Not really much to say about this card.  Everything went pretty well, and I'm too tired to go into more detail at the moment.  So... like... enjoy.

Rating: **** 1/4

Frankie Kazarian's potential new partner is... "The One Man Mafia" Mikal Adrian!  With a near 300 pounder on his side, one would think that Kazarian would be able to do well against a team ranked as low as Lance Storm and Kid Kash.  One would think wrong, apparently, as Adrian proved that while he is a fine power based wrestler, one thing he IS NOT is a proficient tag team worker.  Kazarian was isolated through most of the middle of the match, Adrian tagged in and cleaned house, then tagged back out to a still battered Kazarian, who was quickly trapped in the Straightshooter and forced to tap out!  It seems unlikely that Frankie Kazarian will be interested in teaming with Mikal Adrian again any time soon.

Don Juan returned to the ring with fire in his eyes and the crowd squarely behind him.  Against him: "The Monster" Edward Chastain.  From the start, Don Juan tore into Chastain with a furor we haven't seen in quite some time, brawling around the ring and taking him down time after time.  When it came time to finish the job, however, Don Juan proved unable to get the big 500 pounder in position for the Cradle Piledriver, and as a result Chastain was able to power his way back into the match.  Neither man was willing to stay down, however, and they fought all the way to the final bell.  The referee decided to grant them a five minute extention, but Don Juan only needed a fraction of it, scoring with the Northern Lights suplex he's used a number of times to win important matches!  What a return for Don Juan!

(Arn Anderson retained the New York State Heavyweight Title.)

Chris Sabin was granted a shot at Arn Anderson's New York State Heavyweight Title after he impressively put the final nail in the coffin of New Europe in the main event of Showdown in Buffalo.  Coming in to this match, however, he was obviously feeling overconfident.  Being the true veteran he is, Arn Anderson used that to his advantage, allowing Sabin to reverse a few simple holds to lull him into a false sense of security, then scoring with a quick Spinebuster out of nowhere that sent Sabin quickly rolling out of the ring, clutching his back.  Sabin fell for this twice before he could finally begin to turn things around with a stiff Future Shock, but it wasn't nearly enough, and after one final Spinebuster, Anderson tossed him out of the ring where he was counted out.

(MsChif is walking through the backstage area as if she owned the place,
scowling as if each person she met was responsible for her losing her spot in
LIW rather than her costing herself the spot.  As she turns a corner, Senior
Referee Ted Blandford is waiting for her.)

Ted Blandford: Ah!  MsChif!  I was looking for you.  You're familiar with the
stipulations of the match, correct?  If you can earn a victory here tonight,
you will be allowed to return to your managerial duties here in Long Island
Wrestling.  If you lose-

MsChif: Look.  I'm not going to lose!  I may work here as a manager, but I
assure you that I have kicked more asses than anyone else in the country!  I am
the best woman wrestler in history!  Just like I am the best manager in
history!  Tonight, I will BREAK whatever slut you found to stand in my way!  I
will not be denied!

Ted Blandford: That remains to be seen.  MsChif, I'd like to introduce you to
your opponent...

(MsChif turns and walks away.)

MsChif: I'll meet her in the ring.  Send her out as soon as she's ready to get
her skanky ass owned.

(A door behind Ted Blandford opens, and AJA KONG - regarded by many as the
Vader of Japanese Women's Wrestling - emerges.  The 240 pound beast stares off
after MsChif, then smiles.)

Aja Kong: This... will be fun.

(Aja Kong no-showed.)

What the he-  Where is Aja Kong?  LIW spent a LOT of money to fly her in here to tear MsChif apart, and...  Oh no...  We're getting word that she's been attacked backstage and...  Oh geez...  ERIK WATTS is making his way to the ring in a dress!  Honestly!  What the hell!?!  And... Erik Watts lays down for her?  Gah!  What the hell is going on?

MsChif grabs a microphone and screams at the crowd as they boo wildly.

"I'd like to introduce my newest client!  Erik Watts!  Watts gets absolutely none of the respect he deserves in this industry!  He's a former New York State Heavyweight Champion, dammit!  But he doesn't even warrent a booking for tonight?  Well...  you may not want to see him, but *I* do!  I made him an offer he couldn't refuse!  Take out my opponent backstage then lay down for me, and I *WILL* bring him back to the top of the world of professional wrestling!  It's only a matter of time!  Erik Watts *WILL* be the future, whether any of you like it or not!"

