GLWF Action TV: 5/14/05...

americamamushiPosted on 03/05/06 at 06:31:11

Welcome once again to GLWF Action TV!  We're here at the GLWF facilities in Kalamazoo, Michigan for what should be a great night of action.  We've got four matches tonight to bring you, so lets get right down to the action with our first bout.

Triangle Match: "Textbook"Tyson Dux vs. Josh Abercrombie vs. Shannon Moore

These three guys had a good match, but it seemed a little more subdued than the high flying fiesta everyone expected.  Dux seemed a lot more preoccupied with Shannon Moore after his loss last week than he did with Abercrombie, which cost him a few times.  Abercrombie was a lot more on tonight than he has been in the past weeks, he was hitting a lot more of the big moves and spots that have been costing him in matches lately.  Moore seemed to be fighting a losing battle until he dropkicked Dux off the top rope while Dux was going for a move on a downed Abercrombie.  Shannon popped up top himself as Abercrombie was getting up and hit the Mooregasm before Dux could get back into the ring.

Triangle Match:
Shannon Moore defeated Josh Abercrombie and Tyson Dux when S. Moore pinned J. Abercrombie with the Mooregasm in 0:08:43.
Rating: ** 3/4

Samoa Joe makes a surprise appearance.  He wasn't expected to be here tonight.  He explains why he decided to show up though.  Tonight Ron Killings has a match with Austin Aries of the Age of Shane.  While he and Killings are after the same goal, that doesn't matter right now.  What matters is making the Age of Shane pay.  And while one day it's inevitable that he and Killings will be across the ring from eachother fighting for the Great Lakes Heavyweight title, tonight, they'll be on the same side of the ring, because Joe is going to be in Killings' corner tonight to try and keep Shane, Traci and Burchill from getting involved.

"American Dragon" Bryan Danielson vs. Raven

Raven is coming off a big win over Cade in the steel cage last week and doesn't seem to be anywhere near 100%.  Danielson isn't without his battle scars from last week either though, as he had a big match against Doug Williams, which has Danielson favoring his neck tonight.  If there is one area you don't want to be favoring in a match with Raven, it's your neck.  It's like blood in the water for Raven who is always looking to hit that Raven Effect.  Both men wrestled hard.  Probably harder than they should have given their conditions going into the match.  Neither man could get into too much of a rhythm before they'd do something to aggrivate their soreness.  Eventually things boiled down to who was going to hit the one big move to finish the match, and not hurt themselves in the process.  That ended up being Raven, who hit the Raven Effect.  He clutched his back, but managed to roll over and drape and arm for the pin.

Raven pinned Bryan Danielson with the Raven Effect in 0:07:38.

Oh no, we've just gotten word that Samoa Joe has been beaten down backstage and is now being looked at by the on hand EMTs.  Word is that he is unconcious and will be taken to the hospital, making him unable to be in Ron Killings corner tonight against Austin Aries.  Ron Killings is basically going into a 3 on 1 match, and thats not even including Traci Brooks.  He'll sure have his work cut out for him tonight.

James Brown music plays over the PA which can only mean one thing... Ernest "The Cat" Miller is on his way day.  Somebody better call his momma cause the cat is about to tell it like it is.  Miller says he's in a bad mood tonight.  Two weeks ago he and Dupree had a chance at the tag team titles and lost.  He says he only blames Dupree a little since he admits he wasn't totally on his game that night either.  In fact, the Cat says he hasn't been on his game for almost 2 months.  Why you ask?  Because of one man.  Shocker!  Ever since Shocker interfered in he and Dupree's dance off he says he's had his groove thrown all outta whack.  He's finally decided it's time for Ernest to get his Groove back.  He wants Shocker right now.  That bring Shocker out to the ring.  Shocker has been back down in Mexico wrestling lately and seems reconfident in his GLWF return.  He tells Miller that he can't believe Miller has been carrying that around for this long and that Miller should just let it go.  Miller tells the ref to call his momma, cause he's about to whup somebody's ass and hits a savate kick out of no where on Shocker!

