The Russians v. Barry Windham and Kendall Windham

Barry and Kendall showed great teamwork in this one, making quick exchanges and wearing down Ivan Koloff.  The Russians made a bit of a comeback, with Ivan even hitting Barry with The Russian Sickle, but Barry kicked out at two and a half!  Barry made the hot tag to Kendall, who fought off both Russians.  The action spilled to the outside, with Kendall brawling against Nikita.  Kendall nailed him with a dropkick and rolled back inside after the five count.  Nikita was unable to get back inside and The Windhams win it on a countout!

Barry Windham and Kendall Windham defeated The Russians (Nikita Koloff and Ivan Koloff) when K. Windham defeated Koloff by countout in 0:14:30.

What a way to open things up!  Tonight we will begin Round Robin Tournaments for both the JRCCW World Heavyweight Title as well as the JRCCW World Tag Team Titles, but for now let's get back to the ring!

Lex Luger v. Sam Houston

Houston came out fighting, but at times Luger seemed much too powerful for him.  For much of the match, he seemed to dominate.  In the end, Luger drove a knee into the back of Sam Houston and spun him around to drive him into the canvas with a powerslam.  He made the cover and got the easy pin!

After the bout, Ric Flair, Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard came to ringside!  Flair helped Houston up, but he was only helping him up so Luger could put him in The Torture Rack!  As Luger applied the pressure, Flair went to the outside and brought in a steel chair.  Luger released The Rack, but then Anderson pulled Houston back up to his feet.  Anderson and Blanchard each grabbed an arm while Flair picked up the chair and hit Houston squarely on the head with it!  Houston was bleeding profusely as these four left the ring area!  Despicable!

Lex Luger pinned Sam Houston after a powerslam in 0:08:32.
Lex Luger suffered an elbow injury. He will be out for approximately 3 cards.
Rating: -* 1/4

As soon as officials got Houston cleaned up and out of the ring, Anderson and Blanchard were back out.  It's time to begin The JRCCW World Tag Team Title Tournament!

JRCCW World Tag Team Title Tournament Match
Blanchard & Anderson v. The Rock 'n' Roll Express

This match got the crowd as hot as they had been all night!  It went back and forth from the beginning with great teamwork out of both tag team combinations.  More than twenty minutes in, Anderson went for a faceslam on Morton, but Morton blocked it and hit a rana!  He made a cover, but only got a two count.  By this time, Morton's emotions had gotten the best of him.  He knocked the official out of the right and the official had no choice but to disqualify The Rock 'n' Roll Express!  The crowd did not like this decison!

Horsemen Blanchard & Anderson (Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard) defeated Rock'n'Roll Express (Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson) when Anderson defeated R. Morton by disqualification in 0:29:05.
Rating: ***
[J.J. Dillon interfered against Ricky Morton.]

Next up we'll move into the World Heavyweight Title Tournament!

JRCCW World Heavyweight Title Tournament Match
Big Bubba Rogers v. Dusty Rhodes

The already hot crowd stayed hot for this one!  These fans love The American Dream!  Dusty took over early, but Big Bubba was able to turn the tide.  He backed Dusty into the corner and came in with an avalanche!  Dusty staggered out and walked into a kick to the midsection and Bubba leaned his neck against the ropes.  Bubba came off the far side and slide to the outside and nailed Dusty with an uppercut!  He came back inside and made a cover, but only got a two count.  He pulled The Dream back up and whipped him into the ropes, going for a clothesline, but Dusty ducked!  When Dusty came back, Bubba hit him with The Bubba Slam and it appeared to be over!  He made a cover, but only got two again.  Bubba couldn't believe it, so he went to the top rope, but it took him a long time to get up there.  By this time, Dusty had recovered, and he ran into the ropes and knocked Bubba down!  Bubba got back up and walked right into a big elbowsmash that knocked him to the mat!  Dusty set him up and hit The Bionic Elbow!  He made the cover and got the pin!  The fans were electric!

