TNM crashes if I try to access the control center

CptainDanPosted on 01/27/05 at 23:44:18

I just downloaded the latest program files, and now I can't access the control center.

Circuits seem to be running fine.

It's  Error 64 at pgm-ctr 172840

Same thing happened here.

The exact same error? Please drop me an e-mail and we'll figure out something for you.

Hey...

I sent an e-mail but I haven't gotten a reply yet.  Did you receive it?

After reading another post I tried running TNM in DOS mode to access the control center, and that works.  But in Windows, it always crashes with the above error message.

Cptain Dan

How did you run it in Dos Mode?  Did you do the Run Command.com and do it that way?

I still get an error when i try.

Also could you try this please.

Make a backup and then try and run Control Center.

Mine works that way

I'd like to know if yours does.

Thanks

I'm getting the same error. i've got xp so i can't run tnm in dos mode.
Some GuyPosted on 02/09/05 at 03:03:44

setting the shortcut for windows 95 compatibility fixes it for me.
Oliver CoppPosted on 02/13/05 at 09:29:44

I hate Windows!

That said, CptainDan, Rockstar - please make sure you do not run TNM through a shortcut.

Always open it from the DOS command line. It is well-documented that Windows f...s up when accessing DOS apps through a shortcut.

Could that be the case in your case?
Oliver CoppPosted on 02/13/05 at 09:31:40

Also, the fact that it runs in straight DOS is a dead giveaway that something's fishy about Windows there. Maybe setting the compatibility to Win9x will help?
CptainDanPosted on 02/18/05 at 21:58:50

It's running on a computer that uses Windows 98, so I can't change the compatibility.  I tried not using a shortcut, but still no success.

I also tried making a backup first, as was suggested, and that works.  After a backup, I can access the control center, but I have to make one every time I want to do so.  Strange.

I get an error when I try to Import wrestlers, or Get Exports.  I dont know what the error is however because TNM closes out way too fast.
Critic of the DawnPosted on 02/25/05 at 23:31:57

Try running TNM through the DOS prompt.  I occasionally get errors when exporting files, and have found that it usually works when I do that.  Even if it doesn't, doing this should keep the window open long enough for you to get the error number so Oliver can help you.

I went into TNM throught DOS like you said and I get this error

Error 64 at pgm-ctr: 94321
rptDX316Posted on 02/27/05 at 22:05:00

I'm experiencing the same problem as well.  It crashes as soon as you access the Control Center.  If I make a back-up, I can get into it, but otherwise it'll just shut TNM down.

I'm running XP, but the same thing happens when I try to run it from the DOS prompt as well.
TerryFunkaPosted on 02/27/05 at 22:54:30

have yall tried just plain redownloading it and overwriting the files with the original tnm 7se files then redownloading the updated program files just a suggestion
rptDX316Posted on 02/28/05 at 08:52:37

I did try that yesterday, but it won't overwrite 3b with a lesser version.

One thing though, I'm sure I remember it working at one point.  In fact, it definitely did, because I've imported wrestlers into 3b.  I'm beginning to wonder if it was maybe a corrupt export file that has mucked up the database, if that's possible.

Have any of you guys imported wrestlers into this version recently?
Easyc23Posted on 03/01/05 at 04:42:52

I havent been able to because when I try I get that error I posted earlier, so it is nothing with a corupt import file.
rptDX316Posted on 03/05/05 at 11:53:24

Now, the weirdest thing is going down.  All of a sudden, it's working again on mine.

Must be a random thing, or some sort of memory factor involved, maybe.
Oliver CoppPosted on 03/22/05 at 15:37:33

If you're getting an Error 64, that means the operating system is telling the program "shut the f... down, there's trouble brewing".

If you drop me a line at copp@hexacon.de, I'll send you replacement versions of the ControlCenter - if you're lucky (and almost everybody is), one of them will work for you.
