Life continues to be interesting, but I'm as curious to find out who's going to walk away with the Global Heavyweight Title as you all are, so I've managed to put out another card.  I'd say more, but I'm still marking out after the end of the main event...

We start off with a HUGE victory here by The Basham Brothers over the top contenders to the Tag Team Titles, Dementia.  O'Haire and Damian 666 appeared shocked by just how well the Bashams were able to work together against them, and Damian was quickly isolated and beaten badly by the brothers.  Sean O'Haire finally got the tag after almost 4 minutes, but in short order he was hit by a stiff clothesline by Danny Basham and pinned for three.  With the match over, O'Haire and Damian immediately rolled out of the ring looking not much worse for wear.  Could they have sacrificed this match in order to remain fresh for their Global Tag Team Title match later tonight?  Whatever the case, The Basham Brothers have continued their rise through the tag team ranks with this victory tonight, and if Dementia wins they may be owed a Title Shot.

Coming up tonight, the final two slots in The Crowning 2005 will be filled.  First, Matt Hardy will take on Trent Acid for one of those two remaining spots.  Shane Douglas and Johnny Ace of Overpower will be facing America's Most Wanted of Team TCW in a tag team match with Chuck Palumbo as the special guest referee.  Dementia will, of course, get their shot at The Ultimate Alliance for the Global Tag Team Titles.  A-Train and Ahmed Johnson will take on Flying Tigers for the last time, and The Future will team up with New Jack to face Billy Gunn, Slash and Jay Briscoe.  Finally, in our main event there will be a Battle Royal to select the final contender in next week's Tournament.  Stay tuned!

This was a back and forth match between Matt Hardy, one of NDW's most dominant athletes, and Trent Acid, a relative unknown in New Deal Wrestling.  It was therefore quite a surprise when Acid matched Hardy move for move, taking Hardy's hard hitting offense on the chin and coming back for more.  In the end, even Lita seemed powerless to stop Acid as he gained a late advantage following an Asai Moonsault out of the ring onto Hardy and hit the Yakuza Kick.  Somehow Hardy kicked out, but a Running Forearm moments later finally kept him down long enough for Trent Acid to advance into The Crowning.

Matt Hardy looks stunned by this loss, and seems about to continue the brawl when Lita reminds him of his Tag Team Title Match that's still coming up.  So, visibly angry, Hardy retreats to the back to lick his wounds.

(We go backstage now, where a central room has been set up.  The vacant Global
Heavyweight Title can be seen under glass, and each member who has qualified
for The Crowning 2005 so far is staring at the belt.  Trent Acid, the latest
man to qualify, is just entering.)

Edge: The Global Heavyweight Title...  I've held it twice, and next week I
finally have my chance to regain it.  I've been chasing this opportunity for
months now, and you know, it's kind of funny.  Matt Hardy claimed that he would
somehow stop me from winning... but I don't see him here anywhere...  Guess it
just shows once again who the better wrestler is.

Red: I've been overlooked time and time again in the pursuit of this title.
Overlooked because people think I'm too small, or that I'm just a tag team
wrestler...  Next week, I prove to everyone and to myself that I am the best!

James Storm: That title means a lot to me...  I've been half of the Tag Team
Champions so many times, and I've had so many shots at it.  But each time, I
come up short.  Well, next week will be different.  I have guidance now.  And
with the experience I've gained from the excellent competition in TCW, I will
be unstoppable!

Sean O'Haire: This title, along with the Global Tag Team Titles, both belong
around my waist.  I've been the workhorse of this company since its founding,
and next week, when I walk out with two golden belts, all of that will have
paid off.  But hey, I'm not telling you anything you don't already know...

A-Train: I am a steam-powered death machine!  I am A-Train!  I am unstoppable!

Trent Acid: Finally I have the chance to prove myself!  I've been trying for
ages to make an impact in the industry as more than a half of a tag team, and
finally I have the opportunity!  If... when I win, I will bring honor and
prestige to the title, and show Nana once and for all that bringing me to NDW
was the best investment he ever made.

