GLWF Action TV: 7/2/05...

americamamushiPosted on 05/14/06 at 06:53:12

Wow, for the first time in a long time I'm extremely pleased with what I've done.  :)

[hr]

Welcome once again to GLWF Action TV! Tonight we're coming to you live from the DeVos Fieldhouse in Holland, Michigan, home of the Hope College Flying Dutchmen! Lets get right down to the action!

Television Title Tournament - Round 1: Shannon Moore vs. Austin Aries

Both men turned it on full blast from the get go, but Aries was the one that ended up playing catch up and Moore seemed to be able to take and keep control at will during the first half of the match. Aries eventually started getting some solid offense in that was doing it's job. It looked like Moore had taken control of the match back after hitting a big flying forearm that got him a two count and left Aries dazed. He whipped Aries into the corner and charged in after him, but Aries moved and Moore ate turnbuckle. He stumbled out and Aries hit a springboard facecrusher to set Moore up for the 450 Splash.

[Television Title Tournament - Round 1]:
Austin Aries pinned Shannon Moore with the 450 Splash in 0:09:21.
Rating: ** 3/4

After the ring had been cleared out came Samoa Joe. He was all business. He got on the microphone and told Michael Shane he was sick of all the games. Shane always claims that he can't beat him, but Shane always has to resort to cheating to win. Shane isn't proving how much better he is than Samoa Joe because he's not better. All he's doing is showing everyone what a pathetic champion he is. That he can't even finish his own battles. He has to rely on a friend or a foreign object to finish his battles. Joe is interrupted by Shane who doesn't seem pleased with Joe's accusations. Michael Shane says Joe is full of crap and just trying to make excuses for why the Essence of Excellence has the gold instead of him. Shane says Joe still doesn't deserve a title shot, but what he will do it face Samoa Joe tonight... one catch though... it'll be a handicap match, and in Michael Shane's corner will be none other than Age of Shane member Paul Burchill! Joe doesn't look pleased that Shane is once again avoiding a head on collision, but Joe seems somewhat content that a small piece of Shane is better than no piece at all.

Sonny Siaki vs. Raven

There is only one way to explain Siaki's demeanor in this match and that is with three simple words: Bat Shit Insane. Not the fans, not the ref, not even Raven expected to see Siaki this rampant. It was like he was a mad dog, he even seemed to be foaming at the mouth. It was ridiculous. There was something primal about Siaki almost. I mean, he's been crazy for a while now, but this is a whole new level of crazy. This is like... Charles Manson crazy. Like compared to this, before Siaki was a fluffy little bunny rabbit wearing a velvet cat suit. And now he was like a grenade covered in nails and axes taped to a wildebeest on acid. Raven, as much of a veteran as he is and as tough as he is didn't even know what to do with Siaki. He hung in there alot longer than most wrestlers would have, though he was wearing a deep crimson mask. Finally Siaki hit a sick looking brainbuster and put and end to it.

Sonny Siaki pinned Raven after a brain buster in 0:07:16.
Rating: ****

After the match Siaki left the ring and got a chair and continued to take Raven apart. The refs and security poured out from the quick with haste, but Siaki kept them at bay. Finally he left the ring and meandered to the back, keeping an eye on those who would want to stop him. This is getting preposterous and more than a little scary.

"The Cat" Ernest Miller vs. "100% Guapo" Shocker

Miller came into tonight with all the confidence in the world. Shocker seemed to be suffering a little from jetlag, which has been seemed to be plaguing all his GLWF matches lately as he's been spending a lot of time wrestling in Mexico as well. Miller took advantage of this and used quick martial arts kicks and punches to keep Shocker from getting to close. Shocker was a little slow to react, but managed to get away from sustaining any major damage. It took a little while for Shocker to really warm up, but once he did he was on fire like an effigy on Guy Fawkes day. Where Shocker had a hard time keeping up with Miller's martial arts in the first 3/5 of the match, Miller had trouble keeping up with Shocker's lucha libre offense the remainder of the bout. At this point Shocker might have been able to get the win on his own, but as he turned his back and played to the crowd a bit (and while the ref wasn't looking either) Bobby Lashley came running down, dragged Miller out of the ring, hit the Hammer of the Gods on the concrete floor and rolled him back in, and left as quick as he came. Shocker was none the wiser, it appeared that Miller was right where he left him. He picked Miller up, hit the Liger bomb and held it for three.

