[GCW] Monday Night Explosion - 4/19/04

* * * * *

[Before Monday Night Explosion goes on the air, we start out in the offices of GCW President Ryan Niemiller. Niemiller is wearing a nice suit and is seated at his desk. He looks into the camera as he speaks.]

RN: Last week, our main event was scheduled to be Shawn Michaels, Eddie Guerrero, and Rob Van Dam vs. the Sensationals, Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho, and Randy Orton. However, before the match could officially be started, the Sensationals brutally attacked their opponents. Not only is an attack of that nature unacceptable, but the fans last week were cheated out of a terrific main event, and that is also unacceptable. Well, as President of Global Championship Wrestling, I plan to rectify this situation. This week, there will be a rematch. Shawn Michaels, Eddie Guerrero, and Rob Van Dam against the Sensationals. To ensure that there is not a repeat performance of last week's assault, I am declaring that whoever scores the winning fall for his team will be awarded with becoming entry number 30 in the Deadly Draw match for the World Heavyweight Title. In addition, the loser of the fall will be the number 1 entrant in the Deadly Draw match. And finally, if any member of either team resorts to any cheating tactics, such as using a foreign object or other means of an unfair advantage, they will automatically become entry number 1! Ladies and gentlemen, enjoy your evening.

[We cut to the opening for Monday Night Explosion.]

* * * * *

We are live in Detroit, Michigan to bring you another edition of Monday Night Explosion! We are only 6 days away from our first pay-per-view extravaganza, Deadly Draw! We have a stacked lineup tonight! In addition to the huge main event President Niemiller set before the show, we also have a finalists tag match as John Cena and The Amazing Red team up to take on Hardcore Holly and Low-Ki of Triple X. If that wasn't enough, we will see the crowning of our first Television champion as 16 men will enter into a battle royal. Last man standing becomes the champ! But we started off the evening with the World Tag Team champions in action.

Match #1
Non-Title Match
The World's Greatest Tag Team (c) vs. Billy Kidman/Paul London

You could tell right from the get-go that the champions, Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas, were underestimating their opponents. Benjamin started the match off, and to be honest, we was outwrestling Billy Kidman. Benjamin would get Kidman down in a hold, and start slapping him in the back of the head. All this managed to do was raise the ire of Kidman and Paul London, who fought back with all they had. You could see WGTT getting visibly upset because no matter what they did, no matter how much they double-teamed or cut corners, Kidman and London just would not stay down.

Kidman and London haven't been teaming up very long, but you wouldn't know that by watching them. Kidman and London have a wonderful understanding of each other, knowing where the other is at all times, and they used this cohesiveness to their advantage against the champs. This match was far more even than anyone in Detroit thought, and by the end, they were solidly behind the team of Billy Kidman and Paul London. At the end, Charlie Haas was groggy in the ring and Kidman and London were perched on opposite turnbuckles looking for a double dropkick. However, Shelton Benjamin was able to shove Kidman off, causing him to get crotched on the ropes. Benjamin hit a superkick to Kidman at that point, sending him over the top to the floor. London jumped off, but Haas caught him with a fist to the midsection, before bringing him down with a suplex. Haas quickly capitalized, locking on the Haas of Pain. London held on as long as he could, and despite the encourage from the packed house in the Motor City, eventually, London passed out, giving the hard fought victory to the champs.

The World's Greatest Tag Team (Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin) defeated Billy Kidman and Paul London when C. Haas defeated London when London passed out in the Haas Of Pain in 0:16:45.
Rating: *** 3/4

Despite coming out on the losing end, Billy Kidman and Paul London proved that they are for real and will be a team to contend with in GCW.

[We see the Basham Brothers along with their manager Shaniqua heading towards the ring for their match with Nick Dinsmore and Rob Conway. Before they reach the curtain, they are stopped by the World Tag Team champions, Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas, back from their win over Billy Kidman and Paul London.]

SB: Good luck out there, boys.

[Shaniqua gets in Benjamin's face.]

S: My boys don't need luck! They're going to go out there and kick some ass!

[Shaniqua cracks her riding crop against her leg.]

CH: Whoa... calm down there, sister. We don't want any trouble.

S: You sure? [Shaniqua runs her riding crop up and down Shelton Benjamin's chest.] This big hunk of man seems to want some... [Shaniqua slaps the riding crop on Benjamin's chest.] ...trouble.

