Location: Trenton, NJ

The Mexicools (Super Crazy and Psicosis) defeated MNM (Joey Mercury and Johnny
Nitro) when Crazy defeated Nitro by disqualification in 0:15:24.
Rating: **
(MNM retained the World Tag Team Titles.)
[Chris Masters interfered against Super Crazy.]

According to the Smackdown! Wrestling Tag Team Rankings, The Mexicools are the
number one contenders for the World Tag Team Titles. Tonight, they were awarded
with a championship match against MNM. They provided MNM with quite the
challenge and it appeared that The Mexicools were going to end the nearly six
month title reign of MNM. However, Pretty Cool had other plans that didn't
involve The Mexicools becoming the World Tag Team Champions. It shouldn't have
been a surprise considering last week The Mexicools defeated the previously
unbeaten Pretty Cool in a match of the year contender. Super Crazy was about to
hit a Moonsault on Johnny Nitro, but Chris Masters jumped on the ring apron and
knocked him off the turnbuckle and down to the mat. The referee immediately
disqualified MNM, but they still are the reigning World Tag Team Champions.

Carlito and Chris Masters immediately proceeded to beatdown on The Mexicools.
MNM joined in to make it a 4 on 2 beatdown. This didn't last long as The
Hooliganz ran down to the ring to even the odds. Smackdown! General Manager
Teddy Long ordered security to separate the teams from each other as the crowd
booed the decision as they wanted the teams to continue to fight it out in the
ring.

Bobby Lashley pinned Big Vito after a powerslam in 0:02:41.
Rating: * 1/4

Bobby Lashley, who has not been in the best of moods the past few weeks after
being screwed out of becoming the King of the Ring thanks to The Great Khali,
had an opportunity to take out his frustrations on Big Vito. He took advantage
of the opportunity by hitting all of his power moves on the shocked Vito. Bobby
Lashley finished the match with a powerslam to get the three count and to send
a message to The Great Khali.

After the match, The Great Khali approached the ring with his manager Daivari.
Bobby Lashley motioned for The Great Khali to get into the ring, showing
absolutely no signs of any intimidation of the new phenom of Smackdown!
Wrestling. The Great Khali appeared as if he would accept the open challenge by
Bobby Lashley right there and then, reaching for the ropes. However, he let go
of the ropes, and backed away from the ring.

Interview:
Vince McMahon makes a surprise appearance in Smackdown! General Manager Teddy
Long's office. Mr. McMahon informs Teddy Long that next week, the prospective
buyer of Smackdown! Wrestling, Shane McMahon, will be touring the company and
talking to Smackdown! talent before making a decision about buying the
promotion. Mr. McMahon tells Teddy Long that he should not be surprised if he
is fired by Shane McMahon because he'll want to run Smackdown! Wrestling the
way he wants to. Teddy Long says that is to be expected and he respects Shane
McMahon. However, if he is fired, Teddy Long jokes around that maybe Extreme
Championship Wrestling will hire him. This comment infuriates Vince McMahon who
storms out of the office angrily!

[World Television Title Tournament - First Round]:
Gregory Helms defeated Mark Henry by disqualification in 0:03:31.
Rating: * 3/4

Gregory Helms vacated the World Cruiserweight Title and that lead Smackdown!
General Manager Teddy Long to bring back the World Television Championship.
Gregory Helms believed that rightfully he would be awarded the vacant
championship. Teddy Long had other plans as he put him in an impromptu match
with The Great Khali. Tonight, Gregory Helms was surprised when his first round
opponent was none other than "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry! To Gregory
Helms' credit, he used his athletic ability to avoid many of Mark Henry's power
moves and strength. This frustrated Mark Henry to the point that he knocked
down the referee, causing the disqualification.

After the match, Mark Henry hit the World's Strongest Slam on Gregory Helms. He
then laid Gregory Helms against one of the turnbuckles and hit a splash!
Gregory Helms hit the mat and clutched his ribs in pain from just being hit
with a splash by an over 400 pound monster like Mark Henry.

Interview:
It is announced that Booker T and Queen Sharmell have decided to have an
official coronation next week on Smackdown! Wrestling to celebrate his King of
the Ring victory at MAYhem. Apparently, he will be crowned and declared King
Booker.

[World Television Title Tournament - First Round]:
Ken Kennedy defeated Gunner Scott when Gunner Scott passed out in
an armbar submission in 0:13:24.
Rating: ** 1/2

Over the past several weeks, Mr. Kennedy and Gunner Scott have been involved in
what has becomed an evolving feud. It began with Mr. Kennedy costing Gunner
Scott a match against Finlay when he hit him with a chair and then hit a DDT
onto the chair before throwing him back into the ring to Finlay. Then, two
weeks ago, it was Gunner Scott who get some retribution by pinning Mr. Kennedy
in a tag team match. This singles match between them would be even more
important than just fighting for respect. A chance to advance in the World
Television Title Tournament was on the line to the winner.

The match featured some good mat based wrestling, involving technical and
submission holds. Gunner Scott had Mr. Kennedy in his Crowbar submission hold
but Kennedy managed to getahold of the ropes to break the hold. Gunner Scott
then picked Mr. Kennedy up and played to the crowd a little longer than he
should've. Gunner Scott attempted to hit Mr. Kennedy with a German Suplex but
Mr. Kennedy was able to counter out of it with a go-behind. Mr. Kennedy hit a
DDT onto a surprised Gunner Scott and then applied an armbar submission. Mr.
Kennedy had the hold locked in the center of the ring on Gunner Scott. With no
chance of breaking the hold, Gunner Scott had to submit. Mr. Kennedy advances
onto the next round of the World Television Title Tournament.

