[High Voltage kicks off with John Bradshaw Layfield and his limo driver, Lamont, standing in the ring. JBL has a microphone to start off the show.]

JBL: Well it looks like the injustice train keeps rolling along! I am a huge star! I am the greatest singles wrestler in history! No one here can deny those cold hard facts! But does anybody have any idea why I'm not on Explosion this week? No, instead of the entire world getting to see my greatness, what everyone pays their cold hard cash to see, I'm stuck on the opening match of High Voltage! And who am I facing? Lamont, who am I facing tonight?

L: Shark Boy, sir.

JBL: Shark Boy? Shark Boy? The grown man who thinks he's a shark. Great. My stock is really going to go up wrestling Shark Boy! But on the bright side, my string of bad luck has to end tonight! I mean, EVERYONE beats Shark Boy! No flukes tonight! JBL gets on the board with a win tonight, and after I dominate Shark Boy, you all will be chanting my name. J-B-L! J-B-L! J-B-L! [Noticing Lamont not speaking.] Chant, stupid! [Lamont joins in] J-B-L! J-B-L!

[JBL stops chanting.]

L: J-B-L! J-B...

JBL: All right, stop it. [Lamont does so.] And just remember everyone, I am John Bradshaw Layfield, and I'm better than you! Thank you!

[The crowd boos as JBL hands the microphone to William Buck.]

Match #1
Shark Boy vs. John Bradshaw Layfield (w/ Lamont)
JBL is tough, and he's rugged, and he talks a great game, but he hasn't been able to put a victory on his resume' in GCW. With all due respect to the skills of Shark Boy, tonight looked like as good a night as any for JBL to get off the snide as he had a considerable size, strength, and experience advantage over the eccentric man from the Sea. This match is a good showing of where JBL's mind is right now. JBL seemed to have this match well in hand, asserting his will over his much smaller opponent. However, after JBL nearly took Shark Boy's head off with a huge boot to the face, he called for Lamont to distract referee Antonio Santangelo. Lamont did so, allowing JBL to pull a pair of brass knuckles out of his trunks. JBL clocked Shark Boy in the head with them, sending him crashing like dead weight to the mat. Lamont stopped distracting the ref so he could make the count, but before Santangelo's hand came down for the three, he noticed the brass knuckles still on JBL's hand! Santangelo confronted JBL about it, but JBL denied all wrong doing, even though the evidence was right there on his hand. That was all the proof Santangelo needed as he called for the bell.

Shark Boy defeated John Bradshaw Layfield by disqualification in 0:04:04.
Rating: ** 3/4

John Bradshaw Layfield was actually on his way to winning this match, but his confidence is so shot that he thought he had to use a foreign object to win and instead, he got himself disqualified! Another week, and another loss for JBL. When will he ever get himself in the win column?

Match #2
Chris Hero vs. Abyss (w/ Shaniqua)
Shaniqua seems to be content right now with keeping Abyss under wraps. Since Abyss' battles with Steve Bradley, we haven't seen much of the Monster, which is quite surprising. Abyss has all of the tools and abilities - size, strength, no compassion for anyone, very agile for a big man - to be a future World Heavyweight champion, but Shaniqua is focusing all her efforts on making sure the Basham Brothers retain the World Tag Team Titles. Abyss doesn't seem to mind though as long as he has someone to beat the crap out of each week. Unfortunately for Chris Hero, it was his turn this week. Hero has a huge upside, but he just didn't have an answer for the intimidating presence of Abyss. Hero tried all that he could to keep the big man down, but it wasn't in the cards as Abyss eventually hit the Black Hole Slam and chalked up another victim.

Abyss pinned Chris Hero with the Black Hole Slam in 0:10:11.
Rating: ** 1/2

Match #3
The Hurricane vs. Matt Stryker
The Hurricane was in action tonight, taking on Matt Stryker, who is making his third appearance on High Voltage. Stryker was spirited in his efforts against the Man In Green, but The Hurricane was crisp. The Hurricane has a vast catalog of moves he can bust out when necessary, and he showed some of his diversity against the young Stryker. The Hurricane looked good and made short work of Matt Stryker after a nice dragon suplex.

The Hurricane pinned Matt Stryker after a dragon suplex in 0:04:04.
Rating: ***

A nice win for The Hurricane on Explosion as he looks to keep himself sharp in the Cruiserweight division.

Match #4
MAIN EVENT
The World's Greatest Tag Team vs. "Ironman" Rob Conway/"Mr. Wrestling" Nick Dinsmore
Our main event was a match between two of the teams that will be involved in Tag Team Turmoil with Rob Conway and Nick Dinsmore taking on the former champions, Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin, the World's Greatest Tag Team. This match was a great display of technical tag team wrestling, which is what these two tandems specialize in. Things started off slow with these four men feeling each other out, but the match sped up to a good pace as both teams jockeyed for the advantage. An errant kneedrop from Nick Dinsmore would be the difference though, as it was the beginning of the end. Haas and Benjamin are excellent at spotting a weakness and exploiting it, and that's what they did with their all out assault on Dinsmore's knee. Conway saved his partner a couple times in hopes of being able to buy Dinsmore enough time to make the tag, but Haas got Dinsmore in the deadly Haas of Pain. Conway tried to make one last save, but he was cut off by Shelton Benjamin as the pain became too great for Dinsmore to withstand.

The World's Greatest Tag Team (Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin) defeated Rob Conway and Nick Dinsmore when C. Haas defeated N. Dinsmore when N. Dinsmore passed out in the Haas Of Pain in 0:10:10.
Rating: *** 1/4

We went off the air with the World's Greatest Tag Team celebrating a hard fought victory on High Voltage.

Just seven days left until Glory! Remember, tomorrow night on Explosion, Kurt Angle will defend the World Heavyweight Title against Elix Skipper! You won't want to miss it!

You... you mean Shark Boy isn't actually a... a shark?  MY LIFE IS A LIE! *runs away crying*

Heh, heh.  "Everyone beats Shark Boy" thats funny.:)  What'll be great is if that gets changed to "Everybody BUT JBL beats Shark Boy ;)

BWA HA HA HA HA!  That's funny shit Ryan.  Not as funny as a Shark Boy pin, but what-are-ya-gunna-do.  :)

Hero counts the lights for Abyss.  No surprise here.  Hero did take Abyss to 10 minutes though.  Nice.

Nice peak into the Turmoil match.  I worry that it is forshadowing for Conway & Dinsmore, what with the working of Dinsmore's knee.  Hopefully it won't haunt him at Glory.
