DarkAndEvilBastardPosted on 05/06/04 at 02:21:25

(Video package shows Sting taking a bat shot from Hogan and the beating
Hennig & Hogan laid on him at the end of Thunder; The
KISS-Mamalukes/Disco/Smiley brawls & KISS breaking Vito's arm; Crowbar &
David Flair getting into it and Daffney getting hurt; Great Muta returning
to WCW; Psicosis pinning Lyger and Juvy getting injured; Booker making the
4-Way Dance challenge for Spring Stampede; Dustin Rhodes beating Steiner
bloody and DDP getting attacked by Luger after laying out Goldberg.)

We are LIVE inside the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado!

A familiar howl heralds the arrival of The Outsiders, and Hall & Nash head
to the ring!  They think it's bogus to wait *all* week long for the tag
match with Hart & Jarrett, and so they call 'em to the ring!  Bret Hart and
Jeff Jarrett take off to the ring and the crowd erupts as Hart starts
hammering Nash while Jarrett and Hall trade blows!  Jarrett sends Hall to
the floor and Jeff snatches the guitar!  Nash attempts to Jackknife Bret,
but he hits a low blow and locks the Sharpshooter on!  Nash manages to push
out of it, but Bret grabs him as he starts to get up!  Bret goes for the
Russian Legsweep, but Jarrett swings the guitar and Nash ducks
down...'causing Jarrett to shatter it over Hart's head!  Scott Hall rolls in
the ring and covers Hart while Nash tackles Jarrett and The Outsiders get an
impromptu pinfall!  Hall & Nash take off to the back, arms raised, while
Jarrett checks on Hart.

Tony Schiavone & Mark Madden speculate on Jarrett's allegiances and comment
on how most of the company seems to be at odds!  They bring up two title
matches on the show as Lyger defends the Cruiserweight Title and Vampiro
defends the TV Title!  They comment on the injuries sustained to Juventud
Guerrera, Big Vito and Ric Flair this past Wednesday.

Match #1
Johnny the Bull w/Disco Inferno vs Starbearer

Nice little match, even if no one cared.  Great counter wrestling as
Starbearer walked him through it, and Johnny actually seemed to rely less on
power and more on actual wrestling.  A good set of power moves snuck in,
though, and Johnny kept Starbearer on the ropes, allowing him to hit a
powerslam for the upset!

Johnny The Bull pinned Starbearer after a powerslam in 0:08:11.

Smiley came out with Symphony for his bout against Nile, but Nile never came
to the ring!  It was instead Too Cold Scorpio who came out!  He got on the
mic and said that Nile was jetsetting and didn't have time to mess with a
low-class chump like Norman Smiley.  He said that, as Nile's good friend and
partner, he would be more than happy to substitute for him.

Match #2
Norman Smiley w/Symphony vs Too Cold Scorpio

Smiley and Scorpio had a nice exchange until Scorpio sent Smiley to the
floor, but missed a somersault on top of him.  The KISS Army came down to
ringside, though, and Scorpio took advantage of the distraction to lay some
sharp kicks into Smiley's midsection.  Another spill to the floor gave
Smiley a chance to snatch a piece of wood and use it on Scorpio!  A cheap
shot from Celestial gave Scorpio a chance to pull him in, and hit a
fisherman suplex for the win!

Too Cold Scorpio pinned Norman Smiley after a fisherman suplex in 0:07:13.
Rating: * 3/4

Match #3
Sabu vs Shane Helms
Mostly a high-flying spotfest, as could be inspected, in which Shane and
Sabu both spent a lot of time in the air.  Sabu whacked Shane with a crutch,
and used a chair in several spots to soften Shane up.  Shane used a flying
bulldog in one of his rare moments in control, but Sabu used a piledriver on
Helms outside the ring, and banged him around the guardrails, ringposts and
steel steps.  Shane complained about a fast count, but Sabu secured the win
nonetheless with the Triple Jump Moonsault.

Sabu pinned Shane Helms with the Triple Jump Moonsault in 0:09:25.

Backstage, we see Kevin Nash's dressing room door, and it opens!  Jeff
Jarrett comes walking out laughing, and he looks behind him before walking
down the hall and bumping straight into Bret Hart!  He immediately looks
apologetic, but Bret doesn't seem to buying it as he swears he can explain.
Hart finally just decks him!  The cameras follow Hart to his dressing room
as he rounds up his bags and takes off out of the building!

Match #4
King of Beasts & The Demon vs Team 2000

A pretty even tag match, in which Super J and Chono overcame the power of
the KISS Army.  Super J used his "nWo Sting offense", including the inverted
DDT on Demon.  Chono hit several Yakuza Kicks and wore Demon down with the
STF, but King of Beasts kept interfering.  Super J finally intercepted King
of Beasts and Demon submitted, giving Team 22000 one more win.

