I gotta big problem

xperiment6two6Posted on 02/21/05 at 09:19:45

hello...new to the boards, but I think I have a major problem

I was trying to schedule a card on my TNM 7 (orginal version) and I accidentally ended the card before I wanted to, so I tried to delete the card (forgetting that I should at least run it first) and now I can not schedule a new card. Every time I try, TNM crashes. What can I do...can anyone help??? I have invested almost 2 years in the fed I was running, and I don't want to lose it forever!!

I even tried upgrading to Second build, but that failed as well.

Maybe Oliver will finally institute some sort of warning message or simply not allow you to delete un-run cards. Same goes for deleting wrestlers before you've run a scheduled card.

Your best option is to wait for Oliver to return from his business trip.  You should probably email him at his hexacon.de address about your problem while he is away regarding the problem.  He may or may not be able to fix this since it involved deleting an un-run card.

When the program warns you that deleting an unrun card may kill your circuit, it isn't talking out of its ass.

There's a possibility that Oliver will be able to recover it... but it will depend a lot on his mood at the time, and how thoroughly screwed up things have gotten. As mentioned, Oliver is out of town on a business trip for at least the rest of the week, so I suggest you start up a new circuit to keep yourself busy - luckily you only buggered up the one circuit as opposed to the whole program, so any others you have or start should work fine.

In fairness to you, I expect a large fraction of the TNM community has learned to take the warning seriously the hard way - I did myself, for example. I echo Shaun's sentiment that a much stronger warning or a total removal of the ability to delete unrun cards may be in order for the next build of SE.

Anyway, you still have all the results in HTML format, right? So your circuit isn't ruined, you just need to create a new one and hire anyone to the same number of cards they were before the crash. Then create titles and hand them over to the right ones. It takes some time, but it will revive your circuit.

And yeah, welcome to the boards!

Please send me your TNM and I'll see what I can do.

Shaun - that's on the agenda... a glaring oversight if I've ever seen one ;-)