[Benjamin slowly pushes Shaniqua away from him.]

SB: ...Right. Yo, listen up, guys. You guys could do us a big favor tonight and take Conway and Dinsmore out!

DoB: And why would we want to do that?

DaB: Yeah... what's in it for us?

CH: Well if you guys put a number on Conway and Dinsmore, I mean really take them out, soften them up a bit... there might be a World Tag Team Title shot in your future.

[The Basham Brothers both smile and rub their hands together.]

S: No problem. Conway and Dinsmore are as good as gone.

[The Bashams are led by Shaniqua to the ring as the World's Greatest Tag Team smile big.]

Match #2
Nick Dinsmore/Rob Conway vs. The Basham Brothers (w/ Shaniqua)

The Bashams, swayed with promise of a future World Tag Team Title shot, were flat out looking to hurt Rob Conway and Nick Dinsmore, plain and simple. Conway and Dinsmore manged to control the early portions of this match, using time tested tag team strategy to cut the ring in half and work over Doug Basham. Shaniqua saw her boys were in trouble, so she jumped up on the apron, which allowed for the Bashams to do the old double switch, seeing as how Doug and Danny look almost identical. Danny clubbed Dinsmore from behind and subsequently went to work. For the next few minutes, the Bashams went to work on Mr. Wrestling, trying to soften up his back. Dinsmore was on the receiving end of several slams and backbreakers which were obviously weakening him. Much to Dinsmore's credit, he wouldn't lie down. With each move by the Bashams and after each cheap shot by Shaniqua, the Brothers became more and more frustrated. This led to Doug Basham taking an unnecessary risk, heading to the top rope for a diving headbutt that Dinsmore narrowly escaped. Doug was able to crawl over and tag in his brother Danny, but Danny couldn't get into the ring fast enough to stop Dinsmore from tagging in Rob Conway, who came in like a house of fire! Conway started mowing down both of the Basham Brothers with clothesline and hard right hands before he dumped Doug to the floor. Conway gave Danny a hard boot to the midsection and set him up for the Iron Maiden (cross-armed reverse neckbreaker), but before he could execute it, Shaniqua ran in and blasted Conway in the face with what appeared to be a pipe! Referee Petey Pluck called for the bell instantaneously.

Rob Conway and Nick Dinsmore defeated The Basham Brothers (Doug Basham and Danny Basham) when R. Conway defeated Danny Basham by disqualification in 0:11:19.
Rating: *** 1/4

Nick Dinsmore jumped in the ring and grabbed the pipe away from Shaniqua. Dinsmore backed Shaniqua into a corner with the pipe, but he was nailed from behind by Doug Basham. Basham backed up a few steps before charging at Dinsmore, taking him down with his Basham Blaster flying bodyscissors takedown. Danny Basham then picked Dinsmore up and the Bashams dropped Dinsmore hard with a spiked piledriver. The Bashams may not have won the match, but with this beating they dished out, leaving Dinsmore clutching his back and Conway knocked unconscious, they may have earned that World Tag Team Title shot from the World's Greatest Tag Team.

[Mario Riviera is backstage with a microphone in hand. With him is "The Role Model" AJ Styles.]

MR: AJ Styles, over the past couple of weeks, you have for seemingly no reason attacked the Amazing Red, potentially severely damaging his left knee. The question is, what do you have against Red?

AJS: I don't have anything wrong with Red. It's the whole d**n system I have a problem with! Riviera, I am a world-class athlete. I have worked hard to become a highly skilled, highly trained professional wrestler. I haven't been busting my ass for years so that I can curtain jerk against a 100 pound punk like the "Amazing" Red. I came to Global Championship Wrestling because I have my sights set on being World Heavyweight champion, not so I can toil in the Cruiserweight division. Could I dominate the Cruiserweight division? Hell yes I could, no bones about it. But I am a role model. I have much higher sights, and those sights are to dominate the heavyweight division. And that starts tonight when AJ Styles wins the 16-man battle royal and becomes the first Television champion! Any more questions, Mario? Good.

[Styles stares Riviera down for a few seconds before he exits.]

