GLWF Action TV: 2/19/05...

americamamushiPosted on 11/13/05 at 04:05:54

Welcome once again to GLWF Action TV!  We're coming to you from our facilities in Kalamazoo, Michigan and tonight we have three great matches lined up for our hour of wrestling.  *Michael Shane's music hits* Well, we knew he was going to be in the arena tonight and apparently he's got something to say.  Let's go down to the ring and see what exactly it is.

*Michael Shane comes down to the ring with the female fan that helped him last week.  We can clearly see this week that it's Traci Brooks, Shane's girlfriend.*

Michael Shane: Well how about that last week, huh?  I've beaten Samoa Joe twice in a row now.  How does it feel Kalamazoo?  How does it feel to have your little golden boy of the independent scene get beaten by the essence of excellence?  I was unstoppable before, and I proved it.  Now, if there was a level beyond unstoppable, I'd be that, because I have my girl Traci by my side.  Behind every good man there is a good woman, any one who tells you different is an idiot.  I'm good by myself, but with Traci in my corner and... "cheering" me on, we're great and I plan on keeping this title around my waist for a long time to come.  No tubby samoan is gonna take it away.  I know that we just made your night, but try and enjoy the rest of the show kids. *Shane & Traci pose and the crowd boos*

Clara Michaels: Ladies and gentlemen welcome to the Great Lakes Wrestling Federation!  Our first match is a singles match scheduled for one fall... *Clara is interrupted by the music of Jimmy Jacobs*

Jimmy Jacobs: I'm sorry to interrupt you Clara, but this can't wait.  I noticed last week that Sonny Siaki had something on his shoulder last week.  He calls it a title belt but it looks more like something made by a blind first grader.  I'm still not sure what in the world makes Siaki thinks he's a champion.  Don't you have to... you know... win a title?  It's only been one week but Siaki has been getting on my nerves since day one.  So come on Siaki.  Why don't you come out and face me again.  You beat me once, but I don't think you can beat me twice.  And not only do I want a match, but I want you to put your little pissant "title" on the line so I can take it away before you embarrass the GLWF anymore.

*Siaki comes out and he doesn't look happy.  His belt looks a little nicer though.  It has sparkles on it this week.  It also looks like it has a new layer of foil*

Siaki had a hard time against Jacobs.  Jimmy was unleashes everything he had.  It really did seem like he felt it was up to him to help the GLWF save face and get rid of Siaki's ridiculous title belt.  Both guys ended up coming off good, but Jimmy was the more dominant force tonight.  Siaki new he was in trouble and tried to run away from Jacobs several times, but Jacobs caught him before he got to far.  This match was a lot of brawling as Jimmy seemed to just want to literally "beat up" Siaki.  At one point Siaki tried to leave and this time tried to take his belt with him.  Jimmy grabbed him through the ropes as he walked past the ring on his way to the aisle, and pulled him back in.  Jimmy ran into the far ropes it looked like he was going for a cross body block but Siaki plowed his fake belt into Jacob's head!  Hard enough to spin Jacobs slightly while in mid air!  What the hell?  The ref is calling for the DQ and Siaki pulls the foil off... Siaki put a steel plate in the cardboard!  That's why it looks thicker!  Sonny put a damn steel plate on it and there is a clear indentation from Jacob's head in it as well.  Siaki may have lost, but he keeps his "belt."

Jimmy Jacobs defeated Sonny Siaki by DQ in 0:14:14.
Rating: *** 1/2

Clara Michaels: Our next match is a singles match scheduled for one fall!  Introducing first... from Aberdeen, Washington... weighing in at 185lbs... "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson!  And his opponent... from Paris France... weighing in at 250lbs... "The French Phenom" Rene Dupree!

This match had some good back and forth in the beginning.  Dupree gained the upper hand with a flying fore arm, followed by the french tickler and a 2 count.  Dupree really wore Danielson down with holds and well placed shots.  He tried his best to pick Danielson apart.  Danielson made a few big comeback attempts, but each time he tried for a big high risk move and it ended up backfiring and hurt much more than it helped.  Danielson finally got the formula right though and mounted a huge comeback.  He tried for the high risk move again and this time caught himself before making a mistake and catching Dupree with a huge flying dropkick that hit him right on the button.  He hit a kneebreaker and flowed it right into a big dragon suplex for two.  Dupree barely kicked out, but before he could get up Bryan swooped onto him like a vulture and locked in the Cattle Mutilation.

Bryan Danielson defeated Rene Dupree when Rene Dupree passed out in the Cattle Mutilation in 0:12:03.
Rating: ** 3/4

Clara Michaels: Our next match is a singles match scheduled for one fall!  Introducing first... from Orange County, California... weighing in at 270lbs... Samoa Joe!  And his opponent... from Atlanta, Georgia... weighing in at 224lbs... "The Car" Ernest Miller!

