[GCW] High Voltage (BotB Hype) - 12/19/04

Snabbit888Posted on 07/27/05 at 10:35:05

The countdown is at 60 minutes until the final pay-per-view and as it were, the final Global Championship Wrestling show of 2004, Best of the Best! The card is set, and with 9 huge matches on the card, I'm sure that 2004 is going to go out with a bang! Before we got to the pay-per-view though, we had the matter of the High Voltage hype machine. All of the matches would be preview via video packages as well as one big match pitting newly solo Rob Conway against Justin Credible.

[Before his match, Justin Credible is in the ring. He takes the microphone from ring announcer William Buck.]

JC: I would just like to let everyone know that I will be wrestling this match, and every other match for that matter, under protest until I am given my shot at the Cruiserweight Title like I rightly deserve. Thank you.

[The crowd boos Credible loudly. It's not GCW's fault that Credible is over the weight limit to get a title shot at Paul London. The boos turn into a moderate pop as Rob Conway's music starts. Conway gets into the ring and he has a cockier, almost smug way about him. He takes the microphone from Buck as well.]

RC: You shouldn't worry about the Cruiserweight Title or any protest. What you need to be worrying about is Rob Conway. I'm on my own now, and things are going to change around here. Credible, you're going to be the first ro realize firsthand that we're doing things a different way now... the Con-way!

[Conway hands the microphone back to Buck. It looks like he's sporting a little bit of a cocky edge now that Nick Dinsmore is gone.]

Match #1
Rob Conway vs. Justin Credible
Just as he did a week ago when he wrestled Paul London, Justin Credible didn't look focused. He is so distraught over not getting that shot at the Cruiserweight Title that he has let it completely alter what he does in the ring. Rob Conway, on the other hand, looked fantastic tonight. This was a definite upgrade for him over his match with Television champion Christopher Daniels as he had the "singles match" mentality. Conway kept himself one step ahead throughout most of this match, countering a Credible charge into the corner with the Tornado DDT and picking up the victory.

Rob Conway pinned Justin Credible with the Tornado DDT in 0:07:45.
Rating: *** 1/2

Rob Conway impressed a lot of people tonight with his performance, picking up his first singles win A.D. (After Dinsmore). It looks like Justin Credible is going to have to go back to pandering for a Cruiserweight Title shot now.

[We cut to a shot of space. All that can be seen is stars. A voiceover speaks.]

VO: In the past, there were big stars...

[Images of Bruno Sammartino, Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, and Bret Hart flash across the screen.]

VO: In the present, there are big stars...

[Images of Brock Lesnar, Rey Mysterio Jr., Randy Orton, Chris Jericho, and World Heavyweight champion Kurt Angle flash across the screen.]

VO: But in the future... there will be no bigger star than...

[Slowly a picture of the man in question fades into the screen.]

VO: FRANKIE KAZARIAN... the Future is here...

[Slowly fade to black.]

i'm liking Credible's new thing.  I expect great things to come from it. :)  Maybe he should enlist the help of one Simon Dean to lose a couple pounds ;)

Yay! Rob in on his (con)way to the top... maybe.  Well, it's a start.

lol, love the Kazarian hype

*orders PPV*  Definitely worth the (fabulous) moolah

Evidently i'm neglecting my duties so I must now give my predictions for the PPV.  Here goes...

I think that Y2J will take Angle one out of my own hopes, and two because I think Orton will have his hand in it.

I'd like to think Orton will win but I think Lesner will have his beastly way with him.

Michaels will probably take O'Haire.. because he's so damn sexy. (NOT!)

Which means that Michaels will probably win it all.

I think E. Angle will win this one due to Guerroro going nucking futs on Brown making him weak for Angle.

I don't care who you think will win... I want to see Mysterio go loco on Daniels.

WGTT will win the titles.  Gotta give them a good heal rein.

Paul London is gonna keep his title.

Adn lastly, the Wolverine is gonna take this one.  Because he's awesome and I said so!!

There you have it... no matter how lame they are.
