Welcome once again to GLWF Action TV!  We're coming to you from our facilities in Kalamazoo, Michigan as we begin the next stage in the road to the Great Lakes Heavyweight title, the quarterfinal round of our title tournament!  Tonight is sure to be full of action as we will have 8 men wrestling tonight that obviously have the skill, because they were able to make it out of  the opening stages.  Now here's GLWF ring announcer Clara Michaels...

Clara Michaels: Ladies and gentlemen welcome to the Great Lakes Wrestling Federation!  Our first match is a quarter final match in the Great Lakes Heavyweight title tournament and is scheduled for one fall!  Introducing first, from Detroit, Michigan... weighing in at 199lbs... "The Next" Alex Shelley! *Shelley comes out to boos.  The fans must remember what he said about people from Kalamazoo last week* And his opponent... from Calgary, Alberta, Canada... weighing in at 251lbs... "Bulldog" Harry Smith!

The match starts off with Shelley offering a handshake.  Smith hesitates, but goes to accept it.  Shelley pulls his hand away at the last second and laughs.  Smith goes for a lock up but Shelley ducks.  When they turn around Shelley tries for a lariat, but Smith ducks, Smith goes for a powerslam, but Shelley manages to push off as he's being lifted up.  He whips Smith into the ropes and smacks him with an elbow when he comes back. Then Shelley runs into the ropes himself, but is met with a kick.  Smith tries for an armdrag, but Shelley counters with a backslide for one.  Smith whips Shelley into the ropes and goes for a dropkick, but Shelley holds on and Smith hits air.  Shelley tries for a pin for one.  Smith gets up and Shelley charges at him with a lariat, Gorilla press slam!  Shelley gets out of the ring and the fans cheer for Smith.  The rest of the match doesn't have quite the same intensity as those opening minutes, but it was by no means a slouch of a match.  Smith showed that he's got at least some of the power that his late father had and close to the same intensity.  Shelley showed... well... he showed that he's willing to do what it takes to get the title.  He wasn't above pulling out a thumb to the eye occasionally to help him get the upper hand back.  Smith managed to hit the running powerslam, but was positioned poorly in the ring and Shelley got a foot on the rope.  Smith also showed that he's still got to work those rookie mistakes out of his system.  Shelley used just about all the strength he had to hit the Shell Shock, but it was pretty obviously he couldn't put everything behind it and Smith kicked out at two.  In the end Smith latched on a dragon sleeper in the center of the ring.  Shelley broke out after a kick to the head.  Smith was stunned.  Shelley gave him a couple knee lifts and tried to whip him into the ropes, but Smith reversed it and hit a big powerslam for three.

Harry Smith pinned Alex Shelley after a powerslam in 0:16:07.

As Smith was celebrating his win out ran Raven!  Raven slides into the ring... foot to the gut... Raven Effect!  Smith is out!

Raven: Smith you think just because Raven is one of the damned that you can get away with an easy win.  I've put you out two times now.  You can have your little victory and you're little spot in the tournament because I've made my point.  Raven isn't just in the GLWF, he's here with force.  Raven isn't some washed up old codger.  And anyone that wants to mess with Raven will be huanted... and sentanced to eternal damnation, just... like... me!  *Raven extends his arms and his music plays*

Clara Michaels: Our next match is a quarter final match in the Great Lakes Heavyweight title tournament and is scheduled for one fall!  Introducing first, from San Antonio, Texas... weighing in at 201lbs... Michael Shane!

Michael Shane: Tonight you all are going to see the begining of a legend.  A legend that will last untill the end of time.  The master of the square circle... the Picture of Perfection... the future first GLWF Heavyweight champion.  Michael Shane.  And I don't care how talented you are... or how big you are... you're all gonna bow to the feet of Michael Shane.  The essence of excellence.

Clara Michaels: And his opponent... from Guildford, Surrey, England... weighing in at 280lbs... Paul Birchall!

Shane dives onto Birchall before he can even get in the ring... problem is that Birchall caught him... and threw him back INTO the ring.  Birchall followed him in but was met with stomps as he slid under the bottom rope.  Shane couldn't keep Birchall down though.  Birchall just over powered Shane... and by a great deal.  It wasn't long before Birchall threw Shane up on his shoulders and hit a burning hammer.  Birchall picked Shane up and ran into the ropes.  Birchall went for a huge clothesline, but Shane pulled the ref into the way.  The ref was dead.  Not literally, but he might of well have been.  If you could clothesline someone's skeleton out of their skin, it was that clothesline that had as much chance of any of doing it.  The ref was out.  Birchall turned his attention away from Shane and checked on the poor ref.  While this was happening, Shane went outside and grabbed a chair.  He slid into the ring and begin hacking at Birchall with it.  Birchall was already down on one knee checking on the ref so it wasn't a far fall after 3 shots to the back of the head.  Yes 3.  While there was no ref, Shane picked Birchall apart.  Paul was busted open and had taken some vicious damage, but would always manage to muster his way to his feet.  Birchall just kept coming for more and there was no ref to count.  Even with the chair, Shane couldn't get Birchall down unless he executed a move that took him down.  Finally a new ref was sent down and Shane disposed of the chair.  Birchall was wearing a crimson mask and looked a little wobbly from blood loss, not to mention all that steel-on-skull damage.  Shane said that this was the end.  Superkick!  Birchall didn't go down.  A second one!  Birchall was still on his feet.  A third!  Shane couldn't believe that Birchall was still standing, what a monster Birchall is!  A fourth... Birchall almost fell, but managed to stay on his feet... and a fifth!  Birchall didn't fall quickly.  It was litterally like pushing a red wood over.  Shane hit that kick... and Birchall just kinda leaned back and fall straight back like how giants always fall in movies.  Shane pinned... one... two... three!

