Table Match:
Sabu defeated Teddy Hart by putting him through a table in 0:13:13.
Rating: *** 3/4

Last week, Teddy Hart went through a table when he attempted a skytwister press to the outside of the ring where Sabu was laying on the table but had moved out of the way at the last moment. That match went to a time limit draw. This week, these two wrestled again but this time with Table Match rules. Teddy Hart came close to winning this match but the wily veteran Sabu was able to prevail again but just barely. Teddy Hart had Sabu on top of the table and was going to put him through the table with a sitout power bomb. However, Sabu was able to counter out of it in mid-air with a faceslam that put Teddy Hart through the table. Although, there could be some controversy in the finish of the match because both competitors went through the table.

Interview:
"The Prince of Punk" Shannon Moore tells us that the "system is oppressive" and that next week, he will begin to "fight the power" as he will be making his debut in ECW!

[After the Shannon Moore promo, Joey Styles is shown backstage standing by with Rob Van Dam.]

Joey Styles: Rob Van Dam, you were the longest reigning ECW World Television Champion in the history of the promotion. While that probably meant a lot to you, I can safely assume that there is one accomplishment that would mean even more: the ECW World Championship. Tonight, you have the opportunity to challenge Kurt Angle for the ECW World Title that he now holds. What are your thoughts going into this important match?

Rob Van Dam: I have mixed emotions, Joey. I'm excited at the prospects of winning the ECW World Title for the first time but I'm also angry. I'm angry at Kurt Angle for disrespecting me when I attempted to show respect to him by extending my hand to him. What did I get? I got an Angle Slam and another Angle Slam onto a chair for my attempt to be a sportsman. I thought Kurt Angle had changed for the better but I suppose a leopard never changes their spots. Speaking of spots, Joey, I have no doubts that when I hit the Five Star Frog Splash, showing Kurt Angle and everyone else that no one gets higher than Rob Van Dam, I will become the ECW World Champion!

Joey Styles: What about Kurt Angle reforming Team Angle last week with Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin? Not only that but Kurt Angle has promised an extreme surprise this week for you. How does this change your strategy going into this match?

Rob Van Dam: It's simple. I don't sweat the small stuff. I can't control what Kurt Angle might have planned. I don't really care either. Kurt Angle, you can bring Charlie Haas and you can bring Shelton Benjamin and anyone else. It won't change the fact that I am going to win the ECW World Title. It's true, it's [bleep]ing true.

MNM (Joey Mercury and Johnny Nitro) defeated The Eliminators (John Kronus and Perry Saturn) when Mercury pinned Kronus after the Snapshot in 0:16:03.
Rating: ****
[Melina interfered against Perry Saturn.]

The first time these teams faced each other, The Eliminators had made their surprising return to ECW and shocked MNM by defeating them in under thirty seconds. This time, the match would last much longer but with a different result. The Eliminators looked to still be smarting from last week's battle royal where Kurt Angle cost them the chance to win the ECW World Tag Team Titles. The team Kurt Angle helped, The World's Greatest Tag Team, watched from ringside with their tag team belts around their shoulders. The World's Greatest Tag Team didn't get involved in this match until near the end but up to that point, the fans were treated to a great tag team match between the past and the future of ECW. The Eliminators had Johnny Nitro up for the Total Elimination but The World's Greatest Tag Team stormed the ring and knocked John Kronus and Perry Saturn out with belt shots to the head. This allowed MNM to take advantage by hitting the Snapshot on John Kronus for the three count.

The Sandman pinned Justin Credible with the White Russian Legsweep in 0:04:04.
Rating: *** 1/4

The Sandman's entrance probably lasted longer than this match did. These two are no strangers to each other in ECW as they wrestled in the past for the ECW World Title. Justin Credible had taken the Singapore Cane and tried to hit The Sandman with it, but he moved out of the way and snatched it from him. The Sandman was able to repeatedly hit Justin Credible with the Singapore Cane. The Sandman took a stunned Justin Credible and hit the White Russian Legsweep for the three count.