Dusty Rhodes pinned Big Bubba Rogers with the Bionic Elbowdrop in 0:04:21.

Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, and Lex Luger came out to the announce position along with J.J. Dillon.  Flair talked about what they did to Sam Houston and how that was just an example for the rest of the JRCCW to see.  He went on to talk about how when all of the smoke cleared, Ric Flair would stand as JRCCW World Heavyweight Champion, while Blanchard and Anderson would become World Tag Team Champions and Lex Luger would destroy everyone in his path.  After the interview, everyone held up four fingers and walked off the set.

JRCCW World Tag Team Title Tournament Match
The Midnight Express v. The Road Warriors

The Road Warriors were right out of the gate in this one.  Both Road Warriors seemed to dominate The Midnight Express members for the first several moments of the match.  With Eaton weakened, Animal hit him with a big 300 lb plus dropkick and picked him up to slam him to the mat!  Animal went off the ropes, but Cornette tripped him.  Unfortuantely for Cornette, the referee detected this and called for a disqualification!

The Road Warriors (Hawk and Animal) defeated The Midnight Express (Stan Lane and Bobby Eaton) when Animal defeated Eaton by disqualification in 0:03:49.
Rating: -1/2*
[Jim Cornette interfered against Animal.]

This only made the Road Warriors angry, as they chased Lane, Eaton, and Cornette to the back.

We will now head back to the ring for tonight's featured match!  Another match in the JRCCW World Tag Team Title Tournament!

JRCCW World Heavyweight Title Tournament Match
Ron Garvin v. Ric Flair

Flair tried to stall the beginning of this match, but the referee finally had them get it on.  Garvin was fired up!  Every time he would go after Flair, Flair would duck to the outside.  Finally Garvin was able to catch up with Flair and he unloaded on him!  All was well for Garvin until he tried a running knee smash into the corner, but Flair moved and Garvin's knee hit the turnbuckle.  From there, Flair went to work on the leg.  He hit a kneebreaker and then placed Garvin's leg on the bottom rope and drove all of his weight down onto it.  Flair went for the Figure Four right then, but Garvin turned it into an inside cradle, however only got a one count.  For the next several moments, Flair continued to work on the leg.  J.J. Dillon got up on the apron to distract the official while Flair drove Garvin's leg onto the apron on the opposite side!  When the official turned around, Flair applied the Figure-Four Leglock again.  This time Garvin was in intense pain, but he wouldn't submit.  Finally, Garvin passed out from the pain and the referee counted his shoulders down for the pin.

Ric Flair pinned Ron Garvin with the Figure-Four Leglock in 0:14:35.
Rating: ** 1

After the bout, Flair and Dillon stood with their arms raised as Garvin came to.  Meanwhile, Arn Anderson came from behind!  As Garvin stood up looking at Flair and Dillon, Anderson got in position.  Flair pointed in the opposite direction and Garvin turned around and walked right into a Spinebuster!  Blanchard and Luger came down as well and all four men stood over the fallen Ron Garvin as the show came to a close!

See you next week!

The Four Horsemen definitely made a statement tonight in your circuit. I like how they beat up Sam Houston just because they could. Although, I wonder how long Lex Luger will be content to be the only non-title holder in the Four Horsemen considering his ambition (if Ric Flair, Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard are able to win their respective championships)?

You have a very strong tag team division, which was a staple of Jim Crockett Promotions. Whoever wins the Round Robin, you'll have decent champions to start the promotion with.

BY GAWD, THE HORSEMEN ARE RUNNIN RAMPANT!
OmegaSupremePosted on 09/09/07 at 01:11:02

Well, Luger certainly thinks that he belongs in the Horsemen.  He won't see any ring action for at least a few weeks, so he'll have to wait before he can prove it.  As for the tag team division, I am looking to bring in even more teams to make it even stronger.  As time goes on, look for United States Tag Team Titles to show up.

US Tag Titles?  Are you gonna have a US Title too, or will there be 1 singles and 2 tag titles? :P
