GLWF Action TV: 2/12/05...

americamamushiPosted on 11/09/05 at 01:40:39

Welcome once again to GLWF Action TV!  We're coming to you from our facilities in Kalamazoo, Michigan and tonight we'll be seeing a re-match between Samoa Joe and our newly crowned Great Lakes Heavyweight Champion Michael Shane!  Joe made the challenge after Shane stole the win away last week, but Will he be 100% tonight?  Let's get down to action with Clara Michaels in the ring.

Clara Michaels: Ladies and gentlemen welcome to the Great Lakes Wrestling Federation!  Our first match is a singles match scheduled for one fall!  Introducing first, from Grand Rapids, Michigan... weighing in at 169lbs... "The Barbaric Berserker" Jimmy Jacobs!  And his opponent... from Kalamazoo, Michigan... weighing in at 195lbs... Josh Abercrombie!

Jacobs seemed to be a bit out of his game tonight as he took on Josh Abercrombie, who has been looking for his break out win, but just hasn't been able to find it yet.  Abercrombie has been really putting forth the effort, but just hasn't been able to keep things going his way and finish off the match.  It seemed like Abercrombie might have had the right combination tonight as they seemed to really dominate the match.  Moments when you could really say Jimmy was in control were few and far between.  The fans cheered both men and there weren't any real dull moments.  It looked like Abercrombie was going to walk away with the win after hitting a big lung blower.  He went up top for the Phoenix Splash put took way too much time playing to the crowd and was met with Jimmy's knees to his gut when he finally went for the finish.  Both men recovered at about the same time, but Jimmy grabbed Abercrombie and hit the Contra Code before Abercrombie could mount another offensive onslaught and got the win.

Jimmy Jacobs pinned Josh Abercrombie with the Contra Code in 0:07:09.
Rating: *** 1/4

After the match, in a show of good sportsmanship, Jacobs & Abercrombie shook hands.

After Jacobs & Abercrombie head to the back Sonny Siaki comes out... and he has something on his shoulder... it looks like cardboard & tin foil... oh god.  It's a belt.  It's a homemade title belt.  Siaki looks to proud to have it on his shoulder, like he's a real champion.

Sonny Siaki: I told you that I was a winner.  I said I was a champion, didn't I?  And no one believed me.  Well here's the proof.  See?  It says "Universal Heavyweight champion." (On a side note Heavyweight is spelled wrong)  That's even better than being just a World Heavyweight Champion and it's certainly better than being a Great Lakes Heavyweight champion.  Cause you see, I've been reading and I figured it out.  See, here in the GLWF there is just a Great Lakes Heavyweight title.  Sure, it's the top title of the GLWF and all, but a Universal champion goes beyond just the GLWF.  Then there is the GCW.  GCW has a World Heavyweight title, but that limits you to just the world and while the world is big, the world is in the universe.  The universe is like... infinite or something.  I thought about going after the solar system title... but that wasn't big enough... then I thought about the galaxy title... but that wasn't big enough to represent my greatness... then it occurred to me... what if there was something... bigger.  Something bigger might have the bigness to hold my greatness.  So I looked for something bigger than a galaxy and lucky for me there was the universe.  And now let's bring out my opponent.  But I won't be putting my title on the line against him.  He's not in my league.  My opponent, "Textbook" Tyson Dux.

Dux comes out and Siaki attacks him before the bell.  He couldn't keep control for long and Dux quickly fought back and got on top of things.  Siaki ran like a scolded dog whenever he could.  It looked like Dux would have won the so called "Universal title" had it been on the line and had it been... you know... a real title.  Siaki had one near fall after a backspin DDT, but after Dux kicked out he just tried to walk out again.  It seemed that retreat was what Siaki had in mind as opposed to losing by pinfall or submission, which would obviously tarnish his so called reputation.  Dux ran at Siaki on the outside, but Siaki got out of the way and Dux ended up hitting the corner post head on.  Dux was rattled after that and Siaki quickly capitalized with punches before throwing Dux into the ring and hitting the Siakolypse NOW.

Sonny Siaki pinned Tyson Dux with the Siakolypse NOW in 0:07:02.

Siaki clutched his cardboard title dearly after his win and celebrated like he was the king of the world... or universe rather.

Clara Michaels: Our next match is a tag team match scheduled for one fall!  Introducing first, at a total combined weight of 436lbs... "Bulldog" Harry Smith & "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson!  And their opponents... at a total combined weight of 401lbs... Austin Aries & "The Next" Alex Shelley!

After their match last week where they were opponents, it appears that Danielson and Smith have a new found respect for eachother and wanted to team together with week.  Both teams worked well together.  Not as crisp as a team that's been doing it for a while, but well enough.  Surprisingly Shelley & Aries kept Smith down a lot.  They used a lot of quick tags to keep Smith cut off from the other side of the ring and used Danielson's desire to get in the ring and wrestle to their advantage, drawing him in to distract the ref whenever they could for some underhanded tactics.  Smith eventually managed to power his way onto the offensive and made a hot tag to bring in Danielson who lit up his opponents like a chain smoker in Marlboro Country.  Shelley and Danielson battled it out for a little bit before Smith got tagged back in and  things digressed and all four men were in the ring.  Danielson threw Aries to the outside and the two went at it on the outside while on the inside Shelley managed to get Smith reeling after a big double knee pat and hit a springboard back elbow that stunned Smith just enough to get a three count, but Shelley wasn't sticking around for Smith to get revenge.

Austin Aries and Alex Shelley defeated Bryan Danielson and Harry Smith when A. Shelley pinned Smith after a springboard back elbow in 0:07:12.