After the match, as The Sandman was celebrating with some beer, Lance Storm rushed to the ring and surprised him with a superkick. Justin Credible got back to his feet and The Impact Players started to beatdown on The Sandman. This brought Tommy Dreamer rushing down to the ring with a barbed wire baseball bat. Justin Credible was able to get out of the ring, but as Tommy Dreamer took a swing at Lance Storm, Justin Credible slid Lance Storm out of the ring by grabbing his legs and sliding him out just in time.

Interview:
[Vampiro is shown laying against a wall and holding a lighter. He flicks the lighter on and surprisingly, he grazes it against his left forearm. Vampiro winces in pain.]

Vampiro: You might be wondering just why I would do that to myself. It's simple really. I need to feel pain to know I'm still alive. Pain is like a drug to me because I get high off of it. You know what though? I'm tired of feeling pain. It's time for others to feel my pain. In ECW, I intend to make others feel pain because it will make me feel good. I will make your fears become a reality.

Brent Albright made Kid Kash submit to the Crowbar in 0:04:40.
Rating: *** 1/4

This match pitted a styles clash between the high flying, risk taking Kid Kash going up against the technical, mat based Brent Albright. The strategy of Kid Kash had to be to avoid getting caught in the middle of the ring by Brent Albright in the Crowbar submission hold. Unfortunately, the strategy didn't last too long. Kid Kash attempted a flying huracanrana, but Brent Albright countered with a power bomb. Brent Albright immediately locked in the Crowbar in the middle of the ring. Kid Kash had no choice but to submit to the hold giving Brent Albright the submission victory.

Simon Diamond and Johnny Swinger defeated The bWo (Stevie Richards and The Blue Meanie) when S. Diamond pinned Meanie with the Simonizer in 0:08:28.
Rating: **

The ECW crowd was happy to see The bWo reformed and back in blue. However, the fun would be short lived Simon Diamond and Johnny Swinger made their entrance. Simon told the crowd he had a problem with the bWo because he thinks they are pathetic. The bWo didn't like that comment and the match was on. While the crowd was firmly on the side of the bWo, it couldn't help them defeat Simon & Swinger. Simon Diamond got the pinfall victory after he hit an impressive Simonizer on The Blue Meanie.

Interview:
[A man with many tattoos on his left arm, including one of the Pepsi logo and Straight Edge on his stomach is shown looking intently into the screen. It's none other than CM Punk.]

CM Punk: Don't let these tattoos fool you. I'm straight edge. I'm a man of great discipline. I don't drink. I don't smoke. I don't do drugs. My addiction is wrestling. My obsession is competition and discipline. My name is CM Punk!

[Al Snow is backstage talking to the "Head" mannequin.]

Al Snow: Do you have any idea what that blonde vixen named Kelly Kelly was doing out there in my match last week? I know she's hot! But she cost me the match! With the return of ECW, I can't afford to get off to a losing start.

[Just then, a smiling Kelly Kelly walks up to Al Snow. She puts her hands on the "Head" mannequin.]

Kelly Kelly: Hey Al! Can I have "Head"?

[This provokes a bunch of laughter from the ECW crowd and a confused look on Al Snow's face.]

Al Snow: Usually I'm the one begging for it. This is too good to be true!

[Kelly Kelly, maybe not too on the bright side, figures out what she said and gets flustered.]

Kelly Kelly: No, no. I meant, can I see this mannequin for a moment?

[A disappointed Al Snow hands her the mannequin. Kelly Kelly throws it down and Al Snow looks surprised.]

Al Snow: Why did you do that? It has feelings you know! Not only that, I want to know why you got up on that ring apron, distracted me with your booty dance and cost me the match!

Kelly Kelly: Did I really cost you the match? No, I did not. I got so excited that I finally got to see my most favorite wrestler in the world wrestling in ECW.

