Welcome back to JRCCW wrestling!  Down to the ring for the opening contest...

Barry and Kendall Windham v. Manny Fernandez and Rick Rude

Barry Windham took over on Rick Rude early in the match, but Rude made the tag to Manny Fernandez.  Fernandez was in and he hit Kendall with a swinging neckbreaker, but only got a two count.  Rude and Fernandez tagged in and out, wearing Kendall down.  Rude went for a whip into the turnbuckle, but Kendall reversed it and he caught him with a powerslam coming out, but only got a two count.  Later in the match, both men were brawling on the outside, but the official let them go after it!  This match was approaching the time limit when...

So close!  Several minutes later, Barry was going at it with Manny when he got him up on the turnbuckle and brought him over with The Superplex!  Barry made the cover and got the pin!

What a match-up!  And the fans loved ever minute of it.

We go to the video wall to show footage of what happened last week to Sam Houston.  The footage shows him being defeated by Lex Luger, and then post match, attacked by The Four Horsemen.

Sam Houston is one tough son of a gun!  After taking that beating last week, he's back this week and he'll be in action NEXT!

Sam Houston v. Dick Murdoch

Sam Houston took the fight right to Dick Murdoch tonight, going right after him with a big dropkick, a shoulderblock and even an armdrag takedown!  It wasn't long, though, until Murdoch was able to take over.  Once he did, he toyed with him for several moments before finishing him off with The Gourdbuster to pick up his first JRCCW victory.

Dick Murdoch pinned Sam Houston with the Gourdbuster in 0:10:55.

At this time, The Four Horsemen came out for an interview.  Flair talked about what they did to Sam Houston and Ron Garvin last week and said that was only the beginning.  Arn Anderson took over to talk about their match up next against the Midnight Express and how they didn't care who it was, no one would stand in the Horsemen's way.

JRCCW World Tag Team Tournament
Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard v. The Midnight Express

This matchup went back and forth, both ways for over twenty minutes, with each team cheating on several occasions.  The Midnights hit the Midnight Drop on Blanchard, but he was somehow able to kick out.  Several moments later, Anderson was in there and nailed Lane with The Spinebuster, but Cornette distracted the official.  JJ Dillon came around to get Cornette down and the official tried the separate them.  Meanwhile, Anderson and Blanchard hit Eaton with The Spike Piledriver.  The official saw Anderson covering Eaton, he slid back inside and registered the three count.

Horsemen Blanchard & Anderson (Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard) defeated The Midnight Express (Stan Lane and Bobby Eaton) when Anderson pinned Eaton after the Spike Piledriver in 0:24:40.

[Jim Cornette interfered against Arn Anderson.]

Up next we go to the World Heavyweight Title Tournament!

JRCCW World Heavyweight Title Tournament
Big Bubba Rogers v. Ric Flair

This match went on for a surprisingly long time, and Flair was bleeding for much of it.  Still, Flair was able to work over the leg as he does in many of his matches.  He finally applied the Figure Four Leglock.  Bubba passed out from the pain and the referee counted him down.

After the contest, Anderson and Blanchard hit the ring!  They pounded away on Bubba.  Meanwhile, Flair went to the outside and retrieved a chair.  Anderson got Bubba up for a piledriver while Flair held the chair in position and Blanchard came off the top with The Spike Piledriver!  The Horsemen left the ring as EMTs came out.  Big Bubba Rogers was placed on a stretcher.

Ric Flair pinned Big Bubba Rogers with the Figure-Four Leglock in 0:18:27. Big Bubba Rogers suffered a neck injury. He will be out for approximately 3 cards.

Looks like no one is safe from the Horsemen!

JRCCW World Tag Team Tournament
The Rock 'n' Roll Express v. The Road Warriors

This was a hard hitting match from beginning to end!  In the end, The Express hit Animal with The Double Dropkick and got the pin!  The fans were really behind Rock 'n' Roll Ricky in this match!

Rock'n'Roll Express (Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson) defeated The Road Warriors (Hawk and Animal) when R. Morton pinned Animal after the Double Dropkick in 0:12:32.

Let's go to our feature match!

JRCCW World Heavyweight Title Tournament

Dusty Rhodes v. Ron Garvin

These two shook hands before the bout and you could tell that the fans were excited for this one!  Dusty took him down quickly and hit The Bionic Elbowdrop right off the bat!  He made a cover, but Garvin was able to kick out.  Dusty dominated the next several moments until Garvin caught him with an elbowsmash and a gutbuster.  Garvin tried brawling with him, but Dusty turned things around and hit Garvin with a big elbow to the top of the head!  Dusty hit another Bionic Elbowdrop but still couldn't get him.  Garvin was somehow able to come back.  Garvin hit Dusty with a side suplex and went for the cover, but Dusty kicked out.  Garvin somehow knocked over the official briefly.  When the official got back up he disqualified Garvin!  Garvin, Dusty, and the capacity crowd could not believe it!

Enter The Horsemen!  Flair attacked Garvin from behind and threw him to the outside and followed him out there.  JJ Dillon came around and they handcuffed him to the ringpost!  Flair was back in and it was three-on-one!  Dusty fought them off as best he could, but the numbers caught up with him.  Flair went to the outside and grabbed a chair.  Garvin was trying to stop him, but all he got for his trouble was a chairshot to the midsection!  Flair went back inside with the chair.  As Anderson and Blanchard each held onto an arm, Flair hit him squarely on the head.  Dusty was busted open.  Much like bere, Flair positioned the chair while Anderson and Blanchard planted him with a Spike Piledriver onto the chair!  The Horsemen left the ring area, but Dusty was hurt and Ron Garvin could not do anything!  EMTs came out for the second time tonight and loaded The American Dream on a stretcher to end the show.

Dusty Rhodes defeated Ron Garvin by disqualification in 0:09:11.  Dusty Rhodes suffered a neck injury. He will be out for approximately 7 cards.

Well.

That kinda screws the pooch on the Round Robin.

Might want to watch out for The Four Horsemen. All your wrestlers will be on the disabled list. But that's definitely the way to establish them as the elite group in all of professional wrestling.
OmegaSupremePosted on 09/13/07 at 07:30:09

Yes, the Round Robin is busted bad Joey.  I'm sure we'll learn more about this next week.

At least we can finish out the Tag Team RR... I think so anyway!

Those damn Horsemen don't seem to want any competition.  They just want to eliminate everyone!
LillaThrillaPosted on 09/13/07 at 15:08:43

Since Dusty can't wrestle with his neck injury, he should start managing some other guys to get revenge on the Horsemen in the meantime.

Injuries suck but sometimes they're a great boon to storylines.

Why not bring in Magnum T.A. as a replacement for Dusty Rhodes? Or is he already signed to another promotion?
