GLWF Action TV: 5/7/05...

americamamushiPosted on 02/25/06 at 07:42:48

Welcome once again to GLWF Action TV!  We're here at the GLWF facilities in Kalamazoo, Michigan for what should be a great night of action.  We'll see Sonny Siaki take on Harry Smith, Shannon Moore faces Tyson Dux, and two main event as Raven wrestles H.B. Cade in a steel cage and Bryan Danielson faces Doug Williams two-out-of-three falls!

"Bulldog" Harry Smith vs. Sonny Siaki

Both men seemed on tonight and traded moves pretty evenly during the match.  It was a much better match than most expected it to be which was a nice surprise to open the night.  Smith managed to get the crowd behind him quite a bit and almost had Siaki after the Running Powerslam, but the ref had been inadvertently hit with Siaki's foot after being picked up and couldn't make the three count.  Siaki turned things around a bit after that, getting a low blow while the ref was still down.  Siaki couldn't stay on top for long and made the mistake of trying for the Siakolypse NOW before Smith was out and Smith managed to hit a second Running Powerslam, this time for the pin.

Harry Smith pinned Sonny Siaki with the Running Powerslam in 0:08:32.

After our first match Ron Killings makes his way out to the ring to a round of cheers.  Killings says that now that he has his feet wet in the GLWF that he's setting his sites on the prize he came here to win: The Great Lakes Heavyweight title held by Michael Shane.  Killings says it's nothing personal against Shane, he just likes to collect the bling.  With that Austin Aries rushes the ring and catches Killings by surprise!  Aries beats down Killings.  Looks like Aries is trying to make up for his recent losing streak.

Shannon Moore vs. "Textbook" Tyson Dux

Tyson Dux had troubles from the start.  He just couldn't match the fire that was coming off of Shannon Moore.  Moore has a public agenda for why he's here in GLWF and he wasn't about to let Tyson Dux stand in his way.  He has no personal qualms with Dux, but Shannon's ultimate goal of sticking it to GCW is more important than making friends along the way.  Dux had a few chances for a comeback, but wasn't able to hold onto them for long.  Dux did manage to save himself from a Mooregasm, but was hit with a spinning heel kick right away after whipping Moore into the ropes which was just barely enough for a three count.

Shannon Moore pinned Tyson Dux after a spinning heel kick in 0:06:18.

MAIN EVENT #1 CAGE MATCH: Raven vs. "The Showstopper" H.B. Cade

H.B. Cade is not happy with Raven.  If you'll remember Raven dropped Cade, saying Cade was dead weight.  Their results were shaping up to what Raven would have liked and despite the fact that at least some of the blame should be shouldered by Raven, he wasn't about to listen to that "nonsense" as he put it.  Raven has been very vocal about Cade's inabilities ever since on his website and on GLWF's website.  Cade's comtempt has been growing and growing with each snide remark.  Some may question Cade's decision to have the match be a cage match.  After all Raven is a crafty veteran of the sport of pro wrestling, Cade is still relatively young.  The cage is an unforgiving cell of steel, Cade won't have the option to take a breather on the outside if Raven is laying it on too thick.  In that same regard, Raven has no where to run if Cade turns some heads in this match, which some are saying, with his new drive to defeat Raven, he very well may.   The match had a lot of brawling, but had some good spots of wrestling too.  Cade tried to escape the cage a few different times, but Raven always managed to catch him.  Thankfully for Cade, he never took a big spill and managed to stay in it pretty well.  It ended up being quite a blood bath as these two weren't pulling any punches.  Cade wanted to hurt Raven to prove he wasn't useless, and Raven wanted to hurt Cade to prove that he was.  Cade was in control until he went for a big flying dropkick and Raven side stepped him.  Cade couldn't recover fast enough and got planted with the Raven Effect to end things.

[MAIN EVENT #1]: Cage Match:
Raven pinned H.B. Cade with the Raven Effect in 0:17:55.

Michael Shane, Traci Brooks and Austin Aries come out to the ring with smug looks.  Shane starts off by saying how proud he is of Aries for what he did earlier tonight.  Great way to take initiative.  He just hopes that he'll continue this into wins in the ring.  Michael Shane continues by saying that they are out here for a very important reason and given what happened last week, everyone should already know what this announcement is... the newest member of the Age of Shane... Paul Burchill!  Burchill comes out to a lot of boos after turning on Samoa Joe last week, once again costing Joe a chance to hold the heavyweight title.  Shane & Burchill take turns gloating about what they did to Joe and how neither he nor the fans ever saw it coming.  After a few minutes of mockery out runs Samoa Joe with a chair!  The ring clears!  Joe is super pissed now.  The Age of Shane head to the back as the crowd chants for Joe.  Things seems to be far from over here.

MAIN EVENT #2 Two-out-of-Three Falls: "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson vs. "The Anarchist" Doug Williams

One word for this match: Excellent.  It was beautiful technically.  Neither really resulted to all out brawling... that is until after the first fall in just two minutes.  Doug Williams has been complaining that his losses to Danielson have been flukes.  That AmDrag got some lucky quick pins and that really, he didn't win.  Well, it was another quick pin that was the first fall as Danielson got a small package out of nowhere.  Williams was livid.  He turned his aggression up to 11... most people's aggression only go to 10... its unknown why his aggression doesn't just go up to 10 and just have his 10 be more aggressive than someone else's 10.  Regardless Danielson had a hard time keeping up with Williams after that.  He managed to make a lot of great kick outs, but couldn't grasp control away for more than a few fleeting moments.  Williams hit a bit spinebuster to tie things up one to one.  Williams seemed a little more confident and decided to try and toy with Danielson more, feeling that the match was now definitely his.  Big mistake.  Williams left some openings that Danielson took advantage of and it seemed like AmDrag might pull one out.  Danielson whips Williams into the corner, but Williams reverses it.  Danielson uses the turnbuckles as steps and moonsaults off the top, but Williams saw it coming and didn't run in after Danielson!  He pushes Danielson into the turnbuckle... CHAOS THEORY!  One!  Two!  Three!!

[MAIN EVENT #2]: Two-out-of-three-Falls Match:
Doug Williams beat Bryan Danielson 2 falls to 1:
        x B. Danielson beat D. Williams via a small package in 0:01:58
        x D. Williams beat B. Danielson via a spinebuster slam in 0:06:28
x D. Williams beat B. Danielson via the Chaos Theory in 0:11:12

Poor Siaki... he needs his Universal Title back!  Decent enough match to kick things off.  Not huge on Harry Smith at this point, but I like Siaki's potential.

Way to see Aries take some initiative.  Right now he's just a lackey more or less.  He needs something like this to put himself out there a bit more.

Moore keeps winning, which sucks, as he is trying to bring me and GCW down!  That punk. :)

Really really good cage match.  I was surprised to see Raven and Cade put on such a good match.  Was rooting for Cade, but I was happy with how this match went down.

Burchill... that damn turncoat!  Me certainly shivers me timbers!  Samoa Joe's gonna kick his ass, sho nuff.

Good main event, as it was nice to see a GCW guy win in a great match.  A great way to end what was for all intents and purposes your best card to date.  I'm very impressed.