Match #3
John Cena/The Amazing Red vs. Hardcore Holly/Low-Ki (w/ Daffney)

In six days, these four men will all be involved in title tournament finals, but tonight, they were involved in tag team competition as John Cena and Red teamed up to face Hardcore Holly and from Triple X Low-Ki, who had with him the ever interesting Daffney. This wasn't a bad match by any means, but it was a bit sloppy as as far as I know, none of these men has teamed up before, and thus the tag team continuity on both sides was lacking. The match was enjoyable though, as we did get a small preview of both the North American Title match and Cruiserweight Title match at Deadly Draw. Hardcore Holly is a no nonsense kind of guy, and it showed with the way he went after John Cena. Eventually, Cena and Holly spilled to the floor, both when neither were the legal man in the match, and brawled their way to the back. During the commotion of this, Low-Ki caught Red with a stiff kick to the tender left knee of the Amazing One, giving him enough time to punish Red with the Ki Krusher.

Hardcore Holly and Low-Ki defeated John Cena and Red when Low-Ki pinned Red with the Ki Crusher in 0:08:09.
Rating: ***

This is certainly not the way Red wanted to go into Deadly Draw. Low-Ki definitely has the advantage going into the big pay-per-view event. We learned that Hardcore Holly and John Cena were finally broken apart backstage, but it took most of the GCW Official Brigade to do it. If you're expecting to see a classic technical wrestling match at Deadly Draw from those two, you should probably look elsewhere. That's going to be a fight and everyone knows it.

[We are in the locker room of the Sensationals. We can see Kurt Angle, "Y2J" Chris Jericho, and Randy Orton in their wrestling gear in preparation for the huge main event tonight.]

KA: Tonight is going to be a great night, fellows. Last week, we softened Michaels, Guerrero, and Van Dam up. We most definitely showed the three I's last week. Intelligence in such a beautifully constructed plan. Intensity in carrying it out so thoroughly. Integrity because if there is any three lowlifes in wrestling that deserve to be taken out, it's those three! It's true!

RO: Not only that, not only did we get to show our superiority over them, but now President Niemiller has given us a chance to do it again. And boys, after I win the match for the Sensationals tonight and earn that 30th spot for Deadly Draw, you're going to be looking at new World Heavyweight champion Randy Orton!

CJ: Don't get too excited there, sparky. Now you're a terrific talent, Morton, but if anybody's going to be #30 at Deadly Draw, it's going to be the Paragon of Virtue, the King of the World, the Ayatollah of Rock 'n' Rollah! "Y2J" Chris Jericho...o...o...o............o.

KA: How do you plan on doing that, Chris? Is Justin Credible going to help you?

[Orton and Angle both laugh at Jericho, who isn't quite as amused.]

CJ: That guy just doesn't know how to take a hint. I've had psychotic girlfriends who were less obsessive than him. He is the epitome of assclown.

[At this point, "The Crippler" Chris Benoit pushes open the door, which draws a decent pop from the arena crowd. Benoit is in enemy territory, but he doesn't look intimidated at all. He is standing face-to-face with the Sensationals.]

KA: Can we help you, Benoit?

CB: I'm going to keep this short and sweet. You all want to cause trouble and wreak havoc on poor misguided souls like Justin Credible, that's fine. Your business is your business. But last week, your business became my business, and I don't take so kindly to that. So consider this your first, last, and only warning. Stay out of my affairs, or I will rip you all apart. Got it?

KA: Whoa... listen here, Buster Brown. You can't just walk into our locker room so boldly and get in our faces. Benoit, we have no beef with you, but I think you're the one who needs the warning. You don't mess with the Sensationals, and we won't mess with you. Now do you got it?

[Benoit doesn't say anything; he simply stares coldly into Angle's eyes.]

KA: I knew you were all talk, Benoit. It's true... it's d**n true.

CB: I'm all talk, Angle? If you think I'm all talk... prove me wrong.

[After another brief staredown, Benoit turns around and exits as the Sensationals all stand frozen and disgusted.]