Shocker pinned Ernest Miller after the Liger Bomb in 0:13:02.
Rating: *** 1/2
[Bobby Lashley interfered against Ernest Miller.]

Shocker grabs the microphone and says that now that he has defeated Ernest Miller he thinks that he should be granted a shot at the tag team titles with a partner of his choice. Shocker is quickly stopped but the Destruction Crew. Toland and Lashley object to this idea, stating that the next shot should go to them. They were the first tag team champions and they'll be the next tag team champions and despite their small string of bad luck they are still the most dominant tag team in the GLWF. The fans know it and the booking committee knows it. Besides Shocker doesn't even have a partner. Shocker says he's going to bring this to the booking committee and let them decide who will get the next shot at the tag team titles.

Main Event Handicap Match: The Age of Shane ("The Essence of Excellence" Michael Shane & Paul Burchill) w/ Traci Brooks vs. Samoa Joe

Despite the fact that this was a 2-on-1 match, you'd have thought it was just Burchill vs. Joe. The two duked it out for the most part with Shane only getting involved through cheating, double team moves or when Samoa Joe seemed to be dazed and in danger. If Joe would start to gain his composure back before you knew it Burchill was back in the ring. Joe was in a bad way after you consider the cheating ways of Shane and Traci Brooks, plus having to deal with a guy like Burchill in the ring, Joe really showed his fighting spirit being able to hold on and last with all those things working against him. At the end of the match, Burchill and Joe were both down in the middle of the ring after hitting eachother with huge running lariats. Shane popped up top and went flying through the air with the Picture Perfect Elbow... but Joe rolled out of the way and Shane eats canvas! Shane is hurting after that. Joe gets up and chucks Shane shoulder first between the turnbuckles and into the corner post. He falls to the outside after hitting it with a solid and sickening thud as Burchill staggers to his feet in the ring. Joe hits a series of still as all hell chops. Burchill shoves Joe away and bounces off the ropes behind him. Joe grabs him and dumps him over his head with a huge overhead belly-to-belly suplex! Joe quickly crawls over for the pin... one... two... three!

[Main Event]: Handicap-Match:
Samoa Joe defeated The Age of Shane (Michael Shane and Paul Burchill) when Joe pinned Burchill after an overhead belly-to-belly suplex in 0:20:41.
Rating: ****
[Traci Brooks interfered against Samoa Joe.]

Samoa Joe celebrates in the ring. He climbs the corner post next to where Shane is sitting in pain on the outside, gesturing the belt being around his waist. Between cringes of pain you can see Shane looks half amazed that he lost, half scared that another meeting with Samoa Joe may be looming on the horizon.

Was suprised to see Aries go over clean in the TV Title tourney match, considering the huge dump he's been taking in the ring since joining the Age of Shane.  Hate to see Moore lose, but it happens sometimes.

Yay!  You were right.  You added a quality match to the card with the handicap match. :)

Ha ha, a little far-reaching on the Siaki is crazy metaphors, but I like the angle. :)  Siaki made Raven his bitch.  Siaki rules.  He'll be fun when he gets his GCW call.

I was wondering what was next for the tag division, and it looks like you answered that question.  My guess is Shocker and his partner get the next shot, but Toland and Lashley will not be happy.

Shane as the pussy champion has been highly entertaining.  Even with Burchill with him, he's STILL a huge pussy.  Glad to see Joe finally pick up a win.

Next week looks fun too.  Huzzah!
