Anyone interested in a League-type experiment?
| blslivewire | Posted on 09/01/07 at 07:58:18 I'm toying with an IFL-like project where there are teams of wrestlers in different weight divisions competing with each other in a league setting. I was going to run one myself but I'd like to see if anyone else was interested because I'd like to have a draft for the teams. It would be run-at least at first-as a sport rather than a wrestling promotion. Here's what I had in mind: * We'd need at least 8 teams so we could have a 4 team playoff. * Each team would consist of 5 wrestlers, each represent a different weight class. Super Heavyweight: 300 lbs and up Heavyweight: 220 to 299 lbs Cruiserweight: 200 to 219 lbs Light-Heavyweight: 180-199 lbs Middleweight: 179 and below * Each wrestlers' push would be set to 100 so that the best overall team wins. * No mangers at ringside. * No interference. * Each event would consist of 2 "competitions" with 4 teams. For instance, there would be 5 matches between teams A & B and 5 matches between teams C & D. * In the event of teams going to ties after their 5 matches(like a 2-2-1 scenario), there would be a 10 man tag team match to determine the winner. OR we could make each individual match a win or loss for the teams instead of the 5 matches counting together as a win or loss. * At the end of the regular season, there would be a 4 team playoff. * After the "SuperBow" there would be a Grand Prix to crown the champions from each weight division. There could also be grudge matches here. **I do want to somehow incorporate the "team" dynamic here and so that these guys have to get along too so I want to involve tag team matche sin someway. After the first "season" we'd just take things from there. I'm sure there would be natural storylines that would carry over into following season. Let me know if you are interested or have any ideas. |

A few other things I thought of: * Wrestlers from any era are available. * Owners can choose a wrestling personality or a wrestler on the team to be manager or captain of the team. After the first initial season, we could ahve trades, free agents, etc. Let's shoot for 8 teams before we start a draft. |
