Breaking Point Match off

JustinPossiblePosted on 09/11/09 at 14:51:16

For those of you that don't know the I-C Title match at Breaking Point this Sunday between new champ: John Morrison & Dolph Ziggler has been pulled from the show. Possibly due to the fact that there was no build up for the 2 men prior to Rey Mysterio's suspension.

Thoughts?

That is most likely the reason, yes....

Shame, though, as it'd probably have been a good match.

Even though it is a match I'd loved to see (if I was able to watch PPVs) I think it's the right choice.

No build up never stopped WWE before, why start now?

Now they are citing "time constraints" as the reason for pulling the match. I guess that means the 3 main events will be fairly long.

Personally I'm not real big on the new concept ppv's they are coming up with this year.

Next will be Hell In A Cell & they are replacing Armageddon with a Tables, Ladders, & Chairs theme.

Its nice for a ppv to have something special about it like the Royal Rumble or how No Way Out has the Elimination Chamber. But these 2 upcoming shows don't even have a creative name to play off of (that's just lazy).  I'm glad they dumped Cyber Sunday as that was looked at by many to be the worst ppv of the year usually, but, now I'm left to wonder what the new Bragging Rights will have to offer.

On a semi-related note.. how many wish they would go back to the original format for Survivor Series?

They added Kofi against the Miz instead. Not really the same quality, but it could be pretty good.

I still think that of the PPVs, the regular monthly ones should just be Story Points.

Leave The Big Four as the place for "special" (Royal Rumble has the Rumble, WM is where *EVERYTHING* happens, Summer Slam should be like Night of Champions, and Survivor Series should go back to the way it was)

Oh, and have two Saturday Night Main Events to keep things fresh.

From what I read, WWE views Morrison and Ziggler as breakout stars, and don't want to cripple either of their standings by putting what potentially could be a great midcard match with no build.  A non-finish sucks, and either man jobbing right off kills credibility.

I think it was good.

I guess I can see that... Ziggler has the potential to be another Shane Douglas or "Superstar" Steve Austin with some work (Ok, maybe that's giving a bit too much credit), and Morrison just needs some mic work, and he's right up there with the top guys.

They need the good long rivalry that Morrison and Punk didn't quite get.