*Paul Birchall's music hits and out he comes... and he doesn't look happy at all*

Paul Birchall: I'm going to make this short and sweet because the more time I talk the less time I'm kicking arse.  H.B. Cade... last week you interfered in my match with Raven.  Tonight, I'm gonna teach you a lesson, get your bloody arse out here.

H.B. Cade comes out in his normal fashion, but Birchall doesn't appreciate the wait and exits the ring to meet him half way.  Cade sees him coming and doesn't get caught by surprise.  Cade hits the first blow but Birchall quickly uses his power to gain the advantage and really takes it to Cade in the aisle.  Birchall stays in control as they slowly work their way to the ring.  Cade slides in the ring and gains the advantage back when Birchall follows him in.  The match is actually underway now with both men in the ring and Cade can't keep the advantage very long.  Birchall picks Cade up and dumps him to the outside.  The big man is gonna take a big risk!  Senton Suicide Dive... but Cade moves out of the way and Birchall hits floor!  Birchall looks hurt after that.  Cade works over Birchall's back on the outside and breaks the count when the ref gets to 8 to unleash more punishment on the floor.  What's this?  Raven has emerged from the curtain with a chair!  Cade sees Raven and rolls back in the ring to distract the ref.  Birchall is stirring and he's trying to get back in the ring... but Raven runs at him and hits a vicious chair shot!  Birchall clutches his back in extreme pain!  Cade lets the ref do his business and Birchall gets counted out!

H.B. Cade defeated Paul Birchall by countout in 0:09:18.

[Raven interfered against Paul Birchall.]

Clara Michaels: Our next match is our main event of the evening and is scheduled for one fall!  Introducing first, from Orange County, California... weighing in at 270lbs... Samoa Joe!  And his opponent... from San Antonio, Texas... weighing in at 201lbs... the Great Lakes Heavyweight Champion... "The Essence of Excellence" Michael Shane!

Things tonight started off much the same as last week.  Samoa Joe seemed a little more vicious if that's possible, but Shane still wrestled a clean match.  The match went for a while without their being a clear idea of who was actually winning.  They exchanged blows, exchanged holds, exchanged throws and both took some punishment, while also dealing out a good deal of it too.  The crowd really got behind Joe and Shane definitely didn't like it.  Shane was the first to visibly take control, capitalizing on Joe running shoulder first into the turnbuckle after he got out of the way.  Shane even added insult to injury by locking on Joe's Kokina Clutch!  Joe fought out of the hold with the help of his fans.  Joe went on the offensive and stayed there hitting moves with some impressive impact.  This re-match wasn't as filled with big spots as last week's encounter, but was definitely a real good and entertaining match, just a slightly different feel to it.  Joe broke Shane down with a few vicious kicks and a jumping knee while Shane was in the corner before latching on the Kokina Clutch.  Lucky for Shane Joe was so caught up with causing pain he didn't think about ring positioning and Shane grabbed the ropes to break the hold.  Joe put Shane up in the corner and tried to hit the Muscle Buster, but Shane got his head loose and turned it into a sunset flip with a surprised Joe kicking out at two.  Joe tried to hit a lariat right away to take Shane back out, but Shane ducked, or rather it looked like he collapsed and Joe hit the ref, thankfully not with his full force, but the ref was down and hurting.  Joe checked on the ref and some female fan runs up to the ring and hands something to Michael Shane!  Joe turned around and eats a face full of brass knuckles!!  Shane grabs Joe and hits a back suplex with he bridges into a pin.  The groggy ref crawls over and makes the three.  Joe tries to make an effort to kick out, but it's too little too late.

[MAIN EVENT: Re-Match]:
Michael Shane pinned Samoa Joe after a back suplex in 0:25:26.
Rating: **** 1/2
(Michael Shane retained the Great Lakes Heavyweight title.)

Shane rolls to the outside and grabs his title before hugging the fan and walking to the back in celebration with her.  What the hell is going on?  Joe just got screwed out of the title again.  Hopefully we'll know more next week when we bring you GLWF Action TV, live from right here in Kalamazoo!  Good night everyone!

Good opener.  Not an unexpected result.  Jacobs looks good in GLWF.

Siaki made a belt!  It's even better that it's cardboard and tinfoil.  Yay Siaki.

He actually backed up his fake belt words with a good victory over Tyson Dux.  I like where Siaki is in GLWF at this point.

It looked like Harry Smith was on his way to getting a big push, so dropping a fall like that to Shelley hurts more than it helps.  Good match, but I disagree with the result.

Are Cade and Raven in cahoots or just working together against Birchall?  The most important thing though is H.B. Cade rules. :)

A female fan!?  Oh my... who is it?  I suppose if you're going by reality it could be Traci Brooks, but you seem to be in your own alternate reality. :)  Great main event though, and Samoa Joe still has cause for a rematch.

You may not like what I did with Smith tonight, but I think as things progress you'll see the method to my madness. ;)

Ha, that Siaki thing was excellent. I'd actually be anticipating him defending it and expecting his opponents to take the piece of cardboard seriously, and if he lost it actually expecting them to carry it around with them and defend it. The only thing that could have topped that would have been glue on sparkles. It REALLY needed some sparkles, or glitter, or something.

Pushing Siaki.. I like! Never understood why TNA didn't try to push him..

Abercrombie should go to RoH so I can take a look at him. I don't know about this Cade and Burchill thing.. not a big fan of either one. Is Raven really on the GCW roster, but is down recuperating or something in the development territory? I find the whole concept you and Snabbit are doing quite intriguing.

The female fan should prove interesting.. Traci is the obvious choice, of course..

Ryan should get all the credit.  It was his idea

I'm just waiting to really get going with a storyline and then Ryan swoops in and snatches the guy up for the big times ;)

Duh - you're competition that he can actually harm.
americamamushiPosted on 11/11/05 at 00:28:22

Hey, I'm not competition, I'm the GCW developemental fed :)