Interview:
Pamela Paulshock is backstage with Matt Hardy. She talks about how two weeks ago
he was attacked by Scott Steiner, who many people believe isn't even an employee
of Smackdown! Wrestling. Matt Hardy says that he could care less which promotion
Scott Steiner works for. First, he cost Kurt Angle the World Heavyweight
Championship. Then, he attacked Matt Hardy in a match against The Road Warrior.
Matt Hardy says that Scott Steiner will not use Matt Hardy as a stepping stone
here on Smackdown! Wrestling. Regardless of whether Scott Steiner works for
Smackdown! Wrestling or not, Matt Hardy is challenging him to a match next
week on Smackdown! Wrestling! Matt Hardy is then attacked by Scott Steiner
with a lead pipe! Scott Steiner yells at Matt Hardy that they don't have to
wait for next week. Scott Steiner takes the microphone away from Pamela and
says that he accepts the challenge. Scott Steiner claims that he will make
Matt Hardy his bitch next week, much like what he did to Kurt Angle at
Smackdown! when he lost the World Heavyweight Championship. Pamela tries to
ask Scott Steiner why he is on Smackdown! Wrestling but he just ignores her
and walks away.

Chavo Guerrero defeated Batista by countout in 0:13:51.
Rating: 3/4*

The past several weeks on Smackdown! Wrestling have seen a major change in Chavo
Guerrero's attitude towards just about everyone. He turned his back on Rey
Mysterio at MAYhem and hit him with a Gory Bomb. Since then, Rey Mysterio has
not been seen on Smackdown! Wrestling. Rey Mysterio, according to Chavo
Guerrero, insulted the legacy of Eddie Guerrero and used that legacy to get
the WrestleMania World Heavyweight Title Match against Kurt Angle and Randy
Orton, which he lost. Two weeks ago, Batista confronted Chavo Guerrero and
told him he did not approve of what he has said about Rey Mysterio and he also
didn't think Eddie Guerrero would've approved either. This infuriated Chavo
Guerrero and he actually challenged Batista to a match on Smackdown! Wrestling.

Chavo Guerrero received a mixed reaction, but mainly just "EDDIE" chants and
mostly boos from the crowd. Batista, on the other hand, received a huge
ovation for just his second wrestling match since being out injured. Batista
tried to talk some sense into Chavo Guerrero before the match began but for
his efforts he received a slap to the face. That was a mistake by Chavo
because it infuriated Batista and unleashed "The Animal" in him that all
Smackdown! Wrestling competitors have come to known. Batista took control of
the match from the beginning but he still held back, still having some sort of
respect for Chavo Guerrero.

At one point, Batista offered to lift Chavo Guerrero up from the mat and just
call the match off. It looked as if Chavo would take Batista up on the offer,
only to deliver a shot to the groin of Batista! This stunned Batista long
enough for Chavo Guerrero to bounce off the ropes and clothesline Batista out
of the ring. Chavo Guerrero immediately distracted the referee. From over the
barricade came the United States Heavyweight Champion, JBL. As Batista
staggered to his feet, he was met with a shot to the head by the U.S.
Heavyweight Title belt. JBL looked down at Batista and laughed at him before
exiting through the crowd. Chavo Guerrero stopped distracting the referee and
motioned to him that Batista was on the outside of the ring. The referee
proceeded to make the ten count. While Batista was on his feet struggling to
get back into the ring, it was too late as the referee finally came to the ten
count, giving Chavo Guerrero the upset victory by countout.

Interview:
Ric Flair answers to Randy Orton's challenge from two weeks ago. Ric Flair said
that he thought over Randy Orton's proposal about accepting Ric Flair's World
Heavyweight Title challenge only if he put his career on the line, very
carefully. At this point, while the stipulation about retiring is very serious
should he lose, Ric Flair reasoned that this was his best opportunity at
becoming the World Heavyweight Champion one more time. So yes, Ric Flair will
accept the stipulations for the World Heavyweight Title Match. Randy Orton
says that the match is on for The Great American Bash on July 23. But Randy
Orton wonders why Ric Flair, a 16 time World Heavyweight Champion, would
agree to be made to look foolish in a match against a young stallion like
Randy Orton. Randy Orton, despite having respect for what Ric Flair
accomplished in his career, says that he has no respect for Ric Flair clinging
to the past. At The Great American Bash, Randy Orton promises to make Ric
Flair realize that it is time to retire and let the new generation of
professional wrestling have their time.

Randy Orton goes on to say that he learned a lot from Ric Flair when he was a
member of Evolution with Triple H and Batista. Evolution was a good term to
describe what constituted the group. Ric Flair evolved to Triple H, who many
believe is currently the greatest professional wrestler in the sport today, to
Triple H evolving to Randy Orton. However, Randy Orton says that as far as he
is concerned, evolution is not the best term to describe his current status.
It's more like...Ascension. From backstage, Johnny Nitro and Joey Mercury run
down to the ring and attack Ric Flair from behind. Randy Orton laughs at Ric
Flair as he tries to fight back against Nitro and Mercury. Nitro and Mercury
manage to execute the Snapshot on Ric Flair and leave him laying on the mat.
Randy Orton shakes Johnny Nitro and Joey Mercury's hands and claims that what
we all just witnessed was Ascension. At The Great American Bash, Ric Flair
will witness it firsthand as Randy Orton claims he will retire him and retain
the World Heavyweight Championship.
