MCPW Live
Calihan Hall
Detroit, MI - 6/22/07

MCPW Operations Manager Bill DeMott was in the ring and he welcomed everyone to tonight's PPV. Before he announced tonight's matches he stated he had some MCPW business to take of. Last week AJ Styles defeated Low-Ki for the MCPW Television title. The crowd started to boo but DeMott quieted the down and continued. He said that this morning he was informed that Mr. Styles was assaulted a couple of days ago and have sustained multiple injuries in which major surgery was needed to repair. Mr Styles is resting in an undisclosed location but due to his injuries will not be able to carry out the duties of the Television champion, therefore as of now Mr. Styles has been striped of the Television title and tonight a 13 man Battle Royal will take place with the winner walking away the new TV Champion. This did not sit well with Christian Cage and Austin Aries who quickly made their way to the ring to protest. Cage grabbed a mic and accused DeMott of hiring someone to take out Styles because MCPW hated the fact the Coalition had possession of the Heavyweight title and now the Television title. DeMott denied that he or anyone else representing MCPW had anything to do with the attack on AJ Styles and that officials will look into it. Cage didn't buy it and said the Coalition will take care of it themselves starting tonight and both men left the ring leaving DeMott to wonder what they had planed.

Triangle Match:
The Briscoe Brothers (Jay Briscoe and Mark Briscoe) defeated
Paul London and Brian Kendrick and
The Havana Pitbulls (Ricky Reyes and Rocky Romero) when J. Briscoe pinned
R. Romero after a Thunder Fire Power Bomb in 0:15:02.
Rating: ****

Tonight started off with a huge Triangle match featuring 3 of the top teams in MCPW. In a spectacular match up all 6 men went at it with reckless abandonment as bodies flew all over the arena, but it was Jay Briscoe who would get the win by hitting a Thunder Fire Power Bomb on Rocky Romero

Back Stage
Cage and Aries walked up to Christopher Daniels who was talking to his former tag team partner Bryan Danielson. Cage accused Daniels for Styles attack but Daniels denied it, Danielson said that he didn't do it but he would like to shake the hand of the guy who did. Both Daniels and Danielson started to laugh bit Cage and Aries didn't find anything funny. Cage said he will deal with Daniels later tonight in the strap match and told Danielson to find him to partners because tonight he gets the pleasure of meeting the newest members of the Coalition.

MCPW Tag Team Titles Triangle Match:
Irish Airborne (Lotus and Crazy J) defeated
The Naturals (Andy Douglas and Chase Stevens) and
The Kings of Wrestling (Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli) when Crazy J pinned
Castagnoli after a Death Valley Driver in 0:22:00.
Rating: **** 1/4
(Irish Airborne retained the MCPW Tag Team Titles.)

Once again the Kings had an opportunity to win back the titles but this week the Naturals were introduced into the mix between the Kings and Airborne. In a controversial decision by referee Mike Chacoda, he continued the match after the 20 minute time limit allowing Crazy J hit Castagnoli with a Death Valley Driver to pick up the win.

x Joe defeated Mikaze after a rana in 0:11:48
Rating: *** 1/4
(Samoa Joe won the MCPW Television Title.)

When news of the AH Styles being striped of the TV title hit back stage everyone made a bee line to DeMott's office to add their name to the Royal list for a chance at the Television title. Some big surprises came forth in this match as names you wouldn't hear called that much stepped up and made legitimate claims for the title. Takemura surviving to the final 3, Shark Boy eliminating names like Homicide, Kenny Dykstra and almost eliminating Raven, but it was former MCPW Heavyweight champ Samoa Joe who made his return after being away the past few weeks walking away the new Television champ.

Bryan Danielson, CM Punk and Harry Smith defeated The World's Greatest Tag Team
(Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin) and Austin Aries when B. Danielson defeated
S. Benjamin by disqualification in 0:19:11.
Rating: ** 1/2

Danielson had in his corner 2 of MCPW brightest young starts in CM Punk and Harry Smith as they waited to see who the Coalition would throw at them. Austin Aries came down with Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Hass. No one can deny that Benjamin and Hass can wrestle but tonight it looked like the Coalition had brainwashed them or something as no one here ever seen them this brutal and sadistic. No respect for the rules or the referee Benjamin took out the referee by tossing the ref into the steal steps. This allowed the three to attack Daniels and his team relentlessly with whatever was in eyesight until officials came down and quickly called the match, but this match was more of a statement match as the Coalition promised revenge for Styles.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Caribbean Strap Triangle Match:
Christopher Daniels defeated Christian Cage and Mr. X in 0:14:36.
Rating: *** 1/2

Last week Mr. X came out the victor by pinning Cage but this week the only way to win was to strike all 4 turnbuckles. Cage and Daniels went at it most of the match until Mr. X tried to jump in quickly and tap the buckles but Cage took him out with a vicious clothesline that almost took of more then Mr. X's mask. Daniels then took the advantage by hitting Cage with a back breaker then taping each turnbuckle with the Champions head.

I was quite surprised to see that The World's Greatest Tag Team joined forces with the Coalition. Having WGTT should help out Christian Cage as a little added protection. It was also a little shocking to see Christopher Daniels walk away with the Strap Match victory. Great card all around!