Clara Michaels: Our next match is a quarter final match in the Great Lakes Heavyweight title tournament and is scheduled for one fall!  Introducing first, from Grand Rapids, Michigan... weighing in at 169lbs... "The Barbaric Berserker" Jimmy Jacobs!  And his opponent... from San Antonio, Texas... weighing in at 271lbs... "The Show Stopper" Garrison Cade! *Garrison comes out looking like he raided Shawn Michael's closet and acting just like he did during his debut, as much like HBK as possible*

Garrison Cade: I've been thinking it over for a couple weeks and it occured to me.  Just adding "The Show Stopper" isn't enough.  It doesn't portray me in the correct light.  I was trained by Shawn Michaels.  And during that training I picked up a lot from him.  I picked up some of his moves... some of this personality... and what did I do when I was ready to go out into the wrestling world?  I went in the opposite direction.  Last week it occured to me... why try and be something completely different when I can do Shawn Michaels... better than Shawn Michaels?  I'm not just a show stopper... I'm a heart breaker.  I break the hearts of the ladies that can't have me, and the men that can't beat me.  The name "Garrison" doesn't fit me.  That's why you're lookin' at "The Show Stopper"... H... B... Cade! *fans boo as Cade does the Michaels baseball stretch pose with a big smile on his face*

The match start up with a lock up.  They exchange a few simple locks and hold spots, with Jacobs coming out on top.  After a bit of this Cade kick sit into high gear and just dominates Jacobs.  Jacobs managed to duck a superkick attempt and went for a spear, but Cade saw it coming and braced himself.  He almost went down anyway, but he managed to stay on his feet and grab Jacobs, picking him up for a huge powerbomb in the center of the ring.  He went up top and hit a big Michaels-esque flying elbowdrop.  He took a minute to pose, then picked Jacobs up and tried to whip him into the ropes, but Jacobs reversed it.  When Cade came back Jacobs dropped to his stomach.  Cade went over and bounce off the other rope.  It looked like Jimmy was going to try and leap frog Cade this time, but one his way back Cade hit a huge boot to a mid-air Jacobs and pinned him.

Clara Michaels: Our next match is a quarter final match in the Great Lakes Heavyweight title tournament and is scheduled for one fall!  Introducing first, from Milwaukee, Wisconsin... weighing in at 202lbs... Austin Aries!  And his opponent... hailing from the Isle of Samoa... weighing in at 270lbs... Samoa Joe!

Aries and Joe started off slow.  Aries didn't have much desire to engage Joe head on.  Everytime they'd lock up and Joe would gain the upperhand Aries would quickly try and get away.  Aries managed to get a 2 count early on after dodging a charge into the corner from Joe.  He quickly put Joe up top and hit a top-rope frankensteiner.  Things went back to Joe again after that though.  Joe many times went back to the CCS, a jumping enzuigiri. To take Aries down.  Joe hit it out of a couple awkward places during the match to put a halt to Aries' offensive momentum.  One such example toward the end of the match sent Aries flying over the top rope to the outside.  Joe impressed the fans by jumping onto him with a tope con hilo that looked to hurt Joe, but thankfully not as much as it had hurt Aries.  Aries did manage to block a Northern Light Suplex attempt on the outside, but Joe successfully hit a vicious STK right after.  Aries looked to be out cold.  Joe picked him up and rolled him back into the ring.  Joe rolled in too and went for the pin, but it took him to long apparently because Aries kicked at 2.9.  Joe picked Aries up, sent him onto the far rope, bounced off the near rope and nailed a hard lariat and pinned him for three.

[Great Lakes Heavyweight title Tournament - Quarterfinals]:
Samoa Joe pinned Austin Aries after a lariat in 0:14:46.

Samoa Joe is onto the semi-finals next week against Garrison... er... H.B. Cade.  Speaking of H.B. Cade here he comes down the aisle!  Joe doesn't see him!  Cade is in the ring!  Joe turns around... SUPERKICK!  Joe is out!  Cade stands triumphant over Joe as if he's already won the semi-final match next week.  But Cade will have to face a fresh Samoa Joe next week, will he be able to get the superkick off?  Join us next week and we'll find out on GLWF Action TV!

Good stuff in the opener, Harry Smith with a good strong victory, but Raven makes him his bitch for week #2.  I sense a pattern here.

Birchall's the biggest man in GLWF, right?  Nice way to showcase that by having him play the big man against Shane, and it taking three superkicks for Shane to fell the giant.

H.B. Cade!  Woo!  I love this gimmick.  And he won against Jacobs as well he should have.

And Samoa Joe wins the main event as I thought he would, but Aries certainly didn't embarass himself.  And Cade gets the one up on Joe with the post-match attack.

Still no finishers. ;)

I predict... Shane over Smith, Joe over Cade.