Team 2000 defeated KISS Army (King of Beasts and The Demon) when Chono made
Demon submit to the STF in 0:13:33.
Rating: ** 1/4

Match #5
The Great Muta vs David Flair

Squash.  But not how you would expect.

The Great Muta pinned David Flair with the Moonsault in 0:05:48.
Rating: *

The Wall comes down to the ring as Muta departs, and he slaps his hand on
Flair's throat!  Crowbar comes down as Wall lifts Flair for a chokeslam, and
he hammers The Wall from behind with the lead pipe!  The Wall looks hurt,
but he manages to shove Crowbar away and bail out!  Crowbar helps Flair up,
and Flair hugs him!  Crowbar gets on the mic and tells Wall that this is the
final straw and at Spring Stampede, it's time they finish it once and for
all!!

The Horsemen take the ring and, like on Thunder, Luger and Liz are trailing
behind the rest.  AA says that tonight, Bill Goldberg and Lex Luger have
Horsemen business to take care of against Steiner and Sid.  He says that
there have been a lot of crazy rumors about dissension in the Horsemen, but
they're just that: rumors.  Arn says that a Horsemen unit at 50% capacity is
better than a whole Army fresh and ready to fight!

Ric Flair says that Steiner must feel pretty cocky, but he's on borrowed
time now!  Flair says that he is "Space Mountain, WHOOO...but Steiner's just
the Tea Cup ride!"

Dustin Rhodes tells Scott Steiner to show up at Spring Stampede on Sunday
and he'll get an ass-kicking like he got on Thunder.  Rhodes calls Steiner a
an overdone freak and that if Luger or Goldberg felt like they didn't want
to wrestle then he would be happy to kick Steiner around the ring for a
while.

Goldberg says that will get the Jackhammer tonight and that Scott Steiner's
gonna learn that there's no joy in being "next".

Luger and Liz leave the ring, and after some confusion, the segment abruptly
ends.

Match #6
Crowbar vs Billy Kidman w/Torrie Wilson

Fast paced matchup saw Crowbar seem unhindered by his recent beatings at the
hands of The Wall, and in fact, seemed rejuvenated by his reunion with David
Flair.  Kidman stayed in control, using interference from Torrie to
counteract Crowbar's offense.  Kidman stayed out of the clutches of the
Inverted DDT and hit the Shooting Star Press, but Crowbar was able to kick
out.  A second attempt later saw Crowbar get in the ropes.  Crowbar actually
decided at one point to whack Kidman with the lead pipe, but Torrie kept him
from getting the pin.  Finally, Crowbar walked into a spinebuster bomb and
Kidman hit the Shooting Star Press to secure a win going into Spring
Stampede.

Billy Kidman pinned Crowbar with the Shooting Star Press in 0:13:30.
Rating: ***

The Wall makes his way down, and he catches Crowbar with a huge boot to the
head!  A big Chokeslam follows, but David Flair hits the ring with his
crowbar!  Unfortunately, he runs right into The Wall's hand, and gets
chokeslammed!  The Wall stands triumphant over both men!

Match #7: #1 Contenders Match
Rey Misterio Jr. vs Psicosis

Simply suicidal action once more.  Rey and Psicosis busted two chairs using
them for moonsaults and bodyslams and the like, and they smashed themselves
all over the floor.  Psicosis caught Rey in a frankensteiner attempt and
powerbombed him, but Rey was resilient.  Rey used springboard maneuvers and
Psicosis took it to the floor often, putting Misterio into the guardrails on
more than one occasion.  Finally, at the end, the it was one such journey to
the floor that allowed Rey to put Psicosis into the ring steps and he hit a
bridging back suplex...but both men's shoulders were on the mat, and it was
declared a double pin!

Rey Misterio Jr. and Psicosis battled to a double pin in 0:10:12.

Sting &Vampiro make their way out, and Sting howls out to the crowd.  He
says that Hogan keeps trying to bash his head in, but he's just too
thick-headed to go down!  He says that he will still be ready, willing and
able to go on Sunday, when Hogan interrupts and asks him if he'll be ready
to go on Wednesday!  Sting asks him what his game is, and Hogan laughs,
saying he's got a special surprise for Sting this Wednesday on Thunder, if
Sting thinks he can wrestle a match.  Sting says he can handle anything
Hogan throws at him, but Hogan seems pretty sure that he has Sting's number!
Hogan mockingly hints that Sting knows Hogan's surprise "very well".

