Match #1
Star Quality vs. Buck Quartermain/Lex Lovett (unsigned)
We got this edition of High Voltage going with tag team action as Star Quality, the upstart tag team, taking on the unsigned Buck Quartermain and Lex Lovett. As we expected out of this one, it wasn't very competitive. Morgan and Conway are really coming into their own as a team, and they had fun with this one. With the outcome never really in doubt, both men showecased their skills before the Blueprint mercifully pinned Quartermain after a Moonlight Bomb.

Star Quality (Matt Morgan and Rob Conway) defeated Buck Quartermain and Lex Lovett when M. Morgan pinned B. Quartermain after a Moonlight Bomb in 0:03:15.
Rating: * 1/2

Match #2
Matt Hardy (w/ Lita) vs. John Bradshaw Layfield (w/ Shaniqua & Lamont)
We thought we were going to see a great match between Matt Hardy and John Bradshaw Layfield, but instead what we saw was an impromptu brawl between JBL and Abyss! As JBL stepped out of his limo, Abyss blindsided him, smashing his face into the limo! JBL couldn't mount a counter as Abyss caught him completely off-guard and was overwhelming him. JBL's night got much worse when Abyss took his left arm and slammed it in the limo door! The GCW Official Brigade (with the help of The Hurricane) finally got Abyss away from JBL, but the damage had definitely been done. And worse yet for JBL, he still had Matt Hardy waiting for him in the ring! To JBL's credit, he wrestled the match, but he was in no shape to put up a serious fight here. Hardy didn't ask for the interference, but you can't blame him for taking advantage of it as he locked on a Fujiwara armbar to which JBL promptly submitted.

Matt Hardy made John Bradshaw Layfield submit to a Fujiwara armbar in 0:01:49.
Rating: **

We know now that JBL won't miss any time due to his injuries, but his arm is going to be sore for awhile, that's for sure. So far Abyss had been on the defensive end of JBL's attacks, but Abyss has shown tonight that he will take action as well.

Match #3
"Primetime" Elix Skipper vs. Jeff Hardy (w/ Daffney)
Cruiserweight action next with Elix Skipper taking on the Prophecy's Jeff Hardy. Since he and Low-Ki lost the World Tag Team Titles, Skipper has lost some of his swagger. He's wrestling good matches but he hasn't been able to put opponents away. Jeff Hardy was no exception. Skipper dominated most of this match until he let Daffney, his former manager, distract him. Jeff Hardy used this lapse of Primetime's concentration to bring down Skipper with the Twist of Fate (a blatant slap to the face of his brother) before hitting the Swanton Bomb for the 1-2-3.

Jeff Hardy pinned Elix Skipper with the Swanton Bomb in 0:09:26.
Rating: ****

Match #4
MAIN EVENT
Television Title Match
CM Punk (c) (w/ Daffney) vs. "The Italian Stallion" Chuck Palumbo
CM Punk had to make a Television Title defense tonight in our main event, but Tommy Dreamer gave him the option of choosing his opponent. Punk could have went out on the limb and gave a deserving individual a crack at championship gold, but who does he choose? The Italian Stallion. That's right, Chuck Palumbo could be our Television champion at the end of this night. Palumbo, to the shock of most, actually toned down some of his insanity and tried to focus on winning this match. Unfortunately for Palumbo, he's still himself, and it was just a matter of time before Punk put him away.

CM Punk pinned Chuck Palumbo with the Pepsi Plunge in 0:05:26.
Rating: *** 3/4
(CM Punk retained the GCW Television Title.)

Me likey Star Quality.  Even if it's a win against two unsigned wrestlers, it'll add to their momentum and thats good for me.

I was kinda looking forward to seeing what Hardy & JBL did in the ring here on the HV as I like to call it.  Just don't add the word "Impact" in the middle... anyway, Abyss attacking JBL is a perfectly acceptable reason for us not to get a real match between the two. :)  Me thinks just one big JBL/Abyss match isn't going to do it.  This smells like a feud that won't die easily at all.

Hardy sticks it to Hardy.  Nice.  Almost type "mice."  "Mice" would not have been a good adjective for the situation.  Anyway, Skipper should look into getting back into the tag scene.  Even if he can't contest for the titles, wins are wins and look better than losses.

Good closer.  Palumbo was able to tone down his insanity?  Are you sure he wasn't just sleepy?  He's one crazy mofo.  Maybe the crazies would have helped him a little bit more.  If he could have just gotten himself to "naked-hobo-standing-in-the-street-preaching-religion-that-revolves-around-hamsammiches" status he could really go places. :)

Explosion feedback much later tonight or tomorrow.  Damn it, now I've got to start writing again... :P
