Match #1
Shark Boy vs. Red
High Voltage kicked off with the in-ring return of the Amazing Red, who had been on the shelf since October with a torn left triceps. Red returned at Deadly Draw to assist Frankie Kazarian in winning the Cruiserweight Title, but he would be in his first match tonight against Shark Boy. Some ring rust was expected, but we didn't get a chance to see any ring rust as Red completely surprised Shark Boy early on and dropped him with a sitdown facebuster. The InfraRed followed not long after, and in perhaps record time, Red had defeated Shark Boy.

Red pinned Shark Boy with the InfraRed in 0:00:34.
Rating: *

Shark Boy may not have a sparkling win-loss record, but he is always very competitive in his matches. Tonight, Red bumrushed him and picked up a highly impressive win. Red is back and with a chip on his shoulder.

Match #2
Star Quality vs. The Briscoes (unsigned)
Tag team action featuring Star Quality was next as they locked up with unsigned talent, the Briscoe Brothers. These matches can serve as a platform for these unsigned wrestlers to get noticed, but this wouldn't be a good experience for the Briscoes. "Ravishing" Rob Conway and "The Blueprint" Matt Morgan had their way with the youngsters en route to an easy victory.

Star Quality (Matt Morgan and Rob Conway) defeated Jay Briscoe and Mark Briscoe when M. Morgan pinned M. Briscoe with the Choke Slam in 0:01:38.
Rating: ** 1/4

Star Quality continues to impress and are really coming into their own as a team.

Match #3
Sean O'Haire (w/ Daffney) vs. Josh Prohibition (unsigned)
Sean O'Haire was also competing tonight as he took on unsigned Josh Prohibition. Though Prohibition fared better than the Briscoes before him, this match was never really in doubt as the Prophecy's muscle had his way with the much smaller Prohibition. Prohibition had a decent amount of offense, but O'Haire bowled through him and put him away with relative ease.

Sean O'Haire pinned Josh Prohibition with the Seanton Bomb in 0:08:30.
Rating: ** 1/4

Match #4
MAIN EVENT
Abyss vs. Charlie Haas (World Tag Team champion)
A big time main event to close out High Voltage as Abyss took on one half of the World Tag Team champions Charlie Haas. Abyss and his partner The Hurricane have a shot at being the number-one contenders in a match against Booker T and Goldust tomorrow, but Abyss had a chance to draw first blood against the World's Greatest Tag Team. Through the early stages of this match, Abyss was clearly ahead on points, which prompted Shelton Benjamin to come down to Haas' corner. Not long after, The Hurricane came to even out the sides. With The Hurricane canceling out Benjamin, this match stayed clean, and Haas' attempts to work on Abyss' legs proved to be fruitless as a huge powerslam from the behemoth would put this one in the bag.

Abyss pinned Charlie Haas after a powerslam in 0:08:57.
Rating: **

A huge victory for Abyss. If Abyss and The Hurricane can win tomorrow night, they have a huge edge over the champs as Haas looked absolutely lost throughout much of this match.

Good to see Red doing well for himself after heading back up to the big leagues.  I kinda grew attatched to the little bugger.

Geez, maybe you should remain it "GCW Sunday Night Squash" ;)

I'm torn with who to root for in the #1 contender match for the tag titles.  Either will be good.  Abyss & Hurricane may have an advantage going into the title match if they win tomorrow after seeing Haas' reaction to Abyss.