Al Snow: Since when was I anyone's favorite wrestler?

Kelly Kelly: You're mine, that's for sure. You know what though? You need to take yourself more seriously. Look at you. You talk to a mannequin head! How do you expect anyone to take you seriously if you can't even take yourself seriously! You're in luck though because I definitely take you seriously, Al. That's why I want to guide your career. I might be young but I'm not naive. I am what you are missing. Besides the business advantages, just think of the other perks of having me as your manager?

Al Snow: I don't know what to say. I know that I want to be taken seriously. But I'm still not convinced and I'm not sure what your motives are in wanting to manage me.

Kelly Kelly: That's understandable. I suppose this is somewhat random, huh? I guess that's how crushes usually are but you can't help who you like after all. I'll tell you what, Al. Think it over for a couple of weeks. In two weeks, I'll be here and ready to hear your decision on whether you want me to manage you or not. Before you do that, though, I want you and all the ECW fans to watch me in two weeks as I am going to show everyone just what I am all about. Take care, Al.

[Kelly Kelly gives Al Snow a kiss on the cheek and walks away. Al Snow is left dumbfounded.]

Kurt Angle made Rob Van Dam submit to the Ankle Lock in 0:22:18.
Rating: *****
(Kurt Angle retained the ECW World Title.)

What an amazing match and it will definitely contend for Match of the Year when 2006 is all said and done. However, the match will probably be remembered more for the return of a past ECW wrestler no one expected. This match had many near falls and just when you thought you had the chance to figure what was going to happen, things changed quickly. This match featured a ladder being brought in by Rob Van Dam near the end of the match. It was used as a substitute for a chair for the Van Daminator maneuver! As if that wasn't enough, Rob Van Dam put Kurt Angle in the opposite corner of the ring and put the ladder on him. Amazingly, Rob Van Dam hit the incredible Van Terminator onto the ladder. The ECW fans at this time were electric as they felt he was very close to winning the match and the ECW World Title.

Rob Van Dam moved Kurt Angle to the middle of the ring and set the ladder up. Rob Van Dam climbed up the ladder and motioned that he was going to attempt the Five Star Frog Splash from the ladder! He would be prevented from doing so as none other than Rhino hit the ring and pushed the ladder over, knocking Rob Van Dam down with it. When Rob Van Dam staggered back up, he was hit with the Gore! Rhino cursed at Rob Van Dam before leaving the ring. Kurt Angle got back up to his feet, looking down at Rob Van Dam and then smiling at Rhino. This must've been the extreme surprise Kurt Angle was referring to last week! Kurt Angle applied the Ankle Lock to Rob Van Dam in the middle of the ring. Rob Van Dam, with the hold applied in the middle of the ring and having just been hit with the Gore, decided to submit to the hold rather than risk possible injury. Kurt Angle retains the ECW World Title thanks to the surprising and unexpected return of Rhino to Extreme Championship Wrestling!

Another good card.  I was watching a Sabu shoot interview on youtube the other day and he mentioned wrestling Teddy once and seemed impressed with his talent.  I've only seen highlights of him but many are high on him overall.

Solid ratings for every match really this card, lots of good workrate.  Shannon Moore is getting quite the intro so we'll see what you do with him, looking forward to that.

Nice to see MNM last longer than 30 seconds and in fact beat the Eliminators even if it was tainted.  :)

I was always a huge Justin Credible mark, I got to see one ECW show live before they shut down originally when they made their first trek to Texas, traveled several hours to see them in Houston.  The heat Credible got there was some of the most I've seen at a live show, very enjoyable.  Never been a big fan of Sandman but nothing wrong with him gaining a victory.

Kelly Kelly being in love with Snow is a fun storyline, interested to see where you take it.  Classic match for the main event with Rhino coming in and messing RVD's world up.  I enjoyed the chemistry those two had with one another so it will be fun to see a feud between the two or maybe even with Kurt thrown in the mix.

Another good card, keep it up!
