The ref didn't see the springboard dropkick, but he was starting to get up right as Shocker hit the Shockwave and DQed LCN!  Lashley tried to get to Shocker after he realized what had happened, but Shocker grabbed Garza and got out of the ring before Lashley could get to him.  Shocker's interference may have failed again tonight, but the Destruction Crew can't feel like they've solved anything here tonight.

[Re-Match]:
The Destruction Crew (Bobby Lashley and Tank Toland) defeated Los Corazones Negros (Hector Garza and Mistico) when Tank defeated Garza by disqualification in 0:10:27.
Rating: ** 3/4
(The Destruction Crew retained the Great Lakes Tag Team titles.)
[Shocker interfered against Tank Toland.]

"The Angry Amish Chicken Plucker" Roadkill vs. Nigel McGuinness

Nigel surprisingly took control of the match right at the beginning, seeming to outsmart Roadkill with his technical prowess.  Nigel got too cocky though and after a couple minutes Roadkill had overpowered McGuiness and was throwing him around a bit.  Nigel regained the upperhand with a rake to the eyes while trapped in a bearhug and quickly got back on the offensive.  He begins to work over Roadkill's arm.  Nigel hit a clothesline, but Roadkill didn't fall.  Nigel hit a second and Roadkill stumbled a bit.  The third time was the charm for Nigel however as Roadkill hit the mat.  Nigel quickly capitalized by locking in the Thames Barrier.  Roadkill tried to hold on, but Nigel had done too much damage to his arm and Roadkill submitted

Nigel McGuinness made Roadkill submit to the Thames Barrier in 0:08:03.

GLWF Television Title Match: Gunner Scott vs. Austin Aries (c)

The very second the bell sounded Gunner Scott was all over Austin Aries, taking an early lead.  After taking a few shots to the face and a few armdrags, Aries got out of the ring as quickly as he could.  Scott wasn't about to let Aries have a minute to gather his thoughts though and followed him out there.  Scott literally chased Aries around the ring.  After coming almost all the way back around to where he had started Aries slid back in and when Gunnar slid in as well, Aries quickly put the boots to him to turn the tide.  Aries kept control with a few punches and kicks, following it with a big dropkick to the face of Scott.  Scott got up as Aries ran into the ropes and tried for a clothesline, but Scott ducked and hit three consecutive german suplexes with a bridge on the third for a near fall.  The crowd seems to be really behind Gunner as both men get up at relatively the same time and start wailing on eachother with rights and lefts, matching eachother shot for shot until Gunner finally got the best of him and after three more stiff rights to the face of Aries, tried for the belly-to-belly suplex he beat Aries with two weeks ago in the 6-man tag team main event!  Aries blocked the attempt though and headbutted Scott, breaking his hold.  While Scott was stunned Aries tried to remove the turnbuckle padding and managed to do so despite the ref's best efforts to stop him.  As the ref's attention was turned to trying to put the pad back on Aries pulled a foreign object out of his tights and took a swing at Scott, but Scott ducked and grabbed Aries in a waistlock for a german suplex, but Aries kicked back and hit a big lowblow!  He put the foreign object back in his tights and nailed a big back suplex, following it with a trip to the top-turnbuckle and taking it home with a 450 Splash.  The ref got the padding back on just in time to turn around and count the three for Aries.

Austin Aries pinned Gunner Scott with the 450 Splash in 0:13:09.

(Austin Aries retained the GLWF Television title.)

Main Event for the Great Lakes Heavyweight Title: "The Showstopper" H.B. Cade vs. "The Essence of Excellence" Michael Shane (c) w/ Traci Brooks & Chris Masters

