Welcome once again to GLWF Action TV! Tonight we're coming to you live from our home in Kalamazoo, Michigan for a great night of GLWF action!

Television Title Tournament - Round 1: Josh Abecrombie vs. "The Showstopper" H.B. Cade

Josh Abercrombie knew this was a great opportunity and that many probably didn't think he deserved it due to his loss last week to Roadkill. He had a hard time getting any offense in at first, but you could tell he was trying as hard as he could. Eventually he got his opening and knocked Cade out of the ring with a dropkick. He proceeded to jump onto Cade with an impressive twisting Asai moonsault that garnered a nice pop from the crowd and seemed to wipe Cade out pretty good. Abercrombie kept it on the outside for a little while, maintaining the advantage by hitting a lungblower when Cade started to get his bearings back. It was impressive how well Abercrombie was doing. The two brawled on the outside for the rest of the match with whoever was in control stopping the ref's count by sliding part way back into the ring. Finally Abercrombie popped up onto the apron and went for an asai moonsault, but Cade caught him and rammed him back first into the corner post and then rolled him into the ring. Abercrombie was hurting big time after that. Cade went up to the top rope and came crashing down with a flying legdrop to advance closer to the TV title.

[Television Title Tournament - Round 1]:
H.B. Cade pinned Josh Abercrombie after a flying legdrop in 0:09:01.
Rating: ** 1/4

Michael Shane comes to the ring along with Traci Brooks, Austin Aries and Paul Burchill, the Age of Shane in it's entirety. One of the members look especially happy. Michael Shane, as usual, does all the talking for his stable. He starts off by telling Burchill how disappointed he is that two weeks ago in South Bend, Indiana Burchill lost to Samoa Joe. While Burchill didn't tap out, a loss is a loss and losing in unacceptable. He tells Burchill that he has had a week to recover and he'd better win his match tonight against Ron Killings. He then moves onto the match he and Aries are involved in tonight. Whether Samoa Joe asked Shannon Moore to aid him or more just took it upon himself to keep Aries from getting to the ring because of their TV title tournament match next week is a moot point. What matters is Moore stuck his nose where it didn't belong and Joe took advantage of a situation because he know that when it comes right down to it, he can't beat the essence of excellence. Theres a reason why Joe isn't the Heavyweight champion and that reason is because he isn't good enough. He isn't on the same level as Michael Shane and never will be. Tonight is going to be just another instance of that.

Paul Burchill vs. Ron "The Truth" Killings

Burchill and Killings both seemed to still be feeling the effects of their respective matches from two weeks ago in South Bend. They were both brutal encounters. Burchill tried to rely simply on overpowering Killings without thinking terribly much and it cost him. Killings played the thinking man's game and when you do that it doesn't matter if it's Davey vs. Goliath, you tend to think ahead enough to stay away from your opponent's most damaging move attempts and gain the advantage. However a few missed cues here and there and you're right back where you started. Which is what happened with Burchill. Either Killings made an error or two and Burchill started thinking a little more about his offense and tossed Killings almost out of the ring with an exploder suplex! Burchill followed it up with a powerbomb onto the turnbuckles and then the C4 for the pin.

Paul Burchill pinned Ron Killings with the C4 in 0:11:02.
Rating: *** 1/2

Ring announcer Clara Michaels is standing in the ring and introduces Roadkill. He seems to have a bucket with him... a bucket of chicken. He makes his way down to the ring and Clara tries to conduct an interview with him, but Roadkill isn't very talkative... in fact... he doesn't say anything... at all... Clara keeps her cool, but wonders how she's going to make it through if Roadkill isn't going to say anything. Finally, it looks as though he's mustering up everything in his ability to unleash the promo of a lifetime and finally after what seems like hour of anticipation we hear... "chickens." Followed by Roadkill exiting the ring and gnawing on a drumstick on his way to the back.