[Ron Harris interfered against Simon Diamond.]

What the... why is Ron Harris here?  Apparently he wants a bit of a warm up for his match against Jonny Storm later tonight, because he easily pulls Simon Diamond out of the ring and lays him out with a HUGE Cobra Clutch Slam!  Cold Ron be trying to act to ensure that The Harris Twins get the next shot at the New York State Tag Team Titles instead of the International Thug Syndicate?  Maybe so.  One thing is certain, however: Simon Diamond looks pissed off.

Rating: *** 1/2

It's Frank Shamrock!  Randy Orton has SOMEHOW convinced the leader of the Usurpers to side with him against Cactus Jack and Kevin Nash!  This seems to have been an excellent choice, as Shamrock was easily able to take both of his opponents down and begin to tear them apart with submissions.  Randy Orton is an immense glory hog, however, and as soon as Shamrock began to get some momentum going, he tagged himself in and tried to take over the match.  Cactus Jack fired back with a series of forearm smashes that had him on the ropes, and one Double Arm DDT later and Orton was done!

Nash and Cactus Jack head off once again to celebrate, leaving a stunned and frustrated Randy Orton to slowly get to his feet.  Orton stares down the relatively fresh Frank Shamrock... who simply shakes his head, saying that if he tries ANYTHING, he's a dead man.  Like any bully, Orton quickly backs down.

This match was sanctioned by DCW and featured Paul London defending the DCW Lightweight Title against none other than Ernest "The Cat" Miller.  As usual, the fans were solidly against Miller and totally behind London, and despite Miller's mediocre skills London pulled him to a very solid match, retaining his title in the process, much to the relief of fans everywhere who might just have committed seppuku if Ernest Miller won a major title.

Simon Diamond: You attacked me during my match against Edge!  I was going to
end my losing streak cleanly, and you not only ruined it, you laid me out!

Don Harris: Uh... I think you guys are talking about Ron.  Because I've been
back here all night.  Sorry.

Justin Credible: That excuse isn't just the greatest, it isn't just the best,
it's Just Incredible!

Ricky Reyes: Um...

Justin Credible: Oh wait!  No it isn't!

Don Harris: Is there a point to all of this?

Simon Diamond: The point is... You are going down!  The Syndicate will crush
you, Ron!

Don Harris: I'm Don.

Simon Diamond: Whatever!  Reyes!  You're up next!  Take chrome dome here to the
cleaners!

Reyes is known as one of the Havana Pitbulls for a reason.  From the start of the match he charged the much larger Don Harris, and through the use of stiff kicks and submission holds he was able to keep Harris on the ropes.  Harris was quite simply too big for Reyes to hit the Avalanche Brain Buster on, but Reyes is a good enough submissions wrestler that he eventually forced Harris to tap out to an ankle lock.

Rating: *** 1/4

Snuka and Son suffered their first defeat here tonight against the new pairing of Sean Waltman and El Mephisto at the end of a hardfought battle.  Solo Snuka seemed to be the odd man out here, as everyone else in the match was far more experienced than he was, and this unfortunately allowed him to be isolated by El Mephisto and Sean Waltman, who worked together as if they had been tagging for years.  In the end, Mephisto's simple but effective Forward Rolling Prawn Hold proved to be enough to end the match.

Submission Match:
Chris Jericho made Scott Steiner submit to the Walls Of Jericho in 0:18:25.
Rating: *** 1/4

Chris Jericho and Scott Steiner both rely heavily on submission moves to make their offense count - in Steiner's case, it is through the application of brute force to destroy his foe's body.  For Chris Jericho, it is a more precise and focused attack on one part of his foe's body, generally the back and legs.  In this match, Jericho proved that precision wins out over brute force - at least today.  A convincing submission victory by Y2J over Scott Steiner definately helps to improve Jericho's standings, especially since Steiner just bested New York State Heavyweight Champion Arn Anderson at Showdown in Buffalo!

("Let's Dance" by Five hits, and Jonny Storm walks purposefully to the ring
with a microphone.  Instead of posing cockily in each of the four corners, he
simply waits for silence, then speaks.)

