RIP Angel of Death

Rick GarrardPosted on 12/01/07 at 04:54:49

I know we missed it a few days ago, but David Sheldon aka The Angel of Death died a few days ago.  Nothing quite beat him bringing his trumpet to the ring and playing "Taps" prior to his matches in Texas.  If it weren't for PN News messing up Angel's leg on a botched move in WCW, Angel was set for a push based on the fact that PN News was promptly taken off TV and allowed to let his contract run out when he injured Angel.  Tis a shame that yet another Legend of World Class passes on.

Didn't Angel of Death also play one of the Black Scorpions during the Sting vs. Black Scorpion angle?

yes as well as appearing on Walker, Texas Ranger in at least 4 different episodes (including a couple that were taped at the world famous Sportatorium in Dallas)

He was being considered to be THE Black Scorpion before eventually they settled on Flair to bail them out.

Thusly why PN News was released from WCW and then reappeared in Austria as Cannonball Grizzly for Otto Wanz's CATCH Wrestling promotion.

Yep. I hear he was also one of the Russian Assassins alongside Jack Victory.

I got to catch the "Taps" schtick when he was in Global. 'Twas an amusing and engaging entrance.