Joe was obviously still upset about another unfair loss to Michael Shane over the Great Lakes Heavyweight title last week.  Joe used a lot of stiff kicks and chops on Miller.  Miller hung in there surprisingly long thanks to his background, trading blows with Joe.  For the opening 2 minutes you'd almost swear you were watching a kickboxing match, with no gloves and knifehand chops.  Joe grew tired of this and took it back into the realm of wrestling with a vicious brain buster.  Joe threw Miller into the corner and did the boot wash to the applause of the crowd.  He propped Miller up on the turnbuckle and hits a muscle buster.  The crowd thought it was over, but Joe shook his finger in a no-ward fashion and picked Miller up again, hitting a big DVD.  Joe said "One More" and hit a huge powerbomb and held onto Miller's legs for the pin.

Samoa Joe pinned Ernest Miller after a power bomb in 0:04:51.
Rating: ** 3/4

After the fight out ran Austin Aries, he hit the ring and springboarded in, but Joe caught him!  It looked like he was going to hit an STK, but Joe hadn't noticed Shane came through the crowd and slid in the ring behind him!  Joe turned around still holding Aries' face in an Iron Claw and got rocked with a belt shot!  Aries & Shane are putting the boots to Joe!  They position him and Aries hits the 450 Splash... and Shane follows it with the Picture Perfect Elbow!  Shane & Aries look so proud of themselves as they head to the back.  Refs come out to check on Joe, but Joe shoves them away and returns to the back (barely) on his own power.

Clara Michaels: Our next match is a triple threat match scheduled for one fall and is the main event of the evening!  Introducing first... from Calgary, Alberta, Canada... weighing in at 251lbs... "Bulldog" Harry Smith!  And his opponent... from Windsor, Ontario, Canada... weighing in at 185lbs... "Textbook" Tyson Dux!  And their opponent... from Detroit, Michigan... weighing in at 199lbs... "The Next" Alex Shelley!

Smith and Shelley started the match off.  Smith was crisp and forceful with his delivery.  He didn't want another loss on his record.  Smith stayed in for the entire match, dishing out to Dux & Shelley and not taking much in return.  Smith wasn't doing a great job of cutting his opponents off from getting a tag, but he was more concerned with dealing out beatings and it was working for him.  You'd almost swear it was a handicap match.  The feel was very much "Smith vs. Dux & Shelley."  You could almost taste Harry's victory.  There were times when he was so close to a three count or so close to a submission that the crowd let out a unanimous "OH!" when the didn't get the victory.  The fans weren't against Dux, but they were for Smith.  Despite Smith's record the crowd has really gotten behind him.  Smith wanted to do his supporters proud.  Smith grabbed Dux and backed up into the corner.  Smith hit a big running powerslam!  Smith was expecting a count from the ref... but the ref was pulling Smith off of Dux and sending him to the corner!  Shelley made a blind tag when Smith backed up!  Shelley rushes into the ring while the ref is dealing with a ticked off Smith and hits the Shell Shock and pins.  The ref turns around and counts the three before Smith can get back in and break the pin!

[MAIN EVENT]: Triangle Match:
Alex Shelley defeated Harry Smith and Tyson Dux when A. Shelley pinned Dux with the Shell Shock in 0:14:49.
Rating: ***

Shelley exits the ring as fast as he can to prevent a beating from Smith who is livid with what happened.  Shelley does the traditional "Heel pointing to their head 'cause they're so gosh darn smart" bit all the way up the ramp.  Smith was just about to break the losing streak and he got screwed out of it by Shelley.  Damn Shelley!  Join us next week, when we'll start the tournament for the Great Lakes tag team titles!  We've even got the debut of a hot new tag team lined up for the tournament so be sure not to miss it.  We'll see you next time for Action TV live from K-Zoo!

Ooh... Michael Shane is a dick, and yay Traci Brooks.

Yay!  Now with glitter!  Siaki rules... he put a steel plate in the cardboard belt, and kept it secure with tinfoil!  Jacobs is not going to be happy, oh no he's not.

Nice win for Danielson over the French Phenom.  I'd like to see a bit more out of Dupree in GLWF, because, you know, he rules and stuff.

Well wasn't Samoa Joe in a nasty mood?  Abnd a big beatdown by Aries and Shane.  Aries/Shane alliance going to be permanent?

Good main event... Harry Smith's bad luck continues.  But he's over, and I think Shelley needed the win more than Smith anyway.

Good show, mate.

Oh man, Sonny Siaki is awesome right now - taking my advice to add glue on sparkles garners points, as does finding ways to use it as a makeshift weapon.

Good ending to the main, clearly putting over both Shelley and Smith. Smith'll need that win eventually but at least he looked good here.