Match #4
For the VACANT GCW Television Title
16-man Battle Royal
Entrants: Tommy Dreamer, Sean O'Haire, Shark Boy, Shannon Moore, Matt Hardy, The Hurricane, Rey Mysterio Jr., Teddy Hart, Justin Credible, AJ Styles, Perry Saturn, Lance Storm, Christopher Daniels, Elix Skipper, Chavo Guerrero Jr., Christopher Nowinski

Before tonight, we had yet to have a singles champion crowned in Global Championship Wrestling. Sixteen men all had their eye on becoming the first Television champion, but it wasn't going to be easy. To do so, they'd have to survive the other fifteen in this battle royal. Surprisingly, the man who dominated this match early was Shannon "All That And" Moore. Nobody was more surprised by this than the first man eliminated, Perry Saturn. Saturn was beating on Moore, but Moore caught him with a hard right hand. This normally wouldn't be enough to eliminate a man, but Moore got good leverage on Saturn, coupled with Saturn's hands slipping off the ropes, sending him to the floor. Not too long after that, Shark Boy would suffer a similar fate, being dumped by Shannon Moore. Shark Boy surprisingly got a nice ovation as he headed to the back.

In a match like this, you have to take some chances if you want to win. Sometimes they pay off, but sometimes they don't. Just ask Elix Skipper. Skipper went to the top-rope well too early in this match, leaping at Chavo Guerrero Jr. Chavo was ready for it though, and as Skipper landed, Chavo managed to reverse it into an inverted atomic drop. Skipper was stunned, allowing Chavo to grab him by the head and toss him over the top as the third man eliminated. Chavo wasn't done yet though, as he used a lot of good strategy in this match. A minute later, Chavo spotted on the other side of the ring Lance Storm trying to eliminate Matt Hardy. Chavo snuck up behind the man from Calgary, Alberta, Canada and threw him to the floor. Lance Storm slammed the ring apron in frustration, but he knew that Chavo got the better of him.

What hasn't been mentioned thus far is that this battle royal featured the debut of a new wrestler, the Harvard graduate Christopher Nowinski. Nowinski is a big guy, and he has a cocky attitude to match it. And in all fairness, Nowinski held his own tonight. However, despite his physical gifts, one thing you can't replace is experience, and his lack of experience caught up with him in this one. Nowinski is a big guy and doesn't head to the turnbuckles that often, but he tried to do so here, jumping up on he second turnbuckle. Teddy Hart used this window of opportunity to spring up on the ropes and send Nowinski crashing to the floor with a headscissors that got a good pop from the crowd.

At this point we were informed that there was a commotion of some sort in the locker room area. A camera cut to the back where we saw "The Crippler" Chris Benoit laid out unconscious, a steel chair lying next to him. Standing over him was Kurt Angle, who was screaming at Benoit, "I just proved you wrong, didn't I?!" The GCW Official Brigade ran in and broke up the scene, but the damage had been done. The Sensationals are quickly showing GCW that if you cross them, they are willing to do anything to save face.

Back in the ring, Sean O'Haire was on a tear. Being the biggest man in the match, O'Haire had a major size and leverage advantage over everyone else in the ring, and he used it to the fullest. The Hurricane, our beloved superhero, tried to choke slam the much bigger O'Haire, and O'Haire just laughed, grabbed Hurricane by the throat, and sent him flying over the top with a choke slam of his own! Chavo Guerrero Jr. saw O'Haire with his back turned and tried to do a repeat performance of his eliminating Lance Storm, but O'Haire saw him coming and sent Chavo crashing tot he floor as well.

The next few eliminations didn't happen with much fanfare. Just a case of guys being tired and getting tossed out when they couldn't hold on. Justin Credible, who looked very impressive in this match, got the best of Shannon Moore, and not too long afterwards, Tommy Dreamer got Teddy Hart. Up until now, AJ Styles had managed to lay low and stay out of harm's way. This would prove useful, as he had the most energy reserved at this stage of the match. This helped him reverse a Dreamer piledriver attempt with a backdrop that sent the Innovator of Violence out of the match. Subsequently on the other side of the ring, Sean O'Haire continued his dominance, absolutely plastering Matt Hardy Version 1.0 with a spinning heel kick that knocked Hardy over the top to the floor. At this point, it looked like nobody was going to be able to stop Sean O'Haire. As Matt Hardy started to make his way to the back, Teddy Hart ran back down to the ring and started unleashing a flurry of right hands on him, an obvious sign of retribution from Hardy assaulting Hart last week, taking him out of his scheduled match. The GCW Official Brigade quickly came out and put some distance between these two, but Teddy Hart is obviously not going to take being attacked and taken out passively.