Jonny Storm: When I first came here to LIW, I came here with a plan.  I came
here with a dream.  In this dream, I would make a name for myself by destroying
Cactus Jack: something I have consistently done.  I would bring together
Europe's best and brightest along with the talent that will fill that role in
the future.  I did just that.  My group would be all but unstoppable as we
siezed the New York State Heavyweight Title.  And truly, nobody could stand
before the might that was New Europe!

(Jonny Storm becomes quiet for several seconds, then continues.)

Jonny Storm: Then something went wrong.  Things began to fall apart.  Alex
Wright was almost destroyed by Ron Harris.  I was defeated by a... by a CRIPPLE
in The Battle of Long Island.  Our plan to take the title to Europe fell apart,
and Wright was forced out of Long Island Wrestling!  I tried to muster the
strength of New Europe back to its previous level, I truly did... but my allies
were incompetent.  And ultimately New Europe fell.  It died.  When it did, my
hopes and dreams for the future died with it...  Or did they?  Growth requires
pain!  New Europe has fallen away, but The British Sensation remains!  I can
still Redeem the Dream!  And tonight I start things off... by destroying the
man who started New Europe's decline.  Ron Harris.  Violent R, nobody can stand
in my way!  I am a man with a mission, and I will stop at nothing to Redeem the
Dream!  So beware, Ron!  Because I will correct the failings of the past... and
you are just the beginning!

What a brutal battle!  Ron Harris and Jonny Storm almost immediately brawled to the outside, with Storm seemingly abandoning his usual high speed offense in favor of simply pounding away at his much larger foe.  Had it not been for the unexpected ferocity of the attack, Ron Harris would have had an easy time of things.  As it was, it took quite a few minutes of brawling around the ring with several close calls by both men before Storm settled down and played to his strengths.  After hitting a Super Rewind Huracanrana, Storm rolled Harris out of the ring and set him up on a table.  Ascending to the top turnbuckle, Storm sailed across the ring area and sent Harris through the table with a brutal Flying Senton!  Jonny Storm seems to have a new attitude here, and we'd be lying if we said it didn't worry us just a little.

Match of the Evening: Lance Storm & Kid Kash vs. Frankie Kazarian & Mikal Adrian

Nothing much have happened on this board in a couple of days.. and then all of a sudden both Hard Knox and LIW comes out? Awesome..

I'm not too familiar with Adryan.. neither is Kazarian, or so it seems. Nice to see Kash and Storm pull of a victory for once.

Wow.. Don Juan suplexed Chastain? Isn't Don Juan kinda small compared to Chastain? This must have been some feat of strength.

It seems that Double A can stay on top even against the 'Future'. As I never was to keen on Alex Wright's reign, here's to a long and glorious reign for Flair's right-hand man.

You brought in Aja Kong? Man.. when I ran a Women's fed a couple of years back, she was the stable leader for a group of Japanese women, and was pretty unstoppable. She even almost beat Ron Simmons. MsChif will probably be crushed.

What?? Watts in a dress?? Screwjob! Where is the show held at? This warrants a new bleak chapter in the history of wrestling. Did you book this match? Or did MsChif actually win? Watts not respected? Who would respect a man wearing a dress..

London carrying Miller to a 4-star match? Just shows how great London is. I still don't like Miller though, and would have preferred to have him squashed in under a minute as he usually is in another circuit here.

Glad to see Y2J pick up the win against Freakzilla... Jericho must be ripe for a title shot soon.. he can't be overlooked..

The Harris twins didn't succed tonight.. I wonder if it really was Don backstage.. who can really know such things?

LIW Newsline - 5/28/06

The Day After is on the books, and people are already buzzing about what a stacked show it was.  After holding a pair of interpromotional shows with HKW, business has really picked up for both promotions as curious fans check out the competition while still watching their old favorites.  At the moment, we are less than a week from our next show which will be held on June 3 2006, and we have a major announcement about it!

Our next show is scheduled to be the largest in LIW history, but that is only fitting, as it will be hosted by the largest city in the country, New York City!  It's taken a year and a half for LIW to grow large enough to afford a show in the city, but we promise you won't be dissappointed by our first attempt!  Big Apple Brawl, as the show is now being called, will be held in the Mariott Ballroom in Brooklyn, and will feature virtually the entire LIW roster in action!  Whether you're a casual fan or a diehard fanatic, you won't want to miss this marathon mat masterpiece!

