Tomko out of action.

reports from Japan that Tomko had emergency surgery for a torn muscle in his side today. I've also seen a differing report stating he had surgery on his back today.  Either way, this is a major deal for both Japan and TNA.

Every cloud has a silver lining and this one's is: one less WWE reject for TNA to push over their own "home grown" talent.

Tomko has flourished in Japan moreso than WWE.  He's improved leaps and bounds and is one of the better big men in pro wrestling currently IMO.  Sucks to hear this,  hope he gets better.

he and Giant Bernard (formerly Prince Albert and A-Train) are really quite a good tag team over in Japan.  Too bad WWE was impatient with them as workers as they've both come into their own.  Then again, they work Japan style better than WWE style.

THat seems to be a trend with WWE guys... (I'll take Hogan vs Hansen over ANY Hogan US match)

Yeah, Hogan in Japan was awesome.  Good brawling, even busting out some drop-toe holds and ground wrestling.

That's cause Hogan was trained by Hiro Matsuda.

Actually. most of Hogan's work in Japan was good to great, but the Hansen match takes top prize. The thing is Hogan has to work in Japan because there are less "sheep" fans in Japan as there are in NA. NA marks are easy to impress (the casuals), while Japanese wrestling fans (there are a few exceptions since there are marks in Japan too just like any other country) are a lot harder to impress.

As for my thoughts earlier about Tomko's injury: I actually like his work, but TNA should be pushing it's own "home grown" stars, that's the main problem I have with them at the moment. That and the obvious overbooking and bad matchmaking