We were down to the final five: Sean O'Haire, Justin Credible, Rey Mysterio Jr., AJ Styles, and Christopher Daniels. Five men, just one title. Last week on Explosion, Christopher Daniels had a hand in Mysterio losing a match to Low-Ki in the Cruiserweight Title Tournament semi-finals, but Mysterio was able to extract a measure of revenge on the leader of Triple X by eliminating him from the contest. He couldn't have done it a moment too soon either; if I had to hear Daffney screech one more time, I was going to go insane. Justin Credible went after Mysterio now as O'Haire systematically decimated AJ Styles. Mysterio had Credible reeling until Credible hit a desperation back kick south of the border on the masked superstar. Credible took some time to regain is bearings, but was able to get Mysterio in position for the That's Incredible. Unfortunately for credible, Mysterio had recovered enough to counter with a headscissors that sent Credible out of the ring and out of contention for the Television Title! After Mysterio recovered a little more, he ran at O'Haire, clipping his leg, causing him to choke himself over the second rope. Mysterio hit the opposite ropes and took O'Haire down with the 6-1-9 which got a thunderous ovation out of Detroit, Michigan. With O'Haire temporarily out of the mix, Mysterio went after a weakened Styles, jumping on him with the West Coast Pop, but Styles had wonderful ring awareness. Styles was able to block the move and ran to the ropes while holding Mysterio, dumping him over the ropes hard to the floor. Rey Mysterio Jr. had been eliminated.

That left just two men. Either AJ Styles or Sean O'Haire would walk away the first Television champion. As the two locked up, O'Haire immediately picked Styles up and tossed him across the ring with a mammoth hiptoss. O'Haire went on the offensive, slamming the Role Model into the turnbuckle before driving the shoulder into Styles' midsection a few times. O'Haire whipped Styles across the ring into the opposite corner and followed him in with a clothesline. Styles stumbled out of the corner as O'Haire went for a spinning heel kick, similiar to how he eliminated Matt Hardy earlier. Styles had the presence of mind to duck though, causing O'Haire to crotch himself on the top turnbuckle. Styles got a running start and with his last bit of energy, nailed the off-balance Sean O'Haire with a forearm smash, which was just enough for O'Haire to not be able to stop himself. Just like that, AJ Styles was the new Television champion!

(AJ Styles won the GCW Television Title.)

The crowd booed as an elated but tired Styles was handed the Television Title. You don't have to like the guy, but he is the real deal in the ring, and this Television Title reign could be his chance to prove it to the world.

[Backstage, where Mario Riviera stands with the man who debuted last week by saving Tommy Dreamer and attacking Brock Lesnar, Goldust.]

MR: Goldust, last week you shocked a lot of people by coming to Global Championship Wrestling and attacking Brock Lesnar. Everyone wants to know, why are you here?

G: Mario, I'm here for one simple reason and one simple reason only... revenge. You see, Brock Lesnar made a big mistake when he put my bestest friend in the whole wide world, Booker T, out of action. Booker's left knee is lucky to still be alive! Booker will be out for another few weeks. [Goldust grabs Riviera by the shirt.] A moment of silence please, Mario!

[Goldust closes his eyes, doing his best to fight back tears.]

MR: Um... Gold...

G: I said a moment of silence please, Mario.

[After a long awkward pause, Goldust finally opens his eyes.]

G: One thing is for sure though. When you mess with my best buddy Booker T, you mess with the Golden One. And when you mess with the Golden One, things are more than likely going to get HOT in HERRE. [Goldust does some awkward gangster-like moves which elicits a few laughs from he crowd.] So here's the skinny, daddio. Brock Lesnar, you hurt Booker T, I hurt you. I want you............. [By this point in the pause, Riviera looks quite nervous] ...in a match, in a match. Relax, Mario. You're so STIFF. Deadly Draw, Brock. I will get revenge for Booker T, and I assure you that you will never forget the name of... [Deep inhale while fondling himself] GOLDUST.

[Goldust bites at Mario Riviera before triumphantly exiting. Riviera stands there not exactly sure what happened.]