Match #8: WCW Cruiserweight Title Match
Jyushin Lyger vs The Celestial

Lyger's first offensive move, and the first successful move of the match was
a superplex, and that set a bar for the whole thing.  Celestial nearly
knocked himself out with a slingshot somersault plancha, and Lyger used
super belly-to-belly suplexes and tiger suplexes.  A power bomb attempt saw
Celestial hit a rana, and he unloaded with a series of kicks on Lyger.
Jyushin ran in with a koppo kick to set up the Running Lyger Bomb, but
Celestial got his shoulder up.  One cool spot saw Lyger irish whip
Celestial, but he sprang off the ropes with an Asai, but Lyger blasted him
out of the air with a roundhouse kick.  Countless nearfalls from
Frankensteiners, powerbombs and superplexes had the crowd on their seat, and
both men were being cheered heavily for their performance.  A second Running
Lyger Bomb saw Celestial in the ropes, and a third failed to pin him when he
barely got a shoulder up.  Celestial his his Judgment Day finisher, but
Lyger kicked out as well.  Lyger had tossed Celestial to the floor and flew
onto him with a baseball slide, and they started fighting outside, when the
bell rang signifying the end of the match!  Lyger and Celestial exchanged
looks of respect and walked away, without a clear winner.

Jyushin Lyger and The Celestial battled to a draw in 0:20:00.
Rating: **** 1/4
(Jyushin Lyger retained the WCW Cruiserweight Title.)

Backstage, we see Buff hitting on Tammy Lynn Sytch.  She looks like she's
maybe kind of interested, but before anything can come of it, Kidman leaps
off of a stairway on top of Buff!!  He starts hammering him and Chris
Candido walks out into the hall to see what's going on...and he starts
putting the boots to Buff, too!  Booker happens by and he pulls Candido off,
and rams him into a soda machine!  He starts whaling away at Kidman, but
Buff smashes his leg out from under him!  Buff kicks Booker in the ribs,
then starts hammering on Kidman!  Candido actually comes over to help and
the two of them lock Kidman in a broom closet!  Booker hits a Harlem
Sidekick as Candido turns around, but Buff tackles him and they brawl into
the catering area, where they fall over a table and start brawling until
security finally breaks it up.

Match #9: WCW TV Title Match
Vampiro vs The Wall

Crowbar came right to the ring, and Vamp & Wall started to brawl.  Outside
the ring they went, with neither man really getting an upperhand.  Curt
Hennig came down to the ring as well, but his presence only seemed to push
Vampiro on into a brutal martial arts offense against The Wall.  Curt Hennig
hit Vampiro with a chair and allowed The Wall to go for a Choke Slam, but
when Mickey Jay tried to run Hennig away, Crowbar slid in and racked The
Wall with the lead pipe, allowing Vampiro to hit the Vampiro Spike!

Vampiro pinned The Wall with the Vampiro Spike in 0:07:25.
Rating: -** 1/2
(Vampiro retained the WCW Television Title.)

Backstage, DDP and Bam Bam Bigelow attack Flair as he heads to his
limousine,
and starts slamming him into the hood!  Arn Anderson nails Bam Bam in the
knee from behind with a tire iron, and drags him over the  car door.
Setting his hand in the door, Arn slams it, crushing his paw!  Dustin Rhodes
comes out of nowhere with the cowbell, slamming Page in the back with it!
He drags Dallas up on top of the limo and piledrives him down!  They dump
Page and Bigelow out in the parking lot and Flair & AA climb in the limo to
take off.

Match #10
Scott Steiner & Sid Vicious vs Bill Goldberg & Lex Luger w/Liz

Luger and Sid started off, and after a small exchange Steiner tagged in.
Lex overpowered Scotty and outdid him in the cheap tricks area, before
tagging in Goldberg who quickly fell victim to Scott!  Goldberg got the
upperhand with a face rake, but a tag to Sid led to Goldberg being
double-teamed.  Sid beat Goldberg down, and when Luger tagged in, Sid beat
him down too!  Luger got the upperhand on a sojourn to the floor, but back
in the ring it was all Sid.  Vicious choke slammed Luger and tagged Steiner,
but Luger bailed out and Goldberg attacked Steiner.  Goldberg hammered on
Scott and hit the spear, but Steiner countered the Jackhammer!  Luger, at
this point, stepped off the apron and walked away.  Goldberg futiley Sid and
Steiner, but he found himself on the receiving end of a big Power Bomb, and
he was pinned by Sid!

Scott Steiner and Sid Vicious defeated
The Four Horsemen (Bill Goldberg and Lex Luger) when Vicious pinned Goldberg
with the Power Bomb in 0:12:19.
Rating: -* 1/2

Dustin Rhodes slid in the ring and attacked Steiner, but he got dispatched
by Vicious as well, and got powerbombed as Nitro went off the air.