Long Island Wrestling came out looking very strong after our second interpromotional card against the School of Hard Knox.  Although both HKW and LIW won four matches, some of the most dramatic moments of the night occurred as a result of LIW's wins.  Jonny Storm snapped on his former friend and ally Alex Wright after destroying Zach Gowen, Frank Shamrock made Chuck Palumbo tap out with ease, and Don Harris sent a HUGE FU to HKW by laying down for his twin brother Ron as his final act under a HKW contract.  But even more remarkable, Randy Orton defeated Muhammed Hassan to become HKW's HEAD OF THE CLASS.  Orton is extremely proud of this accomplishment, but has made it clear that it was a personal victory rather than one done for LIW.  Orton's ego is more out of control than ever before!

Arn Anderson will be defending the New York State Heavyweight Title against Top Contender Too Cold Scorpio at Big Apple Brawl, and that can mean only one thing: it's time for a match to crown a new Top Contender!  Four deserving athletes will face off against each other in a Four Corners Match to determine who will hold this honor, and the winner will face the champion (whether it be Double A or Scorpio) soon.  The four contenders in this match will be Scott Steiner, who defeated Anderson in a non-title match last month; Ron Harris, who has consistently stood near the top of the card as one of LIW's best big men; Kevin Nash, who was one of the most successful professional wrestlers of the 1990s and a former world champion; and Frankie Kazarian, who caught the eye of the booking committee with his excellent tag team work alongside his retired partner Michael Shane.  Can Kazarian defy the odds, or are three giants too much for any man to overcome?  Find out on June 3!

The New York State Tag Team Titles will be on the line in Brooklyn.  The almost unstoppable team of Dangan will be facing Edge and Vampiro, who were selected as compromise top contenders after the booking committee went to a tie between The Harris Twins and the International Thug Syndicate.  While Edge and Vampiro don't have the record of either group, they do have an... interesting... dynamic, and are both very skilled wrestlers.  Can they scale the mountain and defeat the most dangerous thing to come out of Japan since Godzilla?  Or will Dangan be able to crush them as easily as they have crushed the rest of their competition?

Solo Snuka is reportedly dissappointed at suffering a tag team defeat at the hands of El Mephisto and Sean Waltman, but at the urging of his uncle he has decided to request a singles match.  This match has been accepted by none other than Lance Storm.  Storm and Snuka actually wrestle fairly similar styles, mixing a bit of high flying in with competent ground work.  In Storm's case, this ground work is mainly technical, while for Snuka it is mostly power based.  This should be an interesting match because of this similarity, and since both men are extremely solid workers, it should be very entertaining as well.

LIW Top Five:
Champion: "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson

1) Too Cold Scorpio - Too Cold Scorpio won the top contendership in a match against Octagon a month ago, and since then the International Thug Syndicate has done their best to keep him fresh, electing other members of the Syndicate to represent them in their matches so Scorpio can be totally ready when the time comes.  In recent weeks due to Simon Diamond's losing streak, Scorpio has looked very much like the most valuable and powerful member in the Syndicate, and some are beginning to wonder if that isn't why Simon Diamond is so desperate to get a solid win.

2) Frank Shamrock - Frank Shamrock continues to prove that he is one of the greatest submission wrestlers in the business by nearly dismantling both Cactus Jack and Kevin Nash single handedly before Randy Orton tagged himself in and lost the match for their team.  The sheer fact that Orton thought twice about going for the RKO on Shamrock speaks of how dangerous he is!

3) "Y2J" Chris Jericho - Chris Jericho continues his winning streak with a victory over Scott Steiner in a Submission Match.  Though it wasn't enough to earn him a spot in the Top Contender's Match yet, it DID put him on the board at the #3 spot in the Top Five.  If Jericho can pick up a few more victories, he will definately deserve a Top Contender's match.

4) "The Legend Killer" Randy Orton - Randy Orton has had an interesting month.  On one hand, he has lost in two tag team matches against Cactus Jack and Kevin Nash, but on the other he upended HKW's Muhammed Hassan in an interpromotional HEAD OF THE CLASS title match and has been strutting around with the title like some kind of proud frat boy with a hicky ever since.  If he weren't so involved with Cactus Jack, he would likely be competing in the Top Contender's Match at Big Apple Brawl.