Match #5
MAIN EVENT
Winner of fall gets #30 at Deadly Draw, Loser of fall gets #1
The Sensationals (Kurt Angle/"Y2J" Chris Jericho/Randy Orton) vs. "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels/"The Whole F'n Show" Rob Van Dam/"Latino Heat Eddie Guerrero

This match had huge ramifications for this Sunday's pay-per-view, Deadly Draw, as somebody was going to put themselves into prime position to walk out of Chicago, Illinois as the first World Heavyweight champion, if they could win that dream draw of #30 here tonight. However, on the same token, someone was going to be the goat in this one, becoming the #1 entrant in the Deadly Draw if they lose the fall tonight. You could tell in the early stages of this match that Shawn Michaels was not at 100%, heavily favoring his back after being put through the table by the Sensationals last week. Michaels stayed out of the match for much of the early minutes, allowing Eddie Guerrero and Rob Van Dam to carry most of the workload.

This match was what a television main event should be. Fast-paced, well-wrestled, and full of excitement. The crowd was into this match throughout the 20 plus minutes, but the man who truly shined was Eddie Guerrero. Guerrero is a veteran of this sport, and he has certainly fine tuned his craft. Guerrero has developed the uncanny knack to have the crowd in the palm of his hand. They simply ate up everything this man did. In addition to Guerrero's performance, what was surprising about this match was how clean it was. All six men actually took to heart GCW President Ryan Niemiller's warning that if anyone tried anything funny, they would automatically be made entry #1, so this match was wrestled very straightforward.

Another interesting aspect of this match is that over the past couple weeks, Rob Van Dam and Randy Orton have really torn into each other, almost under the radar of the Angle/HBK/Jericho/Guerrero situation. That became quite evident in the latter stages of this match. Shawn Michaels and Kurt Angle were in the ring, and HBK had just hit the Olympic champion with a big flying elbowdrop. As the Heartbreak Kid went for the cover, Randy Orton jumped in and broke it up. Orton wasn't too anxious to leave the ring after this, so RVD jumped in and took him down with a spin kick. From there, the fight was on. Just like last week, these two spilled to the outside where RVD tossed Orton over the guardrail and into the crowd. RVD followed Orton and the two fought their way through the crowd. While referee Jimmy Appleseed was on the floor trying to sort that situation out, "THE CRIPPLER" CHRIS BENOIT ran down to the ring, equipped with a bandage on his head. Benoit jumped into the ring, slid behind Kurt Angle, and dropped him with the triple German suplexes! The crowd popped huge for Benoit who exited just as quickly as he entered. Angle stumbled to his feet only to be caught under the chin by Shawn Michaels' Sweet Chin Music. Angle was down for the count, 1-2-3.

[Winner of fall gets #30, loser of fall gets #1]:
Eddie Guerrero, Rob Van Dam and Shawn Michaels defeated The Sensationals (Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle and Randy Orton) when S. Michaels pinned K. Angle with the Sweet Chin Music in 0:21:46.
Rating: *** 1/4

Thanks to an assist from Chris Benoit, Shawn Michaels now has the best shot at Deadly Draw and becoming the World Heavyweight champion as with this win, he is the 30th man who will enter the Deadly Draw match. The show came to an end with Shawn Michaels and Eddie Guerrero, the two remaining men of their team still at ringside, celebrating the victory while Kurt Angle and Chris Jericho headed up the aisle to the locker rooms.

With that, we now have the final card set for Deadly Draw, which takes place this Sunday night, April 25th live from Chicago, Illinois! This is what the current card looks like:

For the VACANT World Heavyweight Title - 30-man Deadly Draw Match - Kurt Angle is #1, Shawn Michaels is #30
For the VACANT North American Title - John Cena vs. Hardcore Holly
For the VACANT Cruiserweight Title - The Amazing Red vs. Low-Ki
World Tag Team Title Match - The World's Greatest Tag Team (c) vs. Nick Dinsmore/Rob Conway
Brock Lesnar vs. Goldust
And in a match just added, Matt Hardy Version 1.0 vs. Teddy Hart

Be sure to join us for this big event, as you're not going to want to miss it!
LillaThrillaPosted on 05/05/04 at 04:37:30

Ouch - Angle is going in first!

Golddust's character is amusing.
DarkAndEvilBastardPosted on 05/09/04 at 03:13:41

I was gonna say the same thing in regards to Goldust.  Too bad poor Brock killed him dead.
