Note: If there are a few instances of storylines/segments you remember watching from this WWE version of Smackdown! the past few weeks (on this card and next week's), I know. I decided to follow through on some of the segments and angles that the WWE is using right now. While other segments, angles, and storylines are different or are using a different slant to them. Thank you.

WWE Smackdown!
Date: April 7, 2006
Location: Peoria, IL

Interview:
Smackdown! General Manager has decided to bring back the prestigeous King of
the Ring tournament. The finals of the tournament will take place at the next
pay per view, MAYhem. The brackets will be announced after the show.
Also, Teddy Long has made a huge trade with interim RAW General Manager, Vince
McMahon. Vince inquired about a certain Smackdown! talent, and what he offered
in exchange for a trade was too good for Smackdown! to pass up. Also, Teddy
Long announces a huge main event for tonight's Smackdown! It will be Randy
Orton versus Rey Mysterio, with the winner becoming the undisputed number one
contender to Kurt Angle's World Heavyweight Championship.

The Mexicools (Super Crazy and Psicosis) defeated Jamie Noble and Kid Kash when
Psicosis pinned J. Noble with the Psycho Guillotine in 0:09:21.
Rating: ** 3/4

The Mexicools rebound from their WrestleMania loss to MNM with a win over the
Southern duo of Jamie Noble and Kid Kash when Psicosis got the pinfall over
Jamie Noble with the Psycho Guillotine. Kid Kash and Super Crazy were fighting
on the outside of the ring so a pin breakup by Kid Kash was out of the question
at that point. A fast paced, exciting way to open Smackdown! this week.

Interview:
The Road Warrior talks about how he not only injured Matt Hardy last week, but
also about costing him the Money in the Bank match at WrestleMania. The Road
Warrior challenges anyone to a match, and when the match is over, everyone will
know The Road Warrior should've been in the Money in the Bank match, not Matt
Hardy. The Road Warrior's challenge is accepted by the Native American Tatanka!

Tatanka pinned The Road Warrior with the End of the Trail in 0:08:14.
Rating: 3/4*

Tatanka scored some retribution for his fellow North Carolinian, Matt Hardy, by
not only accepting The Road Warrior's open challenge but going ahead and
defeating him by pinning him with the End of the Trail! Tatanka has looked very
impressive since his return to the WWE. The Road Warrior cannot be happy with
losing here tonight just days after almost stealing the Money in the Bank
briefcase at WrestleMania.

Interview:
Booker T and Sharmell are in rather good moods considering the fact The
Boogeyman defeated Booker at WrestleMania XXII. Booker T tells Teddy Long that
he has been served with a restraining order against The Boogeyman. If The
Boogeyman should get within 100 feet of Booker T or Sharmell, Teddy Long will
be put in jail! Booker T believes that now it is safe to say there is no such
thing as a Boogeyman any longer.

Elsewhere, JBL berates Jillian for costing him his match against Chris Benoit
for the United States Heavyweight Title at WrestleMania. JBL comes close to
firing Jillian, but Jillian offers him a second chance plea. Jillian tells JBL
that before the show she spoke to Smackdown! General Manager, Teddy Long, and
thanks to her JBL now has a rematch against Chris Benoit next week for the
United States Heavyweight Title. JBL is esctatic, however, Jillian looks
somewhat worried. JBL notices and asks what is wrong. Jillian says that there
is a catch. While JBL will receive a title shot, if he should lose to Chris
Benoit, he will have to leave Smackdown! JBL is beside himself in anger and
tells Jillian that she better have a plan to insure that he defeats Chris
Benoit next week or else she won't be going to whichever wrestling promotion
he'll go to next!

The Undertaker defeated Mark Henry by disqualification in 0:07:03.
Rating: 1/4*
[Daivari interfered against The Undertaker.]

This was a rematch from WrestleMania XXII where Mark Henry lost to The
Undertaker in a Casket Match. As Mark Henry said before in an interview, The
Undertaker would suffer just as Mark Henry did in their match at WrestleMania
XXII. However, it was Mark Henry that was suffering as The Undertaker
completely took control of this match and was about to hit the Tombstone
Piledriver when Daivari entered the ring and hit The Undertaker with a chair.
This caused the disqualification, but it wasn't a concern to Mark Henry as he
helped Daivari beatdown on The Undertaker. None of this had any effect on The
Undertaker and he soon was able to overcome the odds. The Undertaker hit
Daivari and Mark Henry with a double chokeslam. Then, a massive, monstrous
looking individual came out of the crowd over the barricade and entered the
ring. The Undertaker stared him down and proceeded to try to punch him, but it
had no effect on this monster in the ring. This man proceeded to destroy the
Undertaker and finished the proceedings by chokeslamming him through the
announcers table!