Chris Harris actually came out with one of the Head Hunters for this match, claiming that James Storm had been advised by Dusty Rhodes to take the week off to maximize his chances of winning the Global Heavyweight Title next week at The Crowning 2005.  Unfortunately for Harris, he didn't click well with the 400-odd pound Dominican.  Ace and Douglas were, as usual, a highly effective duo, bending the rules repeatedly to ensure a victory.  Unfortunately, one of those incidents apparently rubbed Chuck Palumbo the wrong way, because he tried to fastcount them for the remainder of the match.  Once Ace pulled out a victory despite these odds with the Implant DDT, Palumbo took him down with a Discus Punch.  Shane Douglas tried to calm Palumbo down, but was quickly met with a Jungle Kick for his trouble!

for weeks now.  And for a while there, I was.  Overpower looked like it was

I've had to deal with Nash's bullshit already, and I have no desire to put up
with it again.  After you brought in Nash, Dusty made me an offer I couldn't
refuse...  Sorry guys, but money talks, and I'm the newest member of the TCW
roster!

What a match!  It seems like NDW can't go two weeks these days without putting on a genuine Match of the Year Candidate!  Throughout the match, the relatively fresh team of Sean O'Haire and Damian 666 tried to take advantage of the battered Matt Hardy, but The Undertaker proved extremely effective at keeping them from gaining a major advantage.  Damian 666 proved his worth and why he is known as the Hardcore Lunchadore with several Singapore Cane shots to The Undertaker's groin.  With 'Taker thus incapacitated, Damian was eventually able to pick up the victory just a minute and a half before the match would have gone to a time limit draw!

Sean O'Haire and Damian 666 celebrate in the ring as The Undertaker limps to the back, but Matt Hardy looks stunned by his second major defeat this evening.  He's got a chair!  Down goes Sean O'Haire!  Down goes Damian 666!  He even took out the referee!  Matt Hardy has snapped!

when Red pinned A-Train after the Air Raid in 0:18:12.

Flying Tigers go over big here after a very competitive match against the much larger duo of A-Train and Ahmed Johnson.  Interestingly, The Amazing Red and A-Train will both be The Crowning, so perhaps this is a preview of what we'll see if they end up facing each other.  In the end, the always lethal Air Raid puts A-Train away.

(Chance Beckett no-showed.)

Chance Beckett was nowhere to be seen in this match - it seems likely that he was trying to conserve his strength by sitting this match out.  Insane Dragon substituted for him, but it really didn't matter much as the match was over as soon as it began.  Slash was simply no match for Xavier, and after the second 450 he was unable to kick out.

What a battle!  From beginning to end, this could have gone to any of the wrestlers who entered.  When Johnny Ace was revealed as the victor, however, the crowd went wild.  Overpower entered the ring to congratulate him, and each one in turn shook his hand.  This is a wonderful thing for Overpower, which now has two men in the Tournament next week.

Overpower continues to laugh and celebrate, but as we go off the air we can see Johnny Ace saying something to Ahmed Johnson.  Everyone stares at Ace for a moment, then Kevin Nash slaps him upside the head as we fade to black.

Weird night for Dementia... lose in the curtain jerk, but then beat Hardy and Undertaker, arguably two of the most dominant guys in NDW, for the tag titles.  I like me some O'Haire though, so excellent.

Matt Hardy also eats it in the qualifying match to Trent Acid, who I gather as being a tough TNM wrestler.

Chuck Palumbo joins Team TCW!  Oh the deliciousness!

And RACIST JOHNNY ACE WINS! *drools* That rules.  I totally thought it was going to come down to Head Hunter #1 and Head Hunter #2.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but when O'Haire jobbed to Danny Basham via a clothesline after taking a half dozen moves or less, I got the distinct impression that he decided to throw the match so Dementia could take advantage of Matt Hardy having to wrestle in a Qualifying Match.  And really, events seem to have given some credibility to that theory...

Tonight was a terrible, terrible night for Matt Hardy.  I expect that he'll be re-examining his priorities after both failing to Qualify for The Crowning (keep in mind that he not only Qualified for The Crowning 2004, but actually won the tournament).

Palumbo joining Team TCW has been inevitable for me since the beginning.  Overpower was becoming far too popular with the silly Racist Johnny Ace bits to possibly stay heel, so... Consider them turned.

I MARKED THE HELL OUT when Johnny Ace won.  He wasn't my first pick, or even in my top few, but he's really been THE breakout character of NDW, so his winning was a very pleasant surprise.  I was also afraid that one of The Head Hunters would win the Battle Royal - especially when they were in the last 10, then the last 8, then the last 6.  I was actually sure that Billy Gunn would win just to mock me, but like I said, Ace pleasantly surprised me.

My pick to win the Tournament is The Amazing Red.  I just get the feeling that it's his time now.  Plus TNM likes him just as much as it likes Trent Acid.