"The Cat" Enrest Miller vs. Shocker

After that cheap shot to start off the match, Miller stayed in control a lot.  It seemed like he may already have gotten the edge he needed to win tonight and "Get his groove back" as it were.  Even with that cheap shot, Shocker was able to hit a lot of good, lucha influenced offense, but at the end Miller was still able to stay on top.  The match was great, both men came off looking really good as Shocker tried to overcome an unusually dominant Miller.  Maybe there was something to what Miller was saying at the begining of the match.  With every exchange the Miller came out on top of Miller seemed to get more and more confident... or maybe get more and more of his groove back as he put it.  However as it usually happens, with a great lead in a match, comes showboating.  Miller managed to showboat his way to a loss as he let Shocker recover after a big martial arts kick and when Miller bounced off the ropes at him Shocker grabbed him in the Reinera and made Miller cry out for his momma.

Shocker made Ernest Miller submit to the Reinera in 0:07:42.

MAIN EVENT: Austin Aries vs. Ron "The Truth" Killings

Killings was very weery of having the whole of the Age of Shane at ringside and not having anyone in his corner after Joe was attacked by, assumably, the Age of Shane.  Amazingly, the Age of Shane stayed out of the match for the most part and just let purely their pressence play on Killings' mind, allowing Aries some opening to take control.  Not exactly the way most thought the match would go.  Austin couldn't hold onto the match forever though and Killings fought his way back and had Michael Shane and his cohorts worried that Aries might suffer yet another loss.  Enter the interference.  Traci distracted the ref while Burchill and Shane were getting ready to pummel Killings on the outside... but out runs Samoa Joe!  He's got a bandage on his head and he's hobbling a little but he's running out with a chair!  Burchill tries to meet him with a big boot but Joe ducks and clocks Burchill!  Shane runs through the crowd to save himself.  Joe sets his eyes on Traci Brooks and chases her off the apron and she exits through the crowd herself.  All the while Killings gets back in the ring.  Killings and Aries trade punches... Killings comes out on top... and hits the Consequence!  One! Two! Three!

[MAIN EVENT]:
Ron Killings pinned Austin Aries with the Consequence in 0:09:51.
Rating: *** 3/4
[Paul Burchill and Michael Shane interfered against Ron Killings.]

Joe enters the ring after Killings' win and they stare at eachother in a slightly tense moment, before shaking hands.  Joe raises Killings' hand in victory.  Looks like the Age of Shane might not be able to push around the main event scene quite as easily as they used to.  Join us next week as we'll bring you a non-title triangle tag match featuring the Destruction Crew, Dupree 7 Miller, and Shocker & Harry Smith, Josh Abercrombie vs. Sonny Siaki, Bryan Danielson vs. H.B. Cade, Doug Williams vs. Shannon Moore, and in the main event, a tag team match featuring Paul Burchill and Austin Aries of the Age of Shane taking on Samoa Joe and Ron Killings!

Good win for Shannon Moore to open the show.  I like what you've done with him so far.   Let's see where it goes from here.

Samoa Joe is mad, but he will be in Killings corner.  The tension, the tension!

Boo!  Raven beat AmDrag!?  Wait a second... non-contract guys aren't supposed to be beating my developmentals!  What's the matter with you!? :)  Good match though with good psychology throughout.

Who would do such a dastardly thing to Samoa Joe? :(

The Cat wants the Shocker right now!?  Ewwwww.... surprisingly good match considering the Cat was involved.

Good main event... glad you didn't make it an interference fest throughout.  Samoa Joe makes the brave save and Michael Shane like a good cowardly champion runs away letting his men get destroyed.  Sets up what should be a great tag team main event next week.

It seems to me the the Cat is able to weasel his way into high rating matches all the time. He had a couple of surprisingly good quality matches in Critic's LIW as well.