Gunner Scott pinned Booker T after a roll up in 0:05:11.
Rating: ** 1/2

With the restraining order in effect against The Boogeyman and a match against a
rookie like Gunner Scott, Booker T thought he basically had the night off. He
wrestled this match arrogantly and did not take Gunner Scott seriously. During
the match, as Booker T was about to hit the Axe Kick on Gunner Scott, the lights
turned off and The Boogeyman's music played. Booker T was distracted by The
Boogeyman's music and possible appearance, and did not notice Gunner Scott
approaching from behind. Gunner Scott took advantage of the distraction and
rolled up a stunned Booker T to get the pinfall.

Smackdown! General Manager Teddy Long walked out and apologized to Booker T for
The Boogeyman's music playing in the arena. Apparently, there was some kind of
technical glitch in the audio system. However, that still does not change the
fact that Gunner Scott defeated the five time WCW Champion in his first match on
Smackdown! Teddy Long shook Gunner Scott's hand and welcomed him to the
Smackdown! brand.

The Hooliganz (Paul London and Brian Kendrick) defeated MNM (Joey Mercury and
Johnny Nitro) when P. London defeated Nitro by disqualification in 0:14:26.
Rating: ** 1/4
[Carlito interfered against Brian Kendrick.]
[Carlito and Chris Masters interfered against Paul London.]

At WrestleMania XXII, MNM successfully defended their World Tag Team Titles
against The Mexicools and The Hooliganz. Tonight, they attempted to continue
that success against The Hooliganz in a non-title match. The Hooliganz had the
early advantage as they interupted Melina's entrance and irritated Joey Mercury
and Johnny Nitro in the ring. The Hooliganz and MNM put on on a fast paced,
exciting match that provided for a very surprising finish. As Paul London was
about to hit the Calling London Shooting Star Press on Joey Mercury, none other
than Chris Masters hit the ring and shoved him off the turnbuckle. The referee
immediately called for the bell and disqualified MNM. Shortly thereafter,
Carlito jumped over the barricade and joined Chris Masters in attacking Paul
London and Brian Kendrick. MNM think about helping their fellow Smackdown!
wrestlers, but wave them off and leave the ring. What are the WWE Tag Team
Champions doing on Smackdown? Chris Masters applies his Masterlock submission
on Paul London while Carlito executes the Back Cracker on Brian Kendrick.
Thankfully, Smackdown! officials rush the ring to separate Chris Masters and
Carlito away from The Hooliganz.

Randy Orton pinned Rey Mysterio with the RKO in 0:24:29.
Rating: **** 3/4

The reigning World Heavyweight Champion, Kurt Angle, watched this match from
ringside and provided color commentary along with Tazz and Michael Cole. Early on,
Rey Mysterio surprised Randy Orton by employing some mat work instead of the
usual aerial maneuvers. This confused Orton at first and lead to Rey Mysterio
gaining the upper hand. When Rey Mysterio decided to go back to the top
turnbuckle, he tried a seated senton, but Randy Orton countered it into a
powerbomb that nearly got the three count. From there, Randy Orton regained
control of the match and used his power and size advantage to thwart Rey's
athleticism. Rey Mysterio was able to get back into this match briefly when he
countered a RKO attempt with a spin kick. Mysterio dropkicked Orton into the
ropes and attempted the 619. Mysterio went for the 619, but Orton moved out of
the way and on the rebound hit the RKO on a surprised Mysterio for the pinfall
victory.

After the match, Kurt Angle got up from the announcers position and stared down
Randy Orton in the ring to end the show.

Card rating: ** 3/4

The tournament finals will take place at the next pay per view, WWE MAYhem.

Also, Smackdown! General Manager Teddy Long has confirmed that Chris Masters
and Carlito were apart of the trade between Smackdown! and RAW. At WrestleMania,
Chris Masters and Carlito defeated Kane and The Big Show for RAW's WWE Tag Team
Titles. However, due to the trade, Vince McMahon has ordered those titles to be
declared vacant. As far as what Smackdown! traded to RAW, it is said that the
details of the trade will be given on RAW as a former Smackdown! talent will
make his prescence known on Monday Night RAW.

Methinks maybe JBL will lose to Benoit and be traded to RAW.

Running with pre-existing storylines is fine when you take over an existing circuit, just make sure next week's Smackdown is better in your world than in the real..