H.B. Cade had a huge opportunity here tonight thanks to his win over Raven in the bullrope match 2 weeks ago.  Shane has been heard saying that he didn't feel that Cade would even make him break a sweat tonight.  Cade and Shane started off slow, with Shane performing some classic cocky heel antics, like feigning a test of strength attempt, ducking lock ups, and so on and so forth.  Cade took it all in stride though, trying not to let frustration cloud his judgment and possibly blow his chances of walking out with the Heavyweight title.  Masters stood stoic outside of the ring next to Traci with his arms folded.  He made no real movements and didn't say a word, just watching.  Once the match really started going Shane was in control, managing to edge out Cade just enough after each exchange they had.  Cade kept fighting back valiantly, but for the first part of the match it just didn't seem to be working for him.  He got in offense, but Shane just stayed one step ahead and didn't seem to be in real danger of losing the belt.  Then about halfway through things started coming up Cade.  He took control of the match and fought Shane with great intensity.  He tried to clothesline Shane over the top-rope but Shane low bridged him and Cade tumbles to the outside.  Shane distracts the referee as Masters walks over to Cade.  Cade slowly lurches to his feet as Masters stand behind waiting for him to get up.  Masters knocks him back down with a hard lariat to the back of the head!  He picks Cade up and locks in the Masterlock!  Masters is thrashing Cade around like a ragdoll and Cade is no small cookie!  Cade looks to be out as Masters lets him go and throws him back into the ring.  Shane quickly runs over, hits a senton and lays back for the pin.  After the match Masters ripped the Heavyweight title away from the ref and handed it to Shane himself.  Samoa Joe decided to interrupt the celebration though as his music hit and the fans went nuts when he stepped out from the curtain.  Shane immediately sent Masters to attack him.  Master ran at Joe as he walked down the aisle, but when Masters tried to hit a lariat on him, Joe ducked backdropped him onto the floor!  Joe darted to the ring, but Traci and Shane got out of the ring just as soon as Samoa Joe got in.  Masters was pissed and tried to get to the ring, but Shane stopped him.  He had a hard time stopping Masters, but Shane is the boss and eventually Masters listened as Shane whispered something in his ear.  Both Masters and Shane got big grins on their faces as Joe tried to goad them into meeting him in the ring.  Nigel McGuinness came through the crowd with something in his hand and slid into the ring behind Samoa Joe.  Michael Shane motions for Samoa Joe to turn around.  Joe is confused but turns around and McGuinness clocks him right in the face with an iron!  An iron with the union jack on the bottom!  Joe is out and looks to have been busted open by that shot!

[Main Event]:
Michael Shane pinned H.B. Cade after a senton in 0:17:13.

(Michael Shane retained the Great Lakes Heavyweight title.)
[Chris Masters interfered against H.B. Cade.]

What a night!  The Age of Shane managed to be victorious on all fronts and absolutely nothing has been solved between Los Corazones Negros and the Destruction Crew.  The Age of Shane is not only four members strong now, but Chris Masters has already proved himself to be a viable asset to the stable.  Next week we'll be leaving out GLWF Facilities here in Kalamazoo once again and will be coming to you from the Birch Run Expo Center in Birch Run, Michigan where we'll have an 8-man battle royal featuring Shocker, Harry Smith, Siaki, Ernest Miller, Rene Dupree, Josh Abercrombie, Shannon Moore and Ron Killings to decide the #1 Contender for the GLWF Television title, we'll have a 3-way match featuring Bryan Danielson, H.B. Cade and a new debuting GLWF talent and in the main event it'll be Samoa Joe trying to extract revenge against Nigel McGuinness of the Age of Shane for his actions here tonight.  We'll see you next week for more GLWF Action TV!

NIGEL McGUINNESS!  Yay!  I thought it was going to be someone else, but I got no problems with him (obviously, or he wouldn't have a developmental contract :)).  And Chris Masters as the muscle is something I'm a little sketchier on, but I'm willing to see how the character plays out.

The Destruction Crew retains the titles, but like it was said, nothing was really solved with the way that match ended.

Nice that Nigel won, but definitely wasn't expecting that kind of domination over Roadkill.

Great match for the TV Title, with Scott looking strong but Aries keeping the gold.  I liked the ending too.  It may be stolen some time soon. :)

A good effort by Cade, but better men have tried to dethrone Shane and it hasn't happened yet.  Joe got outsmarted tonight, which isn't the norm for him.  He is sure to be pissed over that iron shot though when he meets McGuinness next week.  Great show, mate.  And a battle royal next week!  Yahoo!

The Age of Shane's dominance seemingly has no end. Joe really need some allies to stop them, as even though he is a superman, he can't do it on his own.

What move is the Thames Barrier? Haven't seen him use it in RoH.

I think the third time's the charm for the Mexicans, who WILL be champions.. I just know it.
