GLWF Action TV: 6/18/05...

Welcome once again to GLWF Action TV!  Tonight we're coming to you live from our home in Kalamazoo, Michigan for a great night of GLWF action!

Sonny Siaki vs. "Textbook" Tyson Dux

Siaki and Dux both wrestled a good match, with both giving off some good offense.  Even with the performance he was giving, it seemed Dux was putting a little more effort and thought into things than Siaki, who wasn't trying to go for pins when he probably should've at least tried.  Dux finally took control and kept it.  He got the Texas Cloverleaf on twice, but Siaki managed to crawl over to the ropes fairly quickly to get out of it.  Siaki seemed to lose interest in the match and tried to casually exit the ring.  Dux stopped him before he could get out of the ropes and spun him around.  Dux started berating Siaki, who didn't seem to care.  Finally after no response from Siaki, Dux hauled off and slapped Siaki clean across the face.  You could almost hear Siaki snap and he decked Dux and quickly followed it with the Siakolypse NOW for the three.  After the match Siaki slid out of the ring, grabbed a chair and brought it back in.  The ref tried to stop Siaki but Siaki took the ref and threw him out of the ring.  Siaki reigned blows down upon Dux's back, then proceeded to put Dux's ankle into the chair and stomp on it mercilessly as Dux screamed in pain.  Security finally hit the ring and dragged Siaki to the back and EMTs attended to Dux.  It looks like Dux is seriously injured and we've learned that it's serious enough that Dux will be out of wrestling indefinitely.  I hope Siaki is proud of himself.

Sonny Siaki pinned Tyson Dux with the Siakolypse NOW in 0:06:42.

Raven vs. Shocker

Raven seemed to be distraught after his recent loss to H.B. Cade and couldn't seem to gain a real good foothold in his match with Shocker because of it.  Shocker had a little bit of jet lag after a delayed flight from Mexico where he was wrestling for a lucha libre promotion, but was still in great form despite of it.  Raven didn't seem to be out of the match, he just seemed to have trouble keeping up with Shocker's still quick pace.  Raven being the kind of guy that he is though managed to hit a blatant low blow while the ref wasn't looking and hit the Raven Effect, which in succession is enough to put any man down.  It wasn't a clean win, but Raven isn't really one to care either.

Raven pinned Shocker with the Raven Effect in 0:07:48.
Rating: *** 1/4

Josh Abercrombie vs. "The Angry Amish Chicken Plucker" Roadkill (debut)

Abercrombie wasn't quite sure what to make of Roadkill at first.  He was giving up a bit of size to the Amish wonder and it showed.  Roadkill seemed to wrestle pretty passively, like he knew it was just a matter of time.  One opening would present itself and he'd just plow Abercrombie like he was a field of wheat and the ring was the back 40.  Abercrombie tried for a crossbody block and bounced off.  He made a rookie mistake when he tried for another one because obviously the first one worked out so well and was caught by Roadkill, slammed into the turnbuckles back first Oklahoma Stampede style then bodyslammed, setting up for the Amish Splash from the top-rope.

Roadkill pinned Josh Abercrombie with the Amish Splash in 0:03:26.

TV Title Tournament - Round 1: "The Anarchist" Doug Williams vs. "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson

Doug Williams came out of the gates like a bolt of lightning tonight and got on Danielson right away.  He wasn't about to let AmDrag show him up again.  He was going to make sure he didn't make any mistakes and that no "accidents" happened.  Williams controlled much of the match, though Danielson did manage to find opening and opportunity for reversals that allowed him to get on the offensive for a little while, but Williams, but hook or by crook, managed to get control soundly back in his hands eventually.  Danielson got on a hot streak though after Williams tried to finish him off with the Revolution DDT, the two exchanged a nice series of reversals and it was obvious Danielson was working hard not to lose the advantage.  The exchange ended with Williams coming off the ropes and getting planted hard with a Rydeen Bomb for the pinfall and win for Danielson.  No sneak inside cradles or small packages here, Williams just got slammed hard.  No accidents.  No flukes.  Danielson just got the better of him tonight.

[TV Title Tournament - Round 1]:
Bryan Danielson pinned Doug Williams after a Rydeen Bomb in 0:14:45.
Rating: **** 1/4

Doug Williams grabs a microphone after the match and tells Danielson that this thing between he and Danielson isn't over by a long shot and with all the fans in the GLWF Arena as his witnesses, he'll not only make sure Danielson never gets to GCW, but never wrestles again.

Main Event for the Great Lakes Tag Team Titles: "French Phenom" Rene Dupree & "The Cat" Ernest Miller vs. The Destruction Crew ("The Bulldozer" Bobby Lashley & Tank Toland) (c)

The Destruction Crew still has the distinction of being the first and only tag team champions in GLWF's show history and having been a fairly dominant force since their debut.  Lashley and Toland just click like they've been doing this for years.  Dupree & Miller, may clash with their egos at times, but have become quite the tag team duo in their own right.  When they're on, they're really on, the only real problem they have is staying on the same page and not letting their egos get in the way.  Lashley & Toland never truly seemed in danger of losing their tag team titles.  It wasn't an easy match for them by any means, but it didn't seem like Dupree & Miller were going to be able to take the titles home at the end of the day either.  When the end came it wasn't in a fashion any one probably would've expected.  Miscommunication between Lashley & Toland.  Toland ended up clocking Lashley with the Tank Turret after Dupree ducked.  Miller came off the top and knocked Toland out of the ring with the Feliner, and Dupree hit the French Riviera for the three.  And surprisingly we have new tag team champions!

[MAIN EVENT]:
Rene Dupree and Ernest Miller defeated The Destruction Crew (Bobby Lashley and Tank Toland) when R. Dupree pinned Lashley after the French Riviera in 0:22:33.
Rating: * 3/4
(Rene Dupree and Ernest Miller won the Great Lakes Tag Team titles.)

What a night.  The debut of Roadkill, Tyson Dux is out of the GLWF and just might be out of wrestling for good after Siaki's assault, and to top it all off, we have new tag team champions!  And next week promises to be an exciting night of action as well as we've got the following matches already lined up for you: Josh Abercrombie after suffering a loss here tonight will get to face H.B. Cade in the third first round match of the Television title tournament, what will Roadkill think of the man he defeated getting a chance at the brand new TV title instead of him?  Ron Killings will take on Paul Burchill, in the main event we'll see Samoa Joe and Shannon Moore team up to face Age of Shane members Michael Shane and Austin Aries and finally, we've just learned that in the semi-main event The Destruction Crew has been awarded a re-match against Dupree & Miller to try and regain the Great Lakes Tag Team titles.  We'll see you right back here in Kalamazoo next week for more great GLWF Action TV!

Siaki is a bad ass mofo!  That's the kind of spark he needed to make himself relevant again (I miss the Universal Title :( )  And that is what Dux gets for being released!

I'm not really huge on Raven or Shocker, but if one had to win, I'm glad it was Raven.  Yay Raven.

Great debut for Roadkill.  He should be a fun character to play with in both GLWF and GCW whenever he gets the call up.  Poor Abercrombie.

I seriously love the stuff you've done with Danielson and Doug Williams.  It's been such a solid feud and it's been nice because it has all been centered around the matches themselves.  I expected Williams to win this match for some reason, but I was happy either way.  Good little match, and the TV tourney is looking good.

Wow... I did NOT expect new tag team champions tonight, especially in the form of Dupree and Miller.  Is this a breakup for Lashley and Toland?  I hope not.  Great way to end the show.

Next week's show looks dynamite, so good job.