Semi-Main Event Re-Match for the Great Lakes Tag Team titles: The Destruction Crew (Bobby "The Bulldozer" Lashley & Tank Toland) vs. "The French Phenom" Rene Dupree & "The Cat" Ernest Miller (c)

Both teams had a lot riding on this match. The Destruction Crew obviously wanted their titles back and to prove their dominance of the tag team division in GLWF. Dupree & Miller wanted to prove that they weren't just a flash in the pan or a fluke team. They really had talent to back it up. The match looked like last week's match where the Destruction Crew lost the belts, though kicked up a notch. Both teams seemed to be fighting harder for their respective goals. There was a lot of brawling... a lot... but it was entertaining brawling. All four men had fire in their eyes and the ref had a hard time keeping control of things. To Dupree & Miller's credit, they were extremely light on cheating tonight, though weren't afraid to use underhanded deeds when they really needed to. In the end Toland and Miller were exchanging blows on the inside. Miller threw Toland off after he attempted a spinning headscissors, but Toland quickly got back up as Miller ran into the far ropes. Miller was met with a Tank Turret on the way back! The crowd went crazy. The ref counted one... two.... and Miller amazingly gets his shoulder up at 2.9! Toland, Lashley and every single fan in the GLWF Arena were in a state of shock that Miller managed to kick out of the Tank Turret, even if it was just barely. Toland grabs Miller and whips him into the ropes, Miller ducks a second Turret attempt, stops himself. and plants a savate kick as Toland turns around! Toland stumbles back up to his feet just as Miller positions himself on the top rope... FELINER! Miller collapses onto Toland and Dupree cuts Lashley off before he can reach his partner. One... two... three!

[Semi-Main Event Re-Match]:
Rene Dupree and Ernest Miller defeated The Destruction Crew (Bobby Lashley and Tank Toland) when E. Miller pinned Tank with the Feliner in 0:14:51.
Rating: ** 3/4
(Rene Dupree and Ernest Miller retained the Great Lakes Tag Team titles.)

Main Event: Samoa Joe & Shannon Moore vs. The Age of Shane ("The Essence of Excellence" Michael Shane & Austin Aries) w/Traci Brooks

Shane was really not into starting this match and told made Aries start the match off. Joe then allowed Shannon Moore to start off for their team and it will be Aries vs. Moore in a TV title tournament match next week. All four men looked really great here tonight. Shane got a lot of heat for immediately tagging out anytime Samoa Joe was tagged in and not accepting tags from Aries while Joe was in the ring, unless Joe seemed to be a little out of it and Shane thought he could have control. Shane and Aries were smart to stay away from the Kokina Clutch as that could spell certain doom for the Age of Shane. Towards the end Moore was in a little trouble after some clever distracting of the ref and having the illegal guy get the jump on the legal opponent. Finally Moore got the hot tag on Joe and the Samoan cleaned house. Even disposing of Burchill after he ran down to the ring and popped up on the apron. He almost slugged Traci too when she got up on the apron, but stopped himself. He instead grabbed a hold of her hair and asked if the audience wanted to see him kiss her. He payed a wet one on her as she squirmed. He seemed proud of himself afterwards as Traci spit with disgust. She had the last laugh though as she clobbered him with her purse, which she revealed moments later had a brick in it. This dazed Joe enough to cause him to fall backwards. During this the ref had been preoccupied with trying to get Moore out of the ring as he and Aries exchanged blows. Traci handed Shane a chair which he brought with him to the top rope and proceeded to fly through the air hitting a chair assisted Picture Perfect Elbow, which busted Joe's face open and didn't seem to feel like roses and sunshine on Michael Shane's elbow either, but it was more than enough to get the pinfall.

[Main Event]:
The Age of Shane (Austin Aries and Michael Shane) defeated Samoa Joe and Shannon Moore when M. Shane pinned Joe with the Picture Perfect Elbow in 0:17:39.
Rating: **** 1/4

Abercrombie gets a little offense in, but no way he was beating Cade in this one.  Good opener, right winner.

I find it odd that Shane is berating Burchill for losing when Aries hasn't won a match in weeks. :)

Burchill wins!  Good match, and good psychology with both men feeling the effects of their matchs two weeks ago.

Roadkill interviews = the asbestos

Ernest Miller is a bad ass.  Not only did he kick out of the Tank Turret, but he got the pin on Toland as well.  The Cat might be goofy as hell, but he is a 3-time World karate champion after all.  I wonder where this leaves the Destruction Crew though.

That's what you get Shannon Mooe for being a rapist!  You get a brick upside your head.  Man, I swear, Joe can't buy a win over Shane, even in tag team action.

And you're right, next week's show is lacking a bit, at least on paper.  I'll give you the benefit of the doubt though. :)