5) "The British Sensation" Jonny Storm - Wow!  Talk about a turnaround.  Rather than moping around like... say... Vampiro, Jonny Storm has snapped since the end of New Europe.  A path of broken bodies lies in his wake, with Ron Harris, Zach Gowen and even his old friend Alex Wright each meeting some kind of twisted vengeance from Storm!  Who will be Storm's next victim?  And how long can this momentum last?

LIW Newsline - 5/31/06

We are just days away from Big Apple Brawl, which will be held live in Brooklyn on June 3rd!  We are proud to announce that tickets have already sold out, and that there will be over 1,000 fans in attendence, plus representatives from the press and several Japanese promotions in search of new Gaijin talent.  With virtually the entire roster scheduled to compete, someone could end up getting their big break, and fans of just about anyone will go home happy.

"The British Sensation" Jonny Storm has made a major impact since the fall of New Europe, taking out the men who he feels led to the fall one by one in an attempt to Redeem the Dream.  Already Ron Harris, Zach Gowen and Alex Wright have paid the price.  Apparently Storm has set his sights on "The Monster" Edward Chastain as his next target!  The Usurpers didn't really begin to gain momentum until they added the cake-loving monster to their ranks, and Storm knows it.  Chastain provides the muscle that backs up the goals of Usurper leader Frank Shamrock, and if Jonny Storm can defeat him, he can make a major statement.  In doing so, he will be one step closer to his goal: to Redeem the Dream.

Usurper member Chris Sabin is dissappointed after losing to Arn Anderson at The Day After, but he is apparently not discouraged.  Instead, he has announced that he wishes to compete in an Usurper Invitational match.  This match will feature him taking on two wrestlers not currently under LIW contract in an exhibition match.  WWE has promised to send one of their most talented Cruiserweights to participate in the challenge.  As for the third wrestler - we have no idea who will fill the third slot.  Any match featuring Chris Sabin and one of WWE's finest is sure to be exciting, however.

Randy Orton is feeling extrordinarily confident since winning the HKW HEAD OF THE CLASS Title.  So confident, in fact, that he has actually challenged Cactus Jack to a Brooklyn Street Fight at Big Apple Brawl.  Streetfights are Cactus Jack's specialty, but Orton once defeated him in one back in Spring of 2004.  It's been over two years now since that momentous victory catapulted Orton's career into the stratosphere, and the old feud between these two men has re-ignited in Long Island Wrestling.  Can Orton somehow gain another Streetfight victory over Cactus Jack more than two years later?  Or will Cactus Jack give him the beating that the crowds so badly want to see?

Of course, in the main event of Big Apple Brawl, New York State Heavyweight Champion "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson will take on the International Thug Syndicate's own Too Cold Scorpio in a title match.  Anderson has got to be getting tired from his heavy schedule of title defenses, while Too Cold Scorpio has been resting and preparing for the last month!  Does Scorpio have an advantage?  Let's take a look:

The Challenger:
Too Cold Scorpio
5'10" 228 lbs
Signiture Move: 450 Splash

Too Cold Scorpio is one of the most innovative and influential pioneers of the modern North American High Flying style of wrestling still active today.  Ever since the early 1990s, Scorpio has been proving again and again that he is simply one of the best out there in his style.  Even though there are presently wrestlers who are faster than him and that can do more intricate moves, the fact that he was one of the first to really innovate in that direction gives him a level of experience not usually faced in High Fliers.  Scorpio is thus less likely to make many of the serious errors and take the extreme and unworthwhile risks that many younger wrestlers would.  This, along with his arsenal of high impact moves and the fact that he is well rested, makes Too Cold Scorpio a very credible threat to the New York State Heavyweight Title!

The Champion:
"The Enforcer" Arn Anderson
5'11" 243 lbs
Signiture Move: Spinebuster

Arn Anderson is becoming increasingly worn down as the entire LIW roster targets him - after all, he's not exactly a young many any longer.  What he is, however, is a skilled mat technician and a good brawler.  If Anderson hopes to gain a victory this time, however, he will have to surprise Scorpio with his speed and take him down quickly from the beginning.  If Anderson can get Scorpio on the mat early and keep him there, there isn't much that Scorpio can do to fight back.  If he can't, Scorpio will take advantage of the fact that Anderson is beat up and tired to try to stall him until his high flying can come into play effectively.  With that in mind, Anderson needs to stay on top of Scorpio, because even whipping him into the ropes to go for the Spinebuster could be disastrous.
